Scotty Beamed Up

Today marked the final voyage for James Doohan, or more familiarly known “Scotty” on the original television series Star Trek. James’ ashes were sent up with the Spaceloft XL rocket. Once out of Earths’ orbit, his remains will orbit the planet for generations to come. James’ ashes are included with 200 others on the rocket, so he won’t be lacking for company in his final resting space.
I think there couldn’t be a more fitting end for the actor. Knowing that he is up there in space looking down on us gives me a great deal of comfort. It’s said that more than 11,000 condolences where included with James’ remains. Perhaps his ashes will meet up with Gene Roddenberry’s, who was shot up out of the atmosphere in 1997. Live long and prosper, Scotty.
Simpson dad wants to manage Britney

It looks Joe Simpson - the father of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson isn’t busy enough managing his own daughters. There are rumors now that the ambitious dad wants to take over Britney Spear’s singing career.
According to New York Daily News source, Simpson - a former minister has proposed Britney to manage her career and tries to arrange a meeting with her. Spear’s camp denies such fact.
Britney is without a manager for a few weeks since she fired her former one Larry Rudolph because she wasn’t pleased with the image under Rudolph and blamed him for introducing her to Paris Hilton. Hilton and her influence on Britney was one of the causes Britney to enter rehab.
The New York Daily News source said that Jessica doesn’t mind her dad to manage Britney since they are no rivals now. She even offered to give Britney a call.
Jessica’s career is not as glamorous as before and due to her dad she now succeeds to branch out in movies and will even perform with The Pussycat Dolls. Her sister Ashlee, who started her career in television has two chart-topping singles.
Joe is proving himself as a very good manager so he might be able help Britney return her previous fame also.
No Happy B’Day for Beyoncé

Beyoncé has had to pull the deluxe edition of her album “B’Day” after the inevitable happened. You read it hear how Des’ree was about to file a law suit about the use of her song “Still in Love (Kissing You)” without permission. Now that the edition will no longer to produced, I wonder if the charges will be dropped or if Des’ree will continue the suit.
Beyoncé maintains that she used the song simply because she’d always loved it. She didn’t love it enough to follow the instructions of The Royalty Network however. The company stated that she was allowed to use the song “I’m Kissing You”, but not in a video and she was not allowed to change the title. Not one to follow directions, she broke both stipulations when recording the album. The company is seeking $150,000 in damages against Sony. We’ll see if they pay up or not.

Britney confessed she is considering the prospect of quitting her job to take care of her two children. She said that she can’t bear to be apart from her sons 17-month-old Sean Preston and 7-month-old Jayden James. She made this confession when shopping for her two boys at Los Angeles children’s store, Glen Kids at the Glen Centre. She also told that her kids are the love of her life and that she enjoys every moment with them. “Britney even talked about being a stay-at-home mom, saying that she loves it and that because of her boys, she is not looking forward to go back to work.” A source told. Recently Britney had some problems with herself which ended with shaving her head and making the people wonder what’s going on with her and would she ever come back the music business. But after some time in the rehab she is now different - she is ready to do whatever it takes to be with her kids, she spends time in the studio and goes to dance classes. So it’s really possible to hear from her soon.
Jennifer Lopez being a birthday present

Jennifer Lopez will sing for the birthday party of the wife of the wealthy Russian businessman Andrei Milenchenko. For that purpose she will receive 1.5 million pounds.
Jennie will entertain Milenchenko, his wife Sandra former Serbian Pageant Beauty Queen and their guests in their mansion in Great Britain. There are about sixty people invited to the party in Ascot. Among them there is Roman Abramovich of course.
Lopez will sing for 40 minutes. In the program there are also acrobats and fireworks.
This is not the first time the banker is inviting a famous singer to entertain his guests. Two years ago he hired Christina Aguilera to sing at his wedding. Then she received 400 000 pounds.
The wife of Milenchenko who is a former model and had worked for Armani, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Versace and many other famous designers is used to that tradition already. It looks like it’s really nice to be a wealthy businessman’s wife.
Sanjaya Still in the Spotlight

He’s not gone yet folks. I have been wondering how long Sanjaya Malakar’s 15 minutes of fame would last, and it appears
that at least for the moment he’s got some staying power. People Magazine has just hooked him up as a correspondent for a Washington, DC dinner for White House Correspondents. There he visited with the White House press core, and was able to hear President Bush speak, if somberly, about recent events in America. Also in attendance were People’s other guests, among them comedy genius Eddy Izzard and Robert Kennedy Jr. I think it’s awesome that Sanjaya is getting the love. He certainly has more charm than singing talent. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw him hosting TRL a la Carson Daly in the near future. Who knows? Maybe he’ll end up working for People Magazine full time and reporting on the celebrities instead of just being one.
Forest Whitaker gets Walk of Fame star

Forest Whitaker who won an Oscar this year and Globe and Screen Actors Guild trophies for his role in “The Last King of Scotland” now has his own star in the walk of fame. On Monday there was a ceremony in his honor. Guests to the ceremony were Kiefer Sutherland, Angela Basett and Whitaker’s wife Keisha and his three daughters Autumn, Sonnet and True.
The 45-year old actor shared with the reporters:”I remember as a kid coming to the Walk of Fame. It was like a field trip and very exciting to us.”
Forest Whitaker had a long journey till this happy event. He has many movies in his biography most famous of which are “Bird”, “The Crying Game”, “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”.
Whitaker is going to take part in a couple of movies this year too: “Vantage Point” with Dennis Quaid and “The Air I Breathe”.
Kelly Clarkson and her new album “My December”

There is a lot to say about her new work. She sounds different in it. You can feel she has walked long way to come to this place where she is at the moment and we are hearing in her album. When talking about it Kelly says it’s not a cold album.
“There is more of me on this record” she said “I had more hold on the reins because I wrote the entire thing. It wasn’t planned like that, because I don’t think you have to write everything you sing, but on this one I had a lot to say.
Clarkson is shooting a video for one of the singles from the record with director Joseph Kahn in Los Angeles. In the clip she haunts her ex. Clarkson says that the clip will look like “What Lies Beneath” with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer. The viewer wouldn’t know if she is actually dead or this is just his conscience.
Very soon you would be able to hear the album yourself and decide whether you like it or not. But one is certain - Kelly Clarkson will sound different in it from what we are used to hear before.
Victoria Knows Sexy

Or so you would think. Victoria’s Secret just released a “Who is Sexy?” list, and a couple of these entries make me wonder what they were smoking that day. The list names Jessica Alba as the sexiest actress, and Justin Timberlake as the sexiest singer. Now, granted, the nominations were made by models, and we’re not exactly sure how intelligent these ladies are. Okay, now David Beckham I’ll accept as sexiest dad.
But, Jessica Alba? Are we talking about the same Dark Angel, Fantastic Four, Jessica “my idea of good acting is to woodenly freeze in my underwear” Alba? Sexy to me is not only a beautiful face or body but a charm and allure that draws one in and captivates you. The only captivating I can see Jessica doing is of little boys’ night visions. If Victoria’s Secret considers that to be the ultimate in sexy, then perhaps they need their collective heads examin
Who Killed Jam Master Jay?

It looks like there will finally be an answer to this very question. The rap pioneer was shot in a recording
studio in 2002 and it is just now that a suspect has been named. That name being Ronald “Tenad”Washington, and quite a
name it is. Evidently this Tenad guy was
second string to the shooter. It’s
interesting to note on the subject for his guilt that Tenad was convicted for a
string of robberies that happened right after the Jam Master was gunned
down. Sounds to me like someone was on a
roll that day.
Understandably, the Jam Master’s family is
relieved to finally have some progress on the case. No doubt.
If I had had to site through five years of waiting and wondering I might
have pulled a gun on someone myself. I love
it when progress is made toward the vindication of justice. It’s just so rare that it happens. I hope that with the pressure on Tenad he
will name the gunman and we can finally find out the name of the man who pulled
the trigger.
Di Caprio denies baby rumors

Leonardo Di Caprio denied the rumor that his Israel girlfriend is waiting a baby form him. He said that this is completely false and there is no truth in it. It was declared that Di Caprio felt some fatherhood urge after his friend Tobey Maguire became father recently but it looks like he has decided that he is still not ready for such a huge step. Rumors has it that he has proposed to his girlfriend in Israel on their vacation and then had an engagement party. They are expected to marry this summer. Don’t you think it was time for him to do this after all these different relationships with various women? He has thousands of female fans and I’m sure they are all going to be very disappointed if he gets married. But hey, thats life. There are and are always going to be other Leonardos for the young girls to sigh for.
Lollapalooza Line-Up 2007

That�s right, the summer music festival line-up has been posted. Look to see your favorite bands August 3rd through August 5th in Chicago. This honestly makes me wish I was going to be in town that weekend, because this is a great band list. Pearl Jam will be there, along with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Snow Patrol. Modest Mouse and Muse along with Interpol will be playing during the three day event at Grant Park. It�s one of the few line-ups for these large forum concerts that I seem to like most of. You know it�s going to be a great concert when you own albums from half of the artists planning to attend.
Why the heck is it out in Chicago though? This saddens my heart knowing that it�s in the middle of the country and now out on the West Coast where it should be (where I can attend). Also, I am slightly annoyed at these summer concerts held in outdoor venues where you spend most of your time distracted by the heat, sweat and flies and miss most of the music. I know it�s about ambiance and enjoying the season, but for goodness sake I want some comfort with my concert ticket!
