No Happy B’Day for Beyoncé

beyonce_narrowweb.jpgBeyoncé has had to pull the deluxe edition of her album “B’Day” after the inevitable happened. You read it hear how Des’ree was about to file a law suit about the use of her song “Still in Love (Kissing You)” without permission. Now that the edition will no longer to produced, I wonder if the charges will be dropped or if Des’ree will continue the suit.

Beyoncé maintains that she used the song simply because she’d always loved it. She didn’t love it enough to follow the instructions of The Royalty Network however. The company stated that she was allowed to use the song “I’m Kissing You”, but not in a video and she was not allowed to change the title. Not one to follow directions, she broke both stipulations when recording the album. The company is seeking $150,000 in damages against Sony. We’ll see if they pay up or not.
