Akon has decided to record a song to apologize for the thing he has done and the things he hasn’t after coming to the conclusion “everything I do is affecting the people around me”.
The song was leaked Wednesday on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM morning show and posted on the Web site TMZ.com.
These months Akon has done many things to become the cause for a number of controversies and discussions. In April, he was caught on tape doing a sexually suggestive dance with a 14-year-old audience member at a Trinidad nightclub. As a result of the incident, Verizon dropped their sponsorship from his tour with Gwen Stefani.
Talking about this incident the singer said: ”Sorry for the hand she was dealt, for the embarrassment she felt.”
Earlier this month, Akon came under fire again after tossing a male fan from the stage at a concert near Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
The song, Akon released on Wednesday begins with apologizes to his closest people.
“I’m sorry for the wrong things that I’ve done, I’m sorry that I’m not always there for my sons”, he sings to his wife.
“I’m sorry that your son was a thief”, the ex-con sings to his mother.
When it comes to the incident in Trinidad the singer thinks that he is not the only one to blame.
“How was I to know she was underage”, he sings, “in a 21-and-older club they say? Why doesn’t anyone want to take the blame? Verizon backed out and disgraced my name.”
In his apology to Gwen Stefani he sings: ”Sorry for the hand she was dealt. For the embarrassment she felt.”
Akon ends the song with thanking his fans that they support him no matter what happens.
“I’m just a singer trying to entertain”, he sings to his audience. “Because I love my fans I’ll take the blame.”
