Kiss singer suffers heart ailment

Paul Stanley, a singer and guitarist with rock band Kiss, was forced to pull out of a show California on Friday after his heart started beating at more than twice the normal level, he said on his web site. The apparent tachycardia happened while the band was rehearsing for a performance at a casino in California. Well these thing generally happen to over enthusiastic guys who have never performed at a casino or even seen one in their lifetime, so they get so excited that their heart starts pumping more blood than what that tiny heart can handle. His mind might be doing more rounds on checking those babes that are there in the casinos instead of concentrating on his vocals. Between that he might just have found the path to Maryland and paradise in the dreams so it all got a bit to much to handle for the poor guy. Thank goodness that his heart’s still pumping and doing alright, lesson learnt never ever again go that far in your dreams that u lose control.

Beyonce Knowles made a dramatic misstep when she fell face-first down a flight of stairs during a concert. Ever the stage professional, she got right up and continued her performance as if nothing had happened. The 25-year-old singer - flipping her hair dramatically and wearing a long red trench coat and high heels - was performing her song “Ring the Alarm” during a concert this week in Orlando, Fla., when she tripped and stumbled down several stairs. Anyone can have a slip up so what’s the big deal about it all, me and you have not once but hundreds of times missed a step or had a slip on the staircase of our homes. But we all love to see our most loved stars have a slip in front of us so that there is a hot topic to make tall claims on. The next morning sitting in the parks with friends who saw it on internet site YouTube or live at the concert, giggling on what happened and yet making more gossip stories.

Kelly Clarkson Writes Songs Lightning-Fast

As Kelly Clarkson fans know, the singer wrote or co-wrote every track on her new album My December — but they probably don’t know just how quickly. “I’ve written every song in 15 to 20 minutes. It has to come out of me like that, or it won’t at all,” Clarkson told Self for its August issue cover story. “It’s not even that hard a thought process for me.” She revealed that she has a microphone hooked up to her computer, which she keeps by her bed so she can record music when a song pops into her head. She has drafts of 150 new songs saved. Oh really Kelly, if that were anywhere near the truth the she have turned a music mogal at the age of 20. Write a song while going to bed and record it the next morning and release it in the evening, buy the time she is to bed the music is rocking the charts. I do not doubt her talents at all, but hey like come do not goof up so much that it is hard to digest.
Robbie Williams Has Delusions Of Grandeur

British pop star Robbie Williams dreams of being hailed a “national treasure” and is aiming to become the U.K.’s “number one male”. The Angels hitmaker recently posted a bizarre video of himself online, in which he appears disheveled and confused, sparking fears for his mental health. But the 33-year-old singer refutes claims he is unwell and told teammates in his American soccer side LA Vale he would like enduring fame in Britain. National Treasure he and many of this era’s pop and more so the rappers are nothing but crap and a cruse to man kind. He might make good hit music but some of his peers are only worth being named national treasure. How he even imagine being called something so worthy. He better book a long ticket to the mental care intensive care unit rather than thinking on anything else. He posts such ridiculous pictures of himself on the blogs and websites that he could easily be branded a ‘Mad Max’ brand ambassador. Most of the music that is today played on the radio is total crap thanks to people like Robbie.
Lopez to go on tour with husband

Singer Jennifer Lopez has announced she is to embark on her first concert tour, alongside husband Marc Anthony.
The pair will launch their joint tour on 29 September in Atlantic City - the first in a series of dates in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.The couple, who married in 2004, will perform together and separately in both English and Spanish.
Lopez and Anthony will soon be seen in the US in El Cantante, a film biopic of Puerto Rican singer Hector Lavoe.
The pair previously performed a duet together at the Grammy Awards in 2005.
Anthony said he was looking forward to introducing his wife to life on the road.
“Jennifer has never toured,” he said. “I’ve toured all my life. This is where I can step in and say, ‘Oh my god, this could be fun.’”
A proportion of ticket sales will be directed towards a charitable initiative aimed at reducing childhood obesity in schools with high Latino enrolment.
Halliwell upset with ‘no baby’ contract

Spice girl Geri Halliwell is reportedly annoyed, for her upcoming tour bosses have asked her to sign a contract banning her from having kids till the gig is over. “it’s just a practical requirement really, Geri isn’t planning to get pregnant any time soon but she was narked that she was the only one approached about it. There is rumor that Halliwell, who is currently dating 26 year old Evgeny Lebedev, was looking forward to having a sibling for her 14-month old daughter Bluebell. Boss! who is the boss other than Geri herself. She should be independent enough to decide whether or not such a clause in the contract beaches her private life and whether or not she is willing to commit on such terms. The ball is in the court of her so called bosses and they have to decide whether or not Geri is a money spinner for them and if she is then being a little considerate and polite will not harm them at all.
Rihanna achieves chart landmark

R&B singer Rihanna has scored the longest-running number one single in a decade after claiming a 10th week at the top of the UK chart.
Umbrella becomes the first song since Wet Wet Wet’s Love Is All Around in 1994 to spend more than nine weeks in pole position on the countdown.
Frankie Laine’s I Believe holds the record, with 18 weeks on top in 1953.
Tenor and Britain’s Got Talent Winner Paul Potts entered the album chart at number one with his debut One Chance.
The 36-year-old former mobile phone salesman, who was signed by Simon Cowell after winning the ITV1 show, displaced rock band The Enemy from the top of the charts.
Behind Rihanna - only the seventh artist in the history of the chart to reach a 10th week - was Kate Nash, Timbaland, Fergie and Enrique Iglesias.
Mark Ronson’s cover of Kaiser Chiefs’ hit Oh My God - with vocals by Lily Allen, climbed into the top 10 at number eight.
Amy McDonald, Mika and Biffy Clyro all climbed up the chart into the top 20, while the cast of High School Musical 2 scored a new entry with What Time Is It at 20.
Lisa Loeb and Billy Bob = Odd

Time doesn’t seem to do much against Lisa Loeb’s looks. She still looks as cute as ever. I just wish I could say the same for Billy Bob Thornton. But then again, he’s always looked like a dirty old man. He’s just taking it a step further now with being beyond balding and bone thin.
I don’t know what Lisa was doing at Billy Bob’s album release party Thursday night but I’m willing to bet that she was just guilted into it. Yes, you read right. He’s still trying to make it big with music. He’s like the past generations KFed.
50 Cent Takes Aim at Shooting Game

50 Cent is apparently no fonder of fake shooting than he is of the real deal.
The Massacre rapper filed a $1 million lawsuit against Internet advertising company Traffix Inc. Friday, claiming that the Pearl River, New York, outfit pilfered his image for a banner ad that invites would-be consumers to “Shoot the Rapper” and “win $5,000 or five free ring tones GUARANTEED”—meaning, “Click here, and end up on one of our client’s Websites.”
If one’s mouse aim is on target, a misty spray of blood appears on the screen before the new Website opens.
The ad does not name check 50 Cent but, according to the complaint filed in New York State Court, the cartoon rapper on the screen is obviously supposed to be the 32-year-old hip-hop star.
The “vile, tasteless and despicable” depiction of 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, was “completely unauthorized” and “literally calls for violence against him,” states the lawsuit.
Before he hit it super-big with “In Da Club,” 50 Cent was shot nine times in a drive-by outside his grandmother’s house in Queens in May 2000. He inked a short-lived deal with Columbia Records from his hospital bed, later moving on to Universal Music Group’s Interscope after Eminem hooked him up with Dr. Dre and included the tune “Wanksta” on the 8 Mile soundtrack.
Traffix Inc.’s lawyer, Ezio Scaldaferri, told reporters that he had not yet seen the suit and couldn’t comment.
Madonna to perform on Lennox song

Lennox is set to appear at a special concert in London next month
Madonna is among a host of female stars to appear on a new charity single by vocalist Annie Lennox.
Sing will feature contributions from 23 singers including Shakira, Joss Stone, Dido and Celine Dion, who were asked to perform by the former Eurythmics star.
Lennox, whose new album is due for release in October, wrote the song after her work with Nelson Mandela’s 46664 Aids charity.
The singer’s last solo collection, Bare, was released in 2003.
Other singers to appear on the new record, which is being released in September, include Pink, Fergie, Gladys Knight, Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge and Lennox’s fellow Scottish star KT Tunstall.
The song will raise funds for the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC), whose own vocal group The Generics inspired Lennox to create the track for her Songs of Mass Destruction album.
The award-winning singer, who released her first solo album 15 years ago, performed at the 46664 concert in South Africa in 2005, staged to highlight awareness of the plight of women living with HIV and Aids.
Lennox has amassed four Grammy and 11 Brit awards in a career spanning more than 25 years.
Celine Dion To Open World Tour With First South African Dates

Celine Dion will play her first South African concerts when she tours the world in 2008. The Canadian singer, who has spent the past three years performing nightly at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, will kick start her upcoming world tour with a St. Valentine’s Day show at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg. The corporate gala concert will be followed by shows in Pretoria, Durban and Port Elizabeth, and Dion is also slated to perform at a winery in Somerset West, according to Billboard.com. Her song from the movie ‘Titanic’ My Will Go On made many a people cry but it made more people laugh, cos though it was sung beautiful, it became so famous and played so many times for so long that in the end it started sounding like a grief song. This one song that shouldn’t be played when you are dating your girlfriend and this is one song that will always be associated with the movie ‘Titanic’ which also looked more like a opera theater setting.
Sting ordered to pay $51,000 to ex-chef

An employment tribunal ordered Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, on Tuesday to pay a former chef $51,000 in compensation after she won a sexual-discrimination claim against them.
Jane Martin, 41, won her claim in May. She said she was fired after she became pregnant.
At a hearing earlier this year, Martin said she had worked for the 55-year-old pop star and his wife for eight years, cooking meals for them and guests including Madonna and Elton John.
She said Styler grew unhappy with her after she became pregnant in 2005, making her work long hours and growing angry when she took time off work because of illness.
Martin, who accused Styler of having a “grandiose ego,” left her job under disputed circumstances in April 2006.
The panel at an employment tribunal in Southampton, southern England, said in its May ruling that Martin had been unlawfully dismissed by Lake House Estate, Sting and Styler’s management company, and was a victim of sexual discrimination.
Sting and Styler said they had already launched an appeal.
Penelope Cruz Loves Karaoke

Penelope Cruz is secretly obsessed with karaoke and throws sing-along parties for her Hollywood superstar pals. The actress insists most A-listers cringe at the thought of indulging in the hobby - but love it once they’ve given it a try. Cruz says, “I have a machine at home. Sometimes I do karaoke parties: everyone arrives saying they’re not going to sing, but everybody sings. They all say, ‘I’m too cool for karaoke,’ and then they are fighting for the microphone.” Oh my god, give your neighbors a break one a week atleast, they would not be able to sleep all night after having to go through such a horrifying ordeal. All the star singing one after the other would be like a bunch of dogs braking all night long which is really traumatic in every sense of the word itself. But what I could not stop mentioning here is that her neighbors would soak it all just to keep her as a neighbor. This Spanish beauty is really a head turner.
Kelly Rowland Collapses in Africa

Kelly Rowland was performing in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday when she collapsed. She was rushed to a hospital of course but the cause of her collapse was said to be dehydration. On a follow up check she was reported to be in good condition. Africa is a very hot place. She may have had heat exhaustion and lack of water. However, it could also be attributed to the way some of these girls take care of their bodies. They are all so skinny and in most cases under their healthy body weight. I’m sure this can definitely be a contributing factor. Rowland hasn’t been known negatively in the press and I doubt that she is as mentally unstable as most of the current divas. Considering she’s already made a recovery I guess it really wasn’t that big of a deal.
Rilo Kiley regroups under “Blacklight”

After a year-plus hiatus during which Rilo Kiley’s two principal members pursued solo careers, the Los Angeles-based indie pop quartet is returning to business August 21 with its major-label debut, “Under the Blacklight.” Well, sort of.
“People keep calling it our ‘major-label debut,’ but I think (2004’s) ‘More Adventurous’ was that,” front woman Jenny Lewis says. And in some respects, she’s right. “Blacklight” marks Rilo Kiley’s first effort on Warner Bros. proper, whereas “More Adventurous” was released on the band’s own Brute/Beaute imprint before the major “upstreamed” it.
However you tag it, “More Adventurous,” the band’s third full-length release, is its biggest to date. It has sold 177,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Sound Scan, and cracked the Billboard 200 at No. 161.
Guitarist Blake Sennett’s work with his side band the Elected also has stoked awareness of Rilo Kiley, even while the band was not working together.
On “Blacklight,” there are hints of what Rilo Kiley excelled at in the past, but fans will find a few surprises as well.
The album touches on everything from glistening disco (”Breakin’ Up”) to Spanish-sung choruses (”Dejalo”) and ’60s-inspired surf vibes (”Smoke Detector”). Lyrically, much of the material is devoted to Hollywood’s dark underworld, with Lewis referencing topics like the porn industry and cyber dating.
Sennett says, “We’d done a lot of crying for a long time, and it was time to dance.”
Diddy Turns To Cyberspace For Secretary

None of the big players in the music industry wanna work with music mogul Sean Diddy which is why the singer has had to resort to look out for a new secretary in cyberspace (I do not mean outer space but he is finding one on the internet). Diddy has posted a message on MySpace and has asked applicants wanting to land the job to send in a three minute video interview detailing just why they should be picked. And the video interviews are already pilling in, for not only have 20 been left on video sharing web site YouTube, but also on his MySpace page. Just 20 applications to work with the music industry’s leading celebrity is really not what should have been for real, there should have been scores of people wanting to work with him, if his popularity is anything to go by. It will be interesting to see who this personal assistant turns out to be and what are the work duties that they shall have to perform. Soon will might also need to ask for applications for a chef to take care of his diet needs if keeps smoking all the time.
Live Nation, Maroon 5 ink for the long run

Live Nation is now in the live Maroon 5 business. And not just for one tour.
Billboard has learned that the promoter has not only cut a deal to produce rock act Maroon 5’s 28-city fall arena tour, but both parties have also committed to a full-blown Live Nation amphitheater tour for summer 2008. Maroon 5 will play at least 60 shows under the Live Nation banner by the end of next year.
The deal follows previous statements by Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino that he wants to extend the life of the relationship between artist and promoter beyond one show or tour.
At a time when the touring industry is focusing on developing more arena-level headliners, many think Maroon 5 might fit the bill.
“They are uniquely poised at this point in their career to be a huge force in the industry for years to come,” said Jason Garner, president of North American music for Live Nation. “This is what everyone has said they would like to see — the promoter taking a step in the direction of helping to grow an artist’s career. We think we’ve come into this partnership at exactly the right time.”
Blondie Seeks Susan

One way or another, Blondie is going to get back in the groove. Debbie Harry has penned a new tune for a stage musical adaptation of the 1985 hit movie ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’. The musical will be set to a series of Blondie’s greatest hits which include ‘Heart of Glass’, ‘Atomic’ and ‘The Tide is High’. Other songs being rearranged for the stage include ‘One Way or Another’, ‘Dreaming’ and Debbie’s new effort ‘Moment of Truth’.
Blondie was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year. Debbie says that she hopes that the show will make it to Broadway. If it does premiere on the Great White Way, Blondie will join the likes of ABBA, Elton John, Billy Joel, Phil Collins, Johnny Cash, John Lennon and Duncan Sheik who have had songs adapted or composed tunes for the stage.
Kelly Fights Back

Everyone knows about Kelly Clarkson’s fight with record executive Clive Davis. In the weeks before Kelly’s latest album ‘My December’ was released, Clive has made several biting remarks saying that it sucks in not so many words. Kelly has remarkably stayed silent – until now.
Kelly recently told the press about how she felt about what Clive has said. She comically says that she gets that he’s not supposed to like the album because he’s 80 years old. Ouch. She also made comments about the shady treatment she’s received from her label regarding her latest release, from being told lies to the fights to being told that the album would tank.
It still doesn’t explain why the album sounds like that though.
