When you go off to use something, make sure someone else doesn’t own it, k?
The Red Hot Chili Peppers filed a lawsuit earlier in the week against Showtime Networks over a new show called ‘Californication’. And if your memory can go back to 1999, the band released a hit album and a hit single with the same name. The said album was even named as one of Rolling Stone’s Top 500 Albums of All Time.
The suit alleges that Showtime violated federal trademark law. In a statement made by lead singer Anthony Kiedis, “’Californication’ is the signature CD, video and song of the band’s career. For some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right.”
