Kenny Chesney at ACMAs

Kenny Chesney was the big winner at the 2008 Academy of Country Music Awards which was held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday. Oddly enough, Kenny thought of the win as a big sham as the fans were involved in the voting. In a rant that I bet heâ€™s going to regret for a long time, Kenny said that the Academy had turned the â€˜Entertainer of the Yearâ€™ category â€œinto a sweepstakes to see who can push people’s buttons the hardest on the Internet. … It really diminishes the integrity of the music.â€ Ironically, if you go to his MySpace page, thereâ€™s a banner telling fans to vote for him which also links to the ACM website. For the record, he thanked the fans for voting for him anyway.
