Britney’s Holiday Greetings

Britney Spears began the year stretched to a journey and committed against her will at the psych ward but now it looks like her year has a happy ending. It’s been a tremendous turnaround for the recovered pop star and it we can only hope that it will get better. For the holidays, Britney posted a holiday greeting on her official website which features a happy picture of her with her two sons. I hope that 2009 will be a consistently positive year for her. Maybe she’ll do some exciting stuff like find a new boyfriend or finally get back full physical custody of her kids.
New Leona Lewis music video ‘I Will Be’

Leona Lewis got handcuffed from a police officer on the set of her latest music video ‘I Will Be’ in Brooklyn, New York. ‘Gossip Grirl’ actor Chace Crawford will be making a cameo in the video. A source told People how the UK singer and the actor met saying “Chace went to London a couple months ago for meetings and to promote Gossip Girl. He went to a party and ended up meeting Leona. Leona Lewis and Chace Crawford hit it off and talk every once in a while and have become fast friends… A couple weeks ago Leona called Chace Crawford and asked if he would be in her next video. Of course he said yes.
Country Singer Taylor Swift has the #1 stop again

Country singer Taylor Swift has reclaimed the #1 billing and with that the top spot on the Billboard’s U.S. pop album chart for the third time in non-consecutive weeks. That is remarkable in some ways because after taking the top spot her album did see a dip and has climbed back to that position not once but twice.
This is a clear indication for her growing popularity and the nineteen year-old took the spot on Wednesday with her release Fearless, which sold 330,000 copies on the week ending December 21.
Taylor’s narrowly beat R&B star Keyshia Cole, her debut album A Different Me sold 322,000 copies, taking in the number two spot in its opening week. Singer/actor Jamie Foxx who was also making his debut with the album Intuition grabbed the 3rd spot, with sales of 265,000 copies.
But what is really heartening to see it that Britney Spears successful comeback seems to be continuing for now with Circus selling 196,000 copies which put Britney at the forth position. In fifth place is Beyonce with her release I Am…Sasha Fierce, which sold 195,000.
Beyonce is Obsessed

There’s a new trailer out for the movie ‘Obsessed’, an upcoming thriller film directed by Steve Shill. The movie tells the story of a successful career of asset manager Derek, played by Idris Elba, his beautiful wife Beth, played by Beyonce, and their son. Their lives are put in jeopardy when temp worker Lisa, played by Ali Larter, starts to stalk Derek. If you ask me, it’s Beyonce who looks more obsessed judging by this picture. I’m not too keen on her playing this role though. I’m not quite sure why. ‘Obsessed’ opens in the UK on March 20, 2009 and in the US on April 24.
TI VS Kanye West

TI takes front and center on the other side of the double-sided cover for Rap Up magazine. The 28-year old rapper talks about the biggest year of his career, his impending jail sentence, the effect it will have on his family and how the King always gets his way. Just like the other cover star of the magazine, Christina Milian, TI had some fighting words too for Kanye West. When asked what it would take for him to be conceited like Kanye West, he said “Selling a billion. At about a billion, I think I’d be pretty hard to deal with.” He also talks about winning awards saying “No disrespect to Kanye, but that kinda stuff just don’t mean nothing to me. Whether or not I win an award, I mean that’s nice, but at the end of the day I understand that I’m a man. What being a man means to me is not defined by an award or an amount of records sold.” Oh well, I’ve had enough with Kanye anyway. Bring on TI!
Rihanna Works with Chris Brown and Obama

Rihanna recently performed at the B96 Jingle Bash at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois last week. The 20-year old Barbadian babe belted it out along with Chris Brown, David Archuleta and Jesse McCartney. Chris has revealed some his plans for 2009 which includes a collaboration with his girlfriend Rihanna on some new music. Also in line for Rihanna, the Washington Post reveals that the RIAA is hoping to close a deal to have the singer headline the association’s January 20 inaugural charity ball for Barack Obama at Ibiza nightclub. Rihanna works with everyone from her boyfriend to the President!
Kanye Breaks Down

Kanye West recently performed on SNL. Wait, did I say perform? I meant sucked. When he went back to California a few days after the performance, he told the paparazzi that he thought that his performance was good. Too bad about 62% of the people surveyed disagreed with him. However, if you look over the bad notes, the questionable dancing and the time he stopped trying to do his so-called singing, it wasn’t really that bad. But then again, that constitutes to the whole performance. He should have just done an Ashlee Simpson if he was going to give us that performance.
Paramore is Colorful

I wonder what Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams’ real hair color is. The very colorful girl showed off a new hair color, nay, colors, as in plural. At the Z100 Jingle Ball in New York City last weekend, Hayley showed off her red and purple hair. Considering she takes to coloring that good, I’m guessing she’s a natural blonde. Now that’s pretty boring for such a bubbly girl likeher. And how cute is that? She likes to match her shirts with her hair! Don’t you just want to take her home and keep her to be able to pinch her cheeks whenever you want?
More American Idol Changes

American Idol has been on a decline for a good while now so in an effort to reverse its ratings decline, the show is making a few minor adjustments this season. The changes will officially be announced within the week but they have already been leaked via a fansite which somehow got a hold of the production memo. There will be fewer audition rounds and more Hollywood episodes. There will be 36 semifinalists instead of 24. The second chance wild card round will also be brought back. As previously said, Idol Gives Back will also be cut this year but will return next year and will be an every other year event from then on.

I guess when an artist has a really good album, they’d use and reuse the album until they can’t earn a penny from it.
Rihanna is going to repackage her album in early 2009 called Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded.
Basically, she’s going to remix all her songs that we love so much!
And earn a great deal of money from it!
The album is slated for a January 27th release and contains 12 tracks, 2 of which are remixes of her ubiquitous Umbrella.
We can’t wait!

No Line On The Horizon, the new studio album from U2

No Line On The Horizon, the new studio album from U2, will be released in North America on Tuesday, March 3, 2009.
Written and recorded in various locations, No Line On The Horizon is the group’s 12th studio album and is their first release since the nine million selling album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, released in late 2004.
Sessions for No Line On The Horizon began last year in Fez, Morocco, and continued in the band’s own studio in Dublin, before moving to New York’s Platinum Sound Recording Studios. It was completed at Olympic Studios in London.
The album calls on the production talents of long-time collaborators Brian Eno and Danny Lanois, with additional production by Steve Lillywhite.
No Doubt reunion album release delayed till 2010

Gwen Stefani’s much publicized reunion of her reformed rock band No Doubt and their announcement to release an album in 2009 now it has be announced that their next album will come out not before 2010 – this so that the band can concentrate on their comeback tour.
Drummer Adrian Young said that all members of band are working on new music -but it would take time to create a good album and hence the release has been postponed.
Speaking to MTV, Adrian Young said “We’ve been working on a new record off and on now for a bit of time and we’re going to continue to work on a new record next year. We’re going to start touring in the spring of 09 through the summer, and we’re going to continue to work on music while we’re traveling. (We’ll have) a mobile studio on the bus and eventually get to a new No Doubt record.”
Yeah I think that’s a better thing to do than just come out with a sloppy piece of work and wreck people money on a stupid album. Plus the fans would be able to see if the tour goes on well then fans would be willing to buy their music again.
Britney Spears Snacks on Japan

Britney Spears took a break in a snack shop after taking a walk through Japan on Saturday. Check out the Shave Ice and Doner Kebabs on the wall! I wonder what she bought. I hope it wasn’t anything that could be disastrous to her diet. The 27-year old recovered pop princess also took in some sights as she played tourist for much of the day. In other Britney news, her new single ‘Circus’ debuted at nuber 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart behind Beyonce and TI. ‘Womanizer’ currently sits at the number 10 spot. Two singles in the top ten! Congratulations!
Mos Def Gets Sued

What do you do and who do you turn to if your own lawyers decide to fire back and sue you? It’s a problem that Mos Def is probably dealing with at the moment. According to some reports, his lawyers are suing him for $60,000. The music man apparently failed to pay his lawyers for the work that they did on his divorce. That’s not the only legal problem that the rapper and actor is dealing with though. In August, Mos Def allegedly assaulted a fashion photographer in Las Vegas and ripped his camera off his neck. I’m pretty sure it sucks to be him right now.
Kanye To Take a Music Break

Kanye West is a producer, a rapper and a creator of so-called great art. Now, the man who’s very fond of blogging in all caps is planning to take a break from music to move to London for a while next year to intern at Louis Vuitton on Bond Street in pursuit of his love of fashion. Friends say that the Grammy winner has even joked that he will make and serve the teak to get his foot in the door if need be. Well, it’s a much more believable tale than on of the girls from The Hills just walking in and becoming a designer. Kanye plans on moving some time in the spring to begin his fashion education.

According to an exclusive sneak peek, Britney Spears’ Circus tour is going to be a three-ringed spectacle when it gets to town. I guess they’re really hitting the circus theme hard. The recovered pop singer’s tour promises a three act treat which chronicle’s her rise to fame, her fall and her recovery through a circus concept. In the first act, Brit runs away to join the circus but it can only offer her smoke and mirrors and not the companionship she craves. According to an insider “Brit is seen having fun in this crazy world and falling in love with a circus freak.” Britney then escapes the clutches of the circus and is reunited with her family and friends.

Rihanna killed it in Burberry Prorsum’s spike necklace at Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball which was held at the O2 Arena Docklands last Wednesday is London. Is it me or is she all over the place recently? And would you look at her hair! It looks like she’s slowly letting her hair grow back out. It looks weird to me. She should have just put on some extensions. This year’s show which was hosted by 95.8 Capital FM also gathered together The Pussycat Dolls, Enrique Iglesias, Will Young, The Sugababes, Craig David and Anastacia to name a few.
Katy Perry Clears Things Up

British bad girl Lily Allen has been trying to be good by staying sober but she got all sorts of worked up this past Monday over a comment that Katy Petty made comparing herself to a skinnier Lily Allen. Katy was at a show taping on Tuesday when she decided to clear things up about her comment saying “Yeah, I made a joke about [that] earlier this year. I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn’t mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously.” She doesn’t need to apologize though. If anything, Lily needs to apologize for not having a sense of humor.
