Clique Girlz Radio Chat And Baby Bottle Pop Deal

Check out this week’s episode of Clique Girlz TV at 106.7 XL in Orlando. Paris, Destinee and Ariel stop by the studio and discuss what it’s like becoming a household name, doing schoolwork online and still having to do chores like making the bed and folding towels.

In other Clique Girlz news, it has just been announced that they will be the new spokeswomen for Baby Bottle Pop. The deal was signed by Topps, the collectible candy company founded by Disney’s Michael Eisner. The girls will be featured on Topps’ packaging and appear in the product’s commercials, website and print ads. Jonas Brothers participated in a similar deal with Topps in 2007.

Katy Perry Goes Celibate

This piece of news is so crazy that I’m still not over it even now. While most people’s New Year’s resolutions are to lose weight or quit smoking, controversial singer Katy Perry chooses to abstain from sex. In a recent interview with TV Guide, she said “I’ve actually taken a vow of celibacy this year. No kissing anyone. Just my cat, Kitty Purry.” Can someone sense the lie in this? I really doubt that this is true, coming from the singer who sang ‘I Kissed a Girl’. I bet that this is just some lame joke that the interviewer just didn’t get.

Taylor Swift Still Rules

For the seventh nonconsecutive week, Taylor Swift’s album has been at the number one spot on the Billboard 200. The country singing sweetheart’s album has now become the longest running number one album by a solo female artist since Alanis Morissette and her 1995 record ‘Jagged Little Pill’. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Taylor’s ‘Fearless’ sold 63,000 copies during the last week and has sold 2.3 million so far. Beyonce just can’t seem to pass Taylor. She’s currently the runner up with ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’ selling 49,000 copies. That was a good week for Beyonce but it just wasn’t good enough to beat Taylor.

Jonas Brothers Get 3D and Release New Video

Jonas Brothers are set to release the Soundtrack to their new movie, “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience” on February 24th, three days before the film is slated to hit 3D theaters across the nation. The soundtrack includes old favorites like “Hold On” and “S.O.S” as well as live performances with Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato, a Shania Twain cover, and one new, never-before-heard studio recording called “Love Is On Its Way.” The highly anticipated film goes behind-the-scenes with Kevin, Joe and Nick on last year’s Burning Up Tour, following their every move along the way. Check out the recently released video for “Tonight,” the first single from the Soundtrack, featuring great live footage from the movie.

2008 was a record breaking year for Jonas Brothers where they took home six Teen Choice Awards, starred in Camp Rock, went platinum with their #1 debuting “A Little Bit Longer,” released “Burnin’ Up,” and became the youngest group to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone. The New Year has already proven to be a continuation of their hot streak with a performance at the Kids’ Inaugural Concert in D.C. and an upcoming performance on the Grammys where they are nominated for Best New Artist.

Chris Cornell’s long-awaited Timbaland produced album, Scream

Chris Cornell’s long-awaited Timbaland produced album, Scream, is reaching stores on 3/10.  Chris has been keeping busy rehearsing with his new band and talking with his fans on his blog to gear up for the release.  The front man hasn’t picked up an electric guitar since the break-up of his legendary group Soundgarden back in the late 90’s, but according to his latest blog entry on ChrisCornell.com, he’s thinking of busting them out for his upcoming tour:

“Hi people. Here is an open question. Since I got my guitars back I have been considering playing guitar live again. Who thinks I should pick it up again? I play guitar all day every day as I am always working on new songs. Let me know if you think I should hit it live. The king is dead. God save the king.”

Chris Cornell will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel live tonight, Friday, January 23rd - and free tickets are up for grabs. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, come along and see his outdoor mini-concert - tickets and all other details are available now. It’s a great chance to catch Chris and his band live before they head out to Europe for four exclusive shows next month.

Scream hits stores on March 10

Madonna planning extended tour of Sticky & Sweet

Pop queen Madonna is planning to do a follow up after the stellar success of her global jaunt in 2008 with a new Sticky & Sweet tour. She is on a high and wants to make full use of her recent success and is making plans to do a string of new shows for the summer in a bid to please fans in cities she couldn’t perform in the first time around.

She has already firm plans to tour in July and August and will extend her tour to include shows in Marseilles, France and Milan, Italy.

Should be named ’situation sticky and sour’– not many seem to be enthusiastic about the tour—
I suppose she brings in the money from all the people who go to see her though..funnily enough i do like some of her songs from the past.

Just wish she would come to terms with different attire she would certainly be more attractive with some new thoughts. For me Tina turner has been sexy and a great artist for years and years, she doesn’t usually dance and sing in her panties..She wears miniskirts and leggings covering the very top of her legs…she is still glamorous now….

Jay-Z Crashes the Stage

Everyone hates a stage crasher but when said stage crasher happens to be one of the greatest rappers alive, you welcome him with open arms. During Young Jeezy’s performance last weekend at LOVE Nightclub in DC, Jay-Z grabbed a mic and rapped a few of the scheduled performer’s verses as Akon hovered overhead and let the master go to work. If it was someone else, I’m sure all hell would have broken loose. But since it was Jay-Z, I bet Young Jeezy was just amazed that Jay actually knew his song enough to rap it for him. Fun fact: Young Jeezy is pretty easy to please as his backstage demands were Skittles, Lays BBQ potato chips and Belvedere vodka.

Britney Spears Autobiography

Britney Spears is on a roll with her comeback and the next move on the list is her very own autobiography. The book promises to be a no-holds barred account. The recovered pop princess, or maybe her ghost writer, will use personal diary entries to recount her experiences in a 3 to 5 book series. Really? I didn’t even know she can make full sentences on her own. Apparently, she has already signed up with a literary agent and signed a $14 million book deal to begin writing once her world tour wraps up. It will be the first book to be written by the singer – or so her people want us to think.

Kelly Clarkson Burns Up

Kelly Clarkson’s comeback seems to be having a good start as the original American Idol’s new song ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ currently holds the #12 spot on the chart after being released for just a few hours. She’s doing so well that she’s even beat U2. The Irish band led by Bono is at the #25 spot for the moment with their new song ‘Get on Your Boots’. Music insiders also say that Kelly’s new single will hit the top 5 soon. Congratulations to her! I hope the rest of her album doesn’t disappoint either. As for U2, I hope they can come out with better material soon.

Beyonce Doesn’t Walk

According to Beyonce, a “diva is a female version of a hustler” but the singer refused to hustle the measly four blocks to her car. When she finished with her rehearsal for the pre-inaugural concert, Jay-Z and Beyonce discovered that the streets around the theater had been shut down by police. The cops told the couple that they’d have to walk to their waiting car four blocks away. The diva refused to walk in the cold in her heels and the cops refused to yield to her demands. However, the President’s own Secret Service gave in and let their driver come around to get the diva and her hubby to take them to their hotel so they could change and return to the theater. Crazy demanding!

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Out and About

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony attended the 2009 Latino Inaugural Gala at Union Station in Washington DC this past Sunday. The couple appeared conspicuously cuddly on the red carpet. They have to keep up appearances after all if they want us to think that they’re not divorcing. JLo was even wearing her huge rock of a wedding ring. I guess it matches her dress this time. She once said that the reason she wasn’t wearing it at times was because it didn’t match what she was wearing. Sure, I bet that’s the reason and not because she desperately wanted attention. Cue sarcasm.

Madonna Earns Big

It shouldn’t be surprising that Madonna is on the top of the list of the highest earning musicians of the past year. Adding ticket, album and download sales to figure which music acts were the past year’s most popular, the Queen of Pop came in an overwhelming first place. Madonna raked in a whopping $120.1 million domestically and $281.6 million worldwide. Congratulations! Celine Dion ($106.8 million), Kenny Chesney ($95.7 million), Eagles ($90.7 million), AC/DC ($82 million), Coldplay ($81.6 million), Bon Jovi ($81.4 million), Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band ($79 million), Jonas Brothers ($77.9 million) and Rascal Flatts ($77.1 million) composed the rest of the top ten.
