Award shows and their after parties are suffering from the crappy economy. Several insiders are already complaining about the scaled-down and lack of record company parties after the Grammys. Warner Bros. is apparently out on the celebrations. An insider says “Sony BMG may do a little bash for 100 people, but it’s nothing on the scale of what they used to have. And if Universal does decide to do something, it will be really haphazard and last-minute.” A rep for Sony BMG said “In this economic climate, it’d be inappropriate to have a big gala. We’d prefer to funnel right into artists directly.”

Jennifer Hudson has started working again after the tragic murder of her brother, mother and 7 year-old nephew in October. Hudson had a big comeback singing the national anthem during the Super Bowl’s opening last Sunday. However, her singing has stirred a lot of rumors including the rumor that any self-respecting singer would not want to surface: lip-synced. So did Hudson lip synced the singing of the national anthem during the Super Bowl? The rumor has elicited mixed responses from viewers with some of them saying she delivered a good performance and it was still her voice though lip-synched. However, there are those who criticized Hudson and the show’s organizers for faking it.
The rumor was further fanned by show producer Ricky Minor who said he insisted that Hudson sing to a pre-recorded track since it is the right way to do it. Minor said this way they would be able to avoid glitches which would devastate the performance. Minor should however explain what he just said because a lot of people are getting confused. Did Hudson used a pre-recorded track which means only the music was pre -recorded or did she pre-recorded the song which means she just lip-synched the national anthem?
