Posted in Book, Kanye West on the February 6, 2009

Kanye West has pretty much done everything in the world so why not let him have a go at being an author? The musician is planning on compiling a new book documenting his successful Glow in the Dark Tour with behind-the-scenes photos, concept art, commentary and a best of CD from the tour’s set list. Charles Miers of publishing house Rizzoli New York said “Kanye West has turned his talents as pop artist to books. With a CD that includes Star Wars-like symphonics from the show as well as (an) interview with Spike Jonze, it is not only a memento of one of the most successful musical performances of the year, it is an experience all (of) its own.” Let’s hope he doesn’t write in all caps.

Usher had high hopes for his Atlanta wine bar, The Grape, which he opened back in 2006. He was even expecting the wine bar to go global! Sadly, that’s not the case for the R&B star. The Grape has been forced to close. According to reports, its parent company, Grape Enterprise Group, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It’s tough times for everyone. If Jay-Z’s clubs aren’t doing so good, what makes him think that a wine bar would do any better? Usher should just stick to the music. Though that’s another debatable matter altogether. Does he even have a good career to come back to?

Britney Spears, Jamie Spears and Kevin Federline have been working on an arrangement to have the kids tour with the recovered pop princess. They’re reportedly going to pay KFed an extra $4000 a week while she’s on tour and provide a pad for him in 3 base camps that Brit will have around the US while touring. However, KFed’s lawyers weren’t happy that they weren’t part of the negotiations and were objecting the proposed arrangement. KFed’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan is speaking out and claims that the situation could have been handled better if the Spears camp would have spoken to KFed with his attorneys present. They’re just disappointed that they couldn’t get more money from Brit.
Posted in Faith Hill, Jennifer Hudson, Super Bowl on the February 6, 2009

Jennifer Hudson and Faith Hill brought their A-game when they performed at the Super Bowl XLIII between the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida this past Sunday. The 27-year old former American Idol contestant sang the US National Anthem while the 41-year old country singer Faith sang ‘America the Beautiful’ during the pre-game show. The event was the first public appearance and performance for Jennifer since the brutal murders of her mother, brother and nephew. And what a way to come back! I hope she’s had enough time to mourn and move on and that she can focus on work again.
