Taylor Swift still has the number one album in America this week. Taylor was the biggest selling artist of 2008 in the US and the country singing cutie is intent on global domination. She made London one of her targets last Wednesday night when she made her first appearance ever at the Brit Awards and looked quite lovely in her sparkly dress. Taylor has been in the UK for a few days doing promo and will be in Europe for a while longer before beginning her world tour in North America this spring. It’s hard work being as successful as Taylor is.

Beyonce filmed her latest music video with an actor on the beach this past Wednesday in Malibu, California. The 27-year old singer will reportedly perform with ‘High School Musical’ stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, ‘Mamma Mia’s’ Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper at this year’s Oscars. Host Hugh Jackman and Beyonce have been rehearsing at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York City for the number. I wonder if it’s a serious number or if there’s more of a comedy twist to it. I hope it’s more on the comedic side. It would just be another boring dance segment if not.

New Kids On The Block have just premiered the video for their song “2 in the Morning.” Shot at a mansion in Pacific Palisades, CA, the video follows a feuding couple throughout the house. Donnie describes the concept of the piece as “somewhat based on a very literal translation of the song with a twist.”

Rihanna recently celebrated her 21st birthday last Friday and her friends did something sweet by putting a birthday greeting in the local Barbados paper, the Nation News. Their message reads “Happy 21 Birthday to Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Amidst all the negativity about Ri Ri. God will continue to bless her.
That’s why you are so great, Ri Ri. From Sharon, Shane, Kim and Rashane. We love you.” I can’t imagine how she could celebrate this without having to think of what recently happened to her. Belated happy birthday to Rihanna! Just stay strong. Things can only go up from here.
