Beyonce has finally announced the dates for the US leg of her ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’ tour this summer. The tour will kick off on Sunday, June 21 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York and will wrap up on Sunday, August 2 at the Encore Theatre at the Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her summer tour consists of 22 dates all in all. It seems pretty short to me but whatever floats her boat. Maybe she’s making room for dates in other countries or because she’s going to be in another movie. I don’t really care. I don’t like her that much.

VH1 has just announced that they will be bringing back their VH1 Divas series. The annual show has been on hiatus for the past four years but the network will be airing the latest instalment of the show live from the Brooklyn Academy of Music on September 17. Executive Producer Lee Rolontz released a statement saying “Over the years, we’ve received constant calls and emails asking us to bring back our ‘Divas’ show. Now more than ever, the time feels right to re-launch this beloved show as a new generation of talented female artists has come to the forefront of music… We’ve heard our viewers, and we promise to deliver a live show that will generate the same ‘Divas’ excitement as in the past — while also infusing some new twists along the way.” That new twist comes in the form of voting for the divas you want to see on the show and voting is now open!

While Matt Giraud’s rendition of ‘Stayin Alive’ was less than stellar, American Idol voters threw him enough support to put him in the Top 5. As the one-time save has already been exercised, two Idol hopefuls were sent packing this week. Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai ran out of love and got the axe. Oddly enough, when the two gave their encore performances, they sang much better than they did on performance night. Paula went as far as asking Lil why she didn’t sing like that last night. Maybe Lil just gave up but still wanted to go out on a high note. I don’t really care. I wanted her gone anyway. I’m sad to see Anoop go though.
With two contestants getting the boot, there wasn’t too much time for pleasantries, but the judges told each castoff that “this is only the beginning.”

The Hannah Montana star was voted number one in an online poll which was last year topped by the Toxic pop princess.
Nearly a third of people who answered the PopEater.com survey said 16-year-old Miley was now their favorite teen idol, although just 10 per cent thought she was the best overall role model.
Pop hunks The Jonas Brothers scooped second place, with 27 per cent of the vote.
And comeback-queen Britney, who fell out of favour as America’s sweetheart after last year’s public meltdown, bagged third place.
A quarter of those surveyed thought she was top.
Meanwhile, country singer Taylor Swift easily beat off competition for the celebrity who has the best influence on young people, with Spears nabbing just four per cent of that vote.
The Backstreet Boys were voted the greatest teen idols of the 90s, Kirk Cameron scooped that title for the 80s and David Cassidy was the singer of choice for the 70s.
Saturday Night Fever star John Travolta made a comeback in the survey, being named the hottest former teen idol by 54 per cent of those who responded.
A total of 57,000 PopEater.com readers took the questionnaire, which also named former sex-addict Rob Lowe as the most scandalous idol of all time.

Rihanna is painting the town red after the controversial violent altercation between her and boyfriend Chris Brown last February. Rihanna may be trying to forget the incident and is having the time of her life by celebrating incessantly. Rihanna was spotted partying at Los Angeles last week. She was among those who celebrated the 30th birthday of Los Angeles Clipper Baron Davis at Hollywood Club MyHouse.
Rihanna arrived at the club at around 12:30AM and was already dancing when the MyHouse DJ sent her and the other people around a message. The message was in the form of a musical dis of Chris Brown. While Rihanna was dancing on the railing DJ Cobra played the Jump Smoker song “My Flow So Tight” but with lyrics containing the words “Chris Brown should get his a—kicked”. The blatant slam against Chris Brown made the crowd wild.

How does Britney Spears get off using motorcycle officers to clear a path for her on an LA freeway during rush hour? The recovered starlet footed the bill for a California Highway Patrol escort last week which took her 28 miles from her Calabasas home to the Staples Center in Downtown LA. How can officers use horns and flashing lights to clear a path even when there’s no emergency? A CHP official said that the department provides the same service for the President, Rose Bowl teams, for movie details and other things and that officers “can use the tools at their disposal, including lights and sirens, to expedite the flow of traffic and ensure safety.”

The American Idol Top 7, part two, performed disco songs last night. Before watching the show, I had my reservations of even tuning in as this category of songs usually ends up being the worst of any season. I was glad I decided to watch though as they turned out some pretty nice performances as compared to past seasons. Lil Rounds kicked off the show with ‘I’m Every Woman’. Kris Allen worked hard for ‘She Works Hard for the Money’. Danny Gokey sang ‘September’. Allison Iraheta sand ‘Hot Stuff’. Adam Lambert sang ‘If I Can’t Have You’. Matt Giraud sang the appropriately titled ‘Stayin Alive’. And Anoop Desai sang ‘Dim All the Lights’.

It seems that Britney Spears’ stalker, 26-year old Miranda Tozier-Robbins has an American Idol connection. It turns out that she was once an Idol hopeful. The alleged stalker tried out for season 5 of the hit singing contest when they held auditions in Boston. Oddly enough, Miranda sand Britney’s ballad ‘Everytime’ during her audition. She was arrested outside of Brit’s Calabasas home last week after security caught her peeping into Brit’s windows with a camera in hand. She was later released on $5000 bail and has to appear in court in June. Why can’t the crazy people just stay home?

Katy Perry is getting herself covered up whether she wants to or not. An American blogger located in Saudi Arabia decided to buy the singer’s album as a present for her son and discovered a change in the album’s artwork. The ‘One of the Boys’ artwork available in Saudi featured Katy’s originally exposed legs and chest covered with leggings and long sleeves. The blogger said “So what it all boils down to is that the Saudi government is actually paying religious police members of the Committee for the Protection of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (CVPVP) to remove the plastic wrap from these CDs, open up the CD cases, remove the front and back inserts, and carefully and painstakingly color in with a marker any photos baring exposed female flesh that is deemed objectionable.”

The doctor who performed surgery on Kanye West’s mother the day before she died has given up his medical licence.
Dr Jan Adams operated on Donda West on November 9, 2007, performing multiple procedures including a tummy tuck and breast reduction. She died the next day.
Donda’s autopsy concluded there was no evidence that the surgery was botched. The report stated that the 58-year-old died of heart failure, and added: "Multiple post-operative factors could have played a role."
Although Adams has always denied any wrongdoing, the Medical Board of California sought to revoke or suspend his license because of multiple alcohol-related convictions.
"A series of complaints were filed against Mr Adams, but he chose to surrender his license instead of contest them," Medical Board spokeswoman Candis Cohen said.

Britney Spears may be heading back to court, if a Los Angeles lawyer gets his way.
A lawyer who claims to have been hired by the pop princess to overturn her conservatorship is demanding the star appear in court – where he is fighting a restraining order obtained by Spears’s dad Jamie.
The restraining order was issued against Jon Eardley Esq on January 30 along with orders against Britney’s former manager Sam Lutfi and her former paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.
Eardley is challenging the order and has requested Britney face him in court.
In the court documents, Eardley states: "If Britney Spears is well enough to put on two concerts in Los Angeles, she is certainly well enough to attend a trial where attorneys on her behalf have falsely accused Jon Eardley of harassment and elder abuse."

Justin Timberlake wants Amy Winehouse to say Yes Yes Yes to a duet, according to reports.
Trousersnake has reportedly even offered to fly to the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, where the star is on holiday, to seal a deal on the collaboration.
The reports say Timberlake has offered to fit in with Winehouse’s notoriously erratic schedule and work in the studio of her choice.
An insider said: "Amy gets thousands of offers a week from other artists. Justin Timberlake is one she is considering.
“But Amy will only do it if the other person’s music fits the mood she is in at the time."
Winehouse has been struggling to find a direction for her eagerly anticipated third album.
She has reportedly already scrapped a duet with Snoop Dogg and turned down a collaboration with Eminem as she makes plans for her new disc.
It is also believed the star has clashed with her record label after agreeing to team up with the virtual band Gorillaz for a separate project.

The famous hip-hopper recently revealed the reason for partially giving up his musical career… and wouldn’t you know it, it was because of his drug addiction that didn’t quite dissolve with rehab. Eminem related: “I wasn’t ready mentally. I wasn’t ready to give up the drugs. I didn’t really think I had a problem. Basically, I went in, and I came out. I relapsed, and I spent the next three years struggling with it. Also, at that time, I felt like I wanted to pull back, because my drug problem had got so bad. I felt like, ‘Maybe if I take a break, maybe this will help.’ I started to get into the producer role more. I can still be out there with my music, but I don’t have to be in the spotlight the whole time.” Yep, nothing is wrong, there is no problem… until the OD kicks in and then there’s really nothing more to worry about. Well, it looks like Eminem did it, he braved the distance run and can now go on to do even more amazing things with his life. Lucky dog!

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest said it best when he said “Idol history has been made!” 23-year old Matt Giraud got the lowest number of votes but the judges shocked everyone when they decided to use their one-time saving power to prevent the piano player from getting eliminated. That means that two finalists will get eliminated on next week’s elimination show. This whole save thing will get a very big backlash if Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey, two of the shows front runners, somehow find themselves in the bottom two positions. It’s not likely, but it can happen. The judges might end up regretting having saved Matt then.

“Know Your Enemy,” the first single from Green Day’s upcoming eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, is available now. After teasing fans with a snippet of the track, the full version has finally hit iTunes for the world to hear.
21st Century Breakdown, which will be released by Reprise Records worldwide on May 15th, is the best-selling trio’s first studio album since 2004’s two-time Grammy Award-winning punk-rock opera American Idiot, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles, and went on to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide. In a recent feature, Rolling Stone called 21st Century Breakdown “even more ambitious than American Idiot” and “a record of die-hard punk ideals…tightly scripted, continually ascending classic-rock excitement.”

Through a “tweet” on Twitter.com today, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND have announced that they are giving away their new single, “Funny the Way It Is,” as a free download for one week. Dave (@davejmatthews) and bassist Stefan Lessard (@slessard) are both very active on Twitter, keeping touch with their huge fanbase and decided it was the perfect place to get the word out. The song comes off their upcoming album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, which hits stores on June 2nd. It will be the band’s first studio album since the death of saxophonist LeRoi Moore last summer. The “GrooGrux King” in the album title refers to Moore’s nickname within the group. Matthews created all of the artwork for Big Whiskey, including the richly detailed cover illustration that puts a GrooGrux spin on New Orleans’ traditional Mardi Gras parades while evoking the joy and the sorrow expressed in the album’s songs. Matthews has designed logos and other elements in the past, but this is the first time he has created the entire packaging for a Dave Matthews Band album.
Guitarist Tim Reynolds will play on the album, making it his first recording with DMB since 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets. The album was produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Goo Goo Dolls). Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King will also feature the recording debuts of Rashawn Ross who joined the band in 1996 but hadn’t played on any of their studio releases yet and Moore’s replacement, saxophonist Jeff Coffin who also is a member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones. DMB just released a trailer for the new album which can be seen below.
Dave Matthews Band kicks off its 2009 tour tonight with a show at Madison Square Garden in New York City and will be on the road through October 2nd.
