Beyoncé says she isn’t totally ‘Obsessed’ with singing and acting and may consider taking two years off after her current tour.
The performer, who is circling the globe with her I Am… show, is considering taking a well-earned break when her current world tour is over.
“My priorities are slowly changing,” says the 27-year-old.
“So after this tour I might be tired and want to take two years off. I’ve worked hard enough to be able to do that.”
Beyoncé recently topped the US box office with the thriller Obsessed, but is now on a world tour, hitting 110 cities in a schedule that will keep her on the road through 2010.
But the newlywed, who has only been married to rapper Jay-Z for 13 months, says she tries to spend as much time with her man as possible.
“We try to sync our calendars,” she says.
“I started working on my tour a year ago just to make sure that I had time at home.”
In an interview with UK magazine Marie Claire, the Texan reveals that despite being a married woman, she can still appreciate singlehood.
Referring to her hit song, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), she says: “More than anything, the song celebrates being single.
“It’s like, if you’ve been doing all you can and it’s not happening for you, go out and have you a good old time.
“Put on your sexy dress and move on.”

No Doubt kicked off their world tour at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey this past weekend. Front woman Gwen Stefani looked out into the crowd and told her fans “It’s so good to be back after five fucking years” and “I forgot how adorable you all were!” The band and a lot of partygoers later celebrated the tour’s successful start at club mur.mur in the hotel. Gwen’s son Zuma was spotted out in the crowd during the concert wearing blue headphones. He didn’t attend the after party though. I guess it was way past his bedtime. I wonder where Kingston was.

In the latest issue of Vibe, Eminem reveals that he was once addicted to pills. After his first trip to rehab, the rapper suffered an overdose when an acquaintance handed him some methodone. On top on his Vicodin, Ambien and Valium intake, he realized he had a problem after he had knee surgery. And with no prescription for pain killers on account of his addiction, he found himself ransacking his house for any leftover pills. That led to his second trip to rehab. Eminem said “It never once hit me that drug addiction runs in my family. Now that I understand that I’m an addict, I definitely have compassion for my mother. I get it.” Now that he’s back with a new album, he adds “Rap was my drug. It used to get me high and then it stopped getting me high. Then I had to resort to other things to make me feel that … now rap’s getting me high again.”

The remaining American Idol hopefuls took on classic rock this week. Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey took the stage without doing dress rehearsals this week due to an accident that happened as they were setting up the stage. It seemed to make no difference though. Adam kicked off the show with Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lot of Love’. Talk about being a tough act to follow. Allison sang next with Janis Joplin’s ‘Cry Baby’. It was a good vocal but too much like the original. Kris sang The Beatles’ ‘Come Together’. His performance showed that he was certainly not a rocker but his arrangement suited his voice well. Danny performed Aerosmith’s ‘Dream On’. It’s a big song to take on and Danny failed to deliver. I still think he’ll be safe though.

The two American Idol contestants teamed up last night to put on quite a show with their rendition of Foghat’s “Slow ride”. Even though Alison Iraheta supposedly didn’t do so well, the fast-rising star Adam Lambert managed to make this duet be successful. Simon Cowell actually mentioned that he might have given Alison Iraheta a chance to stay on the show. It looks like Adam Lambert is becoming quite the savior of the show. Apart from being the mega-hit of the whole season, now he’s actually saving other contestants from getting the boot. But of course, that’s not going to affect his popularity at all, is it?
