American Idol finalist Allison Iraheta was given a reason to be a cry baby when she was the latest contestant to be booted off of the show. After all of the comments made on performance night, it was pretty surprising to see Kris Allen be the first to be sent to safety, followed by Adam Lambert and then Danny Gokey. Allison took her dismissal in stride though, belting out an energized reprise of Janis Joplin’s ‘Cry Baby’. Host Ryan Seacrest seems to be a big fan of the girl telling her before the show’s end “I’ll be playing you on the radio real soon.” The remaining 3 contestants will travel to their hometowns this week before performing 2 songs next week – 1 of their choosing and another from the judges. I wonder which judge isn’t going to get a pick.

For the first time in its 8 seasons, Paula Abdul took to the American Idol stage to perform her new single ‘I’m Just Here for the Music’. I’m not sure what modern-day computer program was used to enhance her voice but it definitely sounds like Paula in her golden days. And it definitely looked like she was lip-synching. You have to give it up to her though because she looks incredible and dances great. She never seems to age! I’m a bit miffed at why she was doing a dance track during rock week though. Interestingly, during the end of her performance, one of the “paparazzi” asked if she was going to be there next season.
