Adam Lambert album expected this summer

The American Idol star is apparently going to have an album with tracks he recorded before the contest out with Hi Fi Recordings and it’s due this summer. The CEO of Hi Fi, John Hecker, said the following about Adam Lambert’s upcoming release: “We were presented with a business opportunity,” said Hecker. “We accepted because Wilshire Records had a long working relationship with Adam, and it resulted in excellent music that they had the rights to. The music has an audience, and it deserves to be heard.” Right… and the songs being released now, considering they were recorded in 2007 and 2008, has nothing to do with the fact that Adam Lambert recently gained fame and thus he is now a profitable market. They’re just releasing the songs because they need to be heard, right?

Madonna wants a cocoon for Mercy James

Madonna has recently sent her two other children, David and Rocco, to her former husband’s home in England so that she can bond with her new daughter. A source said the following about the long-awaited arrival of Mercy James into Madonna’s home: “Madonna had hoped to have all the children together for the next few days but David couldn’t contain his excitement and was running round the house like a runaway horse. He kept shouting, ‘I want to see my sister,’ and endlessly hugging and tugging at her. In the end it was best to pack him off with Rocco to Guy’s place in Wiltshire. Guy has been keen to meet Mercy too. The next few days are all about cocooning Mercy from the world and getting her used to being around her new family.” That’s all fine and dandy, but hopefully the cocoon will be broken in only a few days time as Madonna intends it and it will not be prolonged indefinitely… we wouldn’t want the poor child to live inside that kind of environment for the whole of her childhood.

Green Day Premieres Video for New Single “21 Guns”

Green Day has just premiered the video for their new single, “21 Guns,” exclusively on MySpace Music. The video was helmed by noted director Marc Webb, who has lensed clips for such artists as My Chemical Romance, Weezer, and All-American Rejects, and is making his feature film directorial debut in July with (500) Days of Summer.

“21 Guns” is the second single from the band’s latest album 21st Century Breakdown, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, as well as on the Rock, Active Rock, and Alternative charts, fueled by the Alternative radio No. 1 single “Know Your Enemy.” 21st Century Breakdown, which Rolling Stone has called “a rock opera in which the rock always comes first,” also topped the charts in 24 countries including the UK, Canada, and Japan.

Over the past month, Green Day has continued to work with MySpace Music for the promotion of 21st Century Breakdown. During the week of the album’s release, they played an exclusive concert in New York City which was filmed for the site’s premiere online concert program, The List. The performance can now be seen on The List’s official MySpace profile.

This year’s show will take place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 9th, and air the next day, Monday, August 10th, on FOX at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Fans can vote for Green Day at http://www.teenchoiceawards.com/.

Green Day, which is singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool, are preparing to launch their first proper tour of the United States and Canada in more than three years. The tour runs from July 3rd through August 25th. Please visit http://www.greenday.com/ for more details.

Mariah Carey Gets Obsessed

Mariah Carey has a new single out called ‘Obsessed’. It is being reported that the song was written about Eminem. I don’t hate it but I don’t like it either. The lyrics are good but the music is pretty boring and nothing to get excited about. The song also has that urban feel. Mariah Carey needs to go back to making pop music and stop trying so hard with the hip hop R&B genre. If she really wants to try something new, maybe she could go for dance music. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry do have some of the hottest music on radio right now and look what their genre is. Mariah should take some notes.

Rihanna’s testimony not for prying eyes

The singer who is going to testify against her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, who assaulted her earlier this year, will be doing so behind closed doors. It seems that Rihanna’s testimony will not be televised so we won’t be able to see what she’s going to say about what Chris Brown did. Oh well, guess we’ll have to settle for the press release… but it’s just not fair! It’s not fair that so many of Rihanna’s fans will not get the chance to see her slander her former boyfriend. But then again, why not be good Christians about this and consider the fact that this will be a lot easier on poor Chris Brown who has a lot on his shoulders lately.
