First, Jennifer Hudson got herself a holiday show. Now, Carrie Underwood just jumped the bandwagon too. The sweetheart of a country singer and American Idol winner will be hosting a variety special for Fox this holiday season. The two-hour special event called ‘Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special’ will air on December 7th. What an original title. If I had to guess, the show will be filled by an endless parade of former Idol contestants and country singers singing a slew of holiday songs. I can just kill myself with the happiness bubbling inside me. So who’s going to watch this one?

Michael Jackson’s estate just got a partner that it wasn’t expecting because it’s just been said that Paul Anka is now a 50% partner for the publishing rights to ‘This is It’. The singer will also get other profits but the publishing rights are usually the biggest ticket and sources say that the King of Pop’s estate has agreed that Paul gets half of it. I bet that Paul wasn’t expecting that when he woke up. Sadly for Sony, they didn’t either. But it’s just fair. Paul did write the song with Michael. They could find themselves in an even bigger mess if they didn’t acknowledge that.

Lady Gaga will be performing at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s 30th anniversary gala in Los Angeles on November 14 with the Bolshoi Ballet and artist Francesco Vezzoli. Vezzoli spoke of the upcoming performance saying “They basically offered me a social ritual as a blank canvas to be turned into an artwork. Some artists might see this as a nightmare, but for me it’s like a surreal dream, and in true surreal style I wanted to mix together the youngest and most daring pop icon, Lady GaGa, with the oldest and most classically trained group of dancers in the world, the Bolshoi Ballet…The output will be flawlessly imperfect and unpredictable, just like any overambitious happening should be.”

Ryan Gosling and his band mate Zach Shields have created a very unique video which announces the tour that their band Dead Man’s Bones is going on. The tour goes on all this month and it kicks off tonight at 8PM at Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The promo even involves a dog popping a bunch of balloons. The actor turned musician Ryan described the video saying “We have been severely influenced by the works of [actor] Jan Michael Vincent and early [philosopher/ novelist] Jean Paul Sartre and I guess this our way of saying “thank-you” to all those who stood for something real and several things unreal. For all the Lou Diamond Phillips of the world who can step out in faith and say ‘please show my date the way out, quick’! This is for you.”
