Michael Jackson’s This Is It to release on DVD

The movie about Michael Jackson’s last days, Michael Jackson’s This Is It, will be released on DVD in January, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announced.

The movie contains hours of rehearsals in the lead-up to a UK tour that never was. Jackson died suddenly on June 25 of a cardiac arrest. His death has been termed a homicide.

The film, which has played to acclaim around the world, is seen by many as a godsend in its last remaining glimpses into the work of the King Of Pop.

The DVD will debut on January 26, 2010. It includes two documentaries, Staging The Return: Beyond The Show and Staging The Return: The Adventure Begins. So far This Is It has grossed more than $70million in the United States.
