Adam Lambert Sort of Apologizes

Adam Lambert recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and discussed his controversial performance at the American Music Awards. The openly gay singer expressed a bit of regret about it all, saying “I forgot that this was the first time people were seeing me on TV again after Idol…I think in hindsight, I look back on it and I go, ‘Okay, maybe that wasn’t the best first impression to make again or the first second impression.’” Ellen also made a great point during the interview saying that if you’re going to be offended by a sexual performance, we should be offended by all sexual performances. Preach!

CBS Explains Adam Lambert Brawl

Over a week after the American Music Awards and people are still talking about Adam Lambert’s sexually charged performance where the openly gay singer basically made out with his keyboardist Tommy Ratliff. On a segment during the CBS Early Show last week, the kiss was blurred out before showing unedited footage of Madonna and Britney Spears kissing at the MTV VMAs from a few years back. A rep for CBS has spoken up regarding the double standard, saying “We gave this some real thought. The Madonna image is very familiar and has appeared countless times including many times on morning television. The Adam Lambert image is a subject of great current controversy, has not been nearly as widely disseminated, and for all we know, may still lead to legal consequences.” I don’t buy it.

JLo Jokes About AMA Fall

Adam Lambert’s performance at the American Music Awards may have gotten more attention but some people are still talking about Jennifer Lopez’s fall on stage. While performing her new song, ‘Louboutins’, the singer fell on her booty when she jumped off a dancer’s back. However, the falling clip was edited out of the West coast feed and instead showed JLo jumping in slow motion and cut to her standing up. She’s ok with the little mishap though. JLo was on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show and joked about the incident saying “Did I trip a little bit? I don’t even remember. Yeah, I meant to do that. That was part of the choreography. The measure of things isn’t what happens when you fall, it’s how you recover when you fall.”

Eminem to Perform at AMAs

Eminem has recently been added to the list of performers for this year’s American Music Awards. There’s no word yet on what horrific song the rapper will perform though. I almost completely forgot that he even released an album this year, much less that it was decent enough to warrant him performing at such a big stage like the AMAs. With Eminem being added to the list of performers, that means there will be 10 performances on the show, including the likes of Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Adam Lambert and Carrie Underwood. Which performance are you most excited for? I can tell you that Eminem wouldn’t even make my list.

American Idol Reunion at AMAs

This year’s American Music Awards might as well be touted as an American Idol reunion. Why? It just so happens that Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry’s band, Daughtry, are all scheduled to perform at the awards show on November 22nd. They would pretty much cover half of the performances on the show. And I can just guess that country singer Carrie will be racking up a couple of awards too. That’s quite an empire that Simon Cowell and the rest of them have built. Will you be tuning in to see that Idols on the show?

Jonas Brother Takes a Spill

It’s not much news anymore when a celebrity takes a fall on stage. But when that celebrity happens to be a big teen sensation and the performance aired for all the world to see, it’s big news again.

Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers took a spill when he and his brothers performed at the 2007 American Music Awards on Sunday at the Nokia Theatre in LA. He tripped over part of their set up and fell on some broken glass. Ouch! It looks like he even cut his hand on some of the shards and bled.

Joe made like a true performer though when he popped right back up and continued to sing.
