Michelle Williams Takes Over for Ashlee Simpson

Former Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams is taking over the role of Roxie Hart from Ashlee Simpson in ‘Chicago’ on Broadway. Michelle’s run on the musical will start on February 8 and end on March 28. This isn’t the first time that the singer has played Roxie as she starred in the West End’s production in London last year. Michelle isn’t a stranger to Broadway either as she had her debut on the Great White Way in 2003’s ‘Aida’ where she replaced Toni Braxton. She was also part of the national tour of ‘The Color Purple’. Michelle is definitely a good choice for the part! But then again, anyone would be better than Ashlee Simpson.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz glad she made hubby Pete Wentz work hard to get her

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has revealed that her husband Pete Wentz had to really up his game to get her to go out with him.

The 25-year-old mum-of-one said: “He worked hard to get me, let me tell you. But I’m glad he did… He’s my best friend in the world and he’s an amazing dad.”

The actress – who is to be written out of Melrose Place – also spoke about getting back into shape after giving birth to their son Bronx Wentz in November 2008, adding that she didn’t follow the Hollywood trend by rushing to lose the baby weight.

She said: “I wasn’t in a rush to get back to this body for anyone else. It was more like: ‘I wanna look good [for me]. I wanna feel good’.”

When it came to losing the weight, the actress tried a home-delivery meal plan, but soon fell off the wagon.

“It was hard,” she said, “because I’m an eater. If I want a grilled cheese sandwich, I’ll eat a grilled cheese sandwich.”

She also insisted that, despite her slim frame, she loves curves and fiercely supports her sister Jessica, who has been criticised for her voluptuous figure.

“It’s disgusting that people would say those things. My sister has an incredible body,” she said.

“What defines sexy is not someone’s weight.”

Pete Wentz Cares

If you think Pete Wentz is all about hair products and being Ashlee Simpson’s pimp and/or arm candy, think again. The Fall Out Boy bassist actually cares. Pete was in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday with Invisible Children – the non-profit organization aimed at raising awareness of the plight of children displaced by the bloody war in the Central African nation of Uganda. The so-called invisible children are kidnapped from their homes and forced to fight in the war. Pete was able to meet with members of congress including Senator Russell Feingold to try and bring more attention to the very serious issue.

Ashlee’s New Video

Ashlee Simpson is still a singer everyone! The younger Simpson has actually filmed a new music video for her song ‘Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya). The video was directed by Alan Ferguson earlier this month. It shows Ashlee seeking counseling after an opinion overload from the voices of her family, record executives, fans, haters and the media.

Pete Wentz told MTV news what he thought about the video saying “It’s probably the weirdest video I’ve seen of hers. It’s like a Salvador Dalí painting meets ‘Being John Malkovich’. She just went to this weird place for it. It has this kind of multiple personality, like the song does.”

The video will premiere on TRL on December 20.
