Beyonce says feminism has helped her have successful relationships with men
Pop superstar Beyonce has revealed that feminism has enabled her to have successful relationships with men.
The Crazy in Love singer, who is married to rap megastar Jay-Z, admits that having good friendships with women has kept her away from bad relationships with men.
The former Destiny’s Child singer told British You magazine: “I think I am a feminist in a way – it is not something I consciously decided I was going to be; perhaps it’s because I grew up in a singing group with other women, and that was so helpful to me.
“It kept me out of so much trouble and out of bad relationships.”
The 28-year-old added: “My friendships with my girls are just so much a part of me that there are things I am never going to do that would upset that bond.
“I never want to betray that friendship because I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women.”
And although friendship is one of Beyonce’s main priorities, she admits that she finds it hard to juggle all the important aspects of her life.
She added: “Probably the biggest challenge in my life is time – making sure I have time to be a wife, to be a singer, to be a songwriter, to be an actor and still have time for my clothing line and now for my perfume.”

Top 10 Highest Earning Musicians
Forbes has recently released the list of the top earning musicians of 2010. The top spot belonged to Irish rock band U2, which earned $131 million. AC/DC came in at number 2 with $114 million. Beyonce was the highest paid female singer at number 3, earning $87 million. Bruce Springsteen made it to number 4 with $70 million. Britney Spears raked in $64 million which landed her in the 5th spot. Jay-Z was at number 6 with $63 million. Lady Gaga was close at number 7 with $62 million. Madonna earned $58 million for the number 8 spot. Kenny Chesney raked in $50 million at number 9. The number 10 spot saw a three-way tie with the Black Eyed Peas, Toby Keith and Coldplay earning $48 million each.
Lady GaGa snags five awards
At the World Music Awards the star of the evening seems to have been Lady GaGa who won no less than five awards at the following categories: Best Album, Best Selling Artist from America, World’s Best Single, Best Pop/Rock Artist, Best New Artist. It’s pretty strange that none of the other pop princesses were there to grab an award or two of their own, but Beyonce is probably just concentrating on the upcoming BET Awards and Rihanna is nowhere to be seen lately. So that just leaves “the newcomer”, as one of her colleagues called her, as the obvious choice for the awards. Lady GaGa strikes again!
Britney Spears Does Lady Gaga
Before Lady Gaga recorded her worldwide hit song ‘Telephone’, the singer had originally written it for fellow princess of pop Britney Spears. For some reason, Britney passed n the song and Lady Gaga went on to record it herself with Beyonce. But someone on the inside thought that it would be travesty for fans to not hear Britney’s version and has leaked the song onto the internet. I don’t know why Britney decided to pass on it because the leaked demo is absolutely fierce! It would have been a certified hit if she had decided to take the song. I love it!
Beyonce asks Victoria Beckham to help style her for US gigs
Singer Beyonce has reportedly asked Victoria Beckham to help style her for her gigs in the US later this year.
The Single Ladies star, 28, is reportedly impressed with the fashion designer’s work and wants her to help design some of her outfits for her upcoming gigs.
A source said to UK newspaper Daily Mirror: “Beyonce is a big fan of Victoria’s work, and was given a couple of samples from the new collection – including some sunglasses, which she has been wearing at any given opportunity.
“Victoria was flattered and has agreed, in principle, to suggest some designs.
“While Beyonce already has the sunnies and a few dresses, it is Victoria’s more elegant full-length designs that she particularly loves as they are a real departure from her usual glitzy stage costumes.
“This collaboration could be the start of something big.”

Jay-Z Breaks Ground with Beyonce
Beyonce came out to support her hubby Jay-Z at the ceremonial groundbreaking for Barclays Center, the new arena for the New Jersey Nets, at Atlantic Yards last Thursday in Brooklyn, New York. The rapper said “What I stand here and represent is hope for Brooklyn, New York City. I’m a son of Brooklyn, I’m from Marcy projects. I think about growing up in Brooklyn in the Marcy projects and shooting jump shots, thinking I can make it to the NBA. Now I stand here as an owner of [the Nets] that’s coming back to Brooklyn. The pride in that, and bringing that dream so much closer for people, brings me so much pride I get a little nervous about it. But I’m very happy, very excited about this day. And we did it again Brooklyn — shout out to [Notorious] B.I.G.”
Rihanna to record single with Brit boy band JLS

Chart-topping star Rihanna has agreed to record a single with British band JLS.
The lads from JLS shot to fame after appearing on reality competition show The X-Factor.
The band – Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan “JB” Gill, and Oritsé Williams – were runners-up on the show but went on to sign a deal with Epic Records.
And now they have a whole host of hit stars lining up to record with them.
Rihanna has confirmed she will record a single with JLS before the end of the year – and she believes Beyonce and Kanye West will follow.
And the man behind the hook-up is none other than Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z.
He signed Rihanna to his label and is keen to develop JLS in America, so he’s putting the two acts together then plans to link JLS up with his missus and pal Kanye.
Rihanna told the Sun: “Working with JLS is something that will happen this year. Jay will make stars out of them. He has been a great mentor to me. He has been around long enough to spot real talent and he knows who will become worldwide stars.
“They can sing, they can dance, they look good, actually they look very good. But more importantly they look like a group. It doesn’t look like they have been put together. It looks like they are meant to be together.

Jay-Z is Hiding Something
It has been reported that Jay-Z is pulling out of a new racetrack casino endeavor in New York after learning that state officials wanted all backers to hand over detailed records of their finances and the rapper refuses to do it. The order would not only require a comprehensive overview of his personal finances but also those of his R&B singer wife, Beyonce. It will definitely reveal a lot of private details about their money and it will fall into the hands of a lot of people in New York. I wonder if there’s anything juicy there or if they’re just trying to keep their business their business.
Rihanna beats Beyonce in the top ten singles
It looks like concentrating on the work does pay off… at least for the moment. Rihanna has apparently beaten Beyonce’s record for number of top ten hit singles in the 2000’s by a female artist ever since her latest song, “Rude boy” was Rihanna’s fourteenth such accomplishment. Beyonce is probably regretting killing Sasha Fierce right about now, but it’s only a matter of time before she dumps babysitting her nephew and gets back to good old hard work. Rihanna’s victory might be very, very short lived. Hopefully she will enjoy it while she still can… maybe get Matt Kemp to throw her another little party.
Jay-Z’s presidential invitation
It seems that the rapper’s music is famous even among the highest of circles. The president of the United States, Barrack Obama, is quite the fan of Jay-Z and has even extended invitations to the White House for him. However, Jay-Z has never managed to go. This is what he said on the matter: “I’ve been invited to the White House a couple of times. Hopefully, we’ll keep him for eight years so I’ll have time to get there.” Well, certainly Jay-Z would find it in his best interest to visit the White House more often. After all, who knows when Barrack Obama might actually ask him for a loan for the US… either him or Beyonce, the great musical corporations of our times.
Singer Beyonce ’still overwhelmed’ by record-breaking Grammy night

Singer Beyonce says she is ’still overwhelmed’ by winning a record number of Grammy awards.
The 28-year-old star recently picked up six gongs at the ceremony in LA, bringing her total to 16.
She told UsMagazine.com: “I am still overwhelmed by Grammy night. I can’t believe I set a record. I am so thankful to everyone; my family, my friends, the label.
“I have worked so hard and it seems that it all paid off in that one night. I am still shaking.”
She stole the record from singers Lauryn Hill and Norah Jones, who each won five awards in 1999 and 2003 respectively.
Beyonce scooped up by robot in commercial

Beyonce was scooped up by a robot in a multimillion-dollar commercial aired during the Super Bowl.
The sexy singer starred in the ad playing herself before being pulled off the stage by a giant robotic arm.
The commercial was to promote American HDTV company Vizio and its rage of TVs that connect to the net.
Three-time Oscar nominee Wally Pfister, who is better known for his cinematography on The Dark Knight and Batman Begins, directed the spot.
Grammy Performers Announced
The list of Grammy performances is slowly coming together as it was recently announced that Beyonce and Taylor Swift will be performing at the 2010 Grammy Awards, as confirmed by People and ET. The R&B diva holds the most nominations this year with 10 nods while the country singer is close behind with 8 nods. Tune in to see what I’m sure will be great performances from the two as well as to see just how many trophies either of them would be raking in. The Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Lady Antebellum have also been announced to perform. The Grammys are set to air live on January 31, 2010 at 8PM ET/PT on CBS.
Beyonce and Jay-Z to change surnames

Beyonce and Jay-Z to change their respective surnames now they’re married
Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z – who married in April 2008 – are to take on both of their respective surnames in order to keep the Sweet Dreams singer’s parental line from dying out.
Jay-Z – whose real name is Shawn Carter – will now be known as Shawn Knowles-Carter, while Beyonce is to become Beyonce Knowles-Carter.
A source revealed: “They want to keep Knowles because Beyonce’s parents didn’t have any sons and they’re keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don’t produce any children themselves.”
Earlier this week, the Knowles family suffered a blow when it was announced that Beyonce’s parents Tina and Mathew would be divorcing after 29 years of marriage.
In October, rumours surfaced that Mathew may have been unfaithful, with a paternity suit filed by Alexandra Wright claiming he was the father of her unborn child – an allegation he has denied.
However, in a statement the estranged couple – who also have another daughter, Solange – claimed that the divorce would not be “an ugly, messy fight” and they would continue working together amicably.

Singer Beyonce made the night for one of her fans by giving her one of her earrings at a recent gig
Singer Beyonce made the night for one of her fans by giving her one of her earrings at a recent gig.
The 28-year-old star recently played a date on her tour at the Metro Arena in Newcastle when she spotted Shannon Quinn, 12, in the crowd and gave her the earring as a souvenir.
Quinn said: “She’s my favourite singer and it was great just to be at the gig.
“She seemed to have her eye on me and I couldn’t believe it when she took off one of her earrings and handed it to me. It’s the best thing ever.”
Quinn is from Bishopbriggs near Glasgow and travelled to Newcastle with her family to see the star. The party had their tickets upgraded for free when they arrived and were right next to the stage in the VIP area.
Quinn isn’t sure what she is going to do with the earrings but said: “I might get it made into a necklace.”
Beyonce has denied she is not attending MOBO awards in Glasgow because city is

Singer Beyonce has denied reports she is not attending the upcoming MOBO awards in Glasgow, Scotland because the city is “too white”.
Beyonce, 28, is nominated for an award at the bash but will not be attending the ceremony to pick up the gong.
After performing for cancer patients at a hospital in Singapore, the singer was asked about the rumours and she said: “That’s just not true.”
Former MOBO panelist Paul McKenzie said: “The real problem is getting the stars to go to Glasgow. I can understand why the MOBOs went to Glasgow – because they were having problems getting the council to foot the bill for security. But it doesn’t work.”
Beyonce’s team are insisting that the star was just not able to attend the bash.
An insider said: “The slur about Glasgow is just not true. Beyonce knows exactly where it is.
“I think you’ll find that Beyonce is not the type of person to be impressed by the idea that she would snub one city over the other. Glasgow was good enough for her when she toured the UK. She thought the audience were wonderful.”
Singer Beyonce has reportedly been targeted by extremists who want her to cancel one of her gigs

Singer Beyonce has reportedly been targeted by extremists who want her to cancel one of her gigs.
It is claimed the singer’s sexy outfits and stage routines have upset a right-wing Muslim party who call her routines “immoral” and a danger to young people.
The party are reportedly threatening to “take action” to stop the Sweet Dreams singer performing a show on her I Am… tour near to Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur, which is set for October 24.
Beyonce, 28, had to pull out of a gig in Malaysia two years ago because of the same issues.
The Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party said: “This performance is not suitable for Muslims – her attire and behaviour onstage are immoral.”
