Susan Boyle inks deal for autobiography

Susan Boyle

British singing sensation Susan Boyle has penned a new contract to write her autobiography charting her amazing rise to stardom.

Although Boyle lost out in the final of reality TV show Britain’s Got Talent, to dance troupe Diversity, she was signed to Simon Cowell’s label and her debut album I Dreamed A Dream was a massive hit.

Her publisher Transworld said the book, entitled The Woman I Was Born To Be, would address “the challenges she has struggled to overcome with faith, fortitude and an unfailing sense of humour”.

It added: “This astonishing transformation has not always been easy for Susan, faced with all the trappings of celebrity, but in the whirlwind of attention and expectation, she has always found calm and clarity in music. Susan was born to sing.”

Boyle said she was “a scared wee lassie, still grieving for my mother, not caring how I looked” when she first auditioned for the talent show.

She said: “I’m writing this book to try to show that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and I hope it will benefit other people.

“My story demonstrates that you shouldn’t just look at the label, you should look at the whole person, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually, and I hope that telling it will show that dreams are not impossible, if you’ve got courage and a willingness to go on no matter what the circumstances.”

Leona Lewis Speaks Out

After cancelling her book tour after getting assaulted, Leona Lewis took to her website to explain her side of the story. The singer wrote “Thank you so much for your support it is truly overwhelming. Yesterday was a horrible shock and left me extremely hurt and upset. I’m very sorry to those I wasn’t able to meet at the signing. Thank you again for all of the lovely messages.” Not only is she a darling when it comes to her music, she’s a darling when it comes to being a celebrity. I’m pretty sure that there’s not a lot of celebrities would be so gracious after being punched in the head.

Kanye West Pens Book

Kanye West has pretty much done everything in the world so why not let him have a go at being an author? The musician is planning on compiling a new book documenting his successful Glow in the Dark Tour with behind-the-scenes photos, concept art, commentary and a best of CD from the tour’s set list. Charles Miers of publishing house Rizzoli New York said “Kanye West has turned his talents as pop artist to books. With a CD that includes Star Wars-like symphonics from the show as well as (an) interview with Spike Jonze, it is not only a memento of one of the most successful musical performances of the year, it is an experience all (of) its own.” Let’s hope he doesn’t write in all caps.

Britney Spears Autobiography

Britney Spears is on a roll with her comeback and the next move on the list is her very own autobiography. The book promises to be a no-holds barred account. The recovered pop princess, or maybe her ghost writer, will use personal diary entries to recount her experiences in a 3 to 5 book series. Really? I didn’t even know she can make full sentences on her own. Apparently, she has already signed up with a literary agent and signed a $14 million book deal to begin writing once her world tour wraps up. It will be the first book to be written by the singer – or so her people want us to think.

Madonna for Anything but Malawi

In 2007, Madonna gave a bunch of money to Kabbalah. While that’s not surprising, it is a shock to learn that there’s a lack of donations toward her organization in Malawi this past 2008. Of the $3.1 million the singer gave out last year, $2.6 million went to the Kabbalah Center of Los Angeles. About $4000 went to the center’s Spiritualty for Kids from the sales of her children’s books. The rest went o several other charities for the fight against AIDS, cancer research, churches and health organizations. Surprisingly, there was none given to her own Raising Malawi charity or any other Malawian organizations. No one even knows what happened to the $3.7 million earned from her fundraiser with Gucci and UNICEF.

Female Ex-Con Rappers Get Sued

Foxy Brown and Lil Kim are back in trouble – for the same thing. New York publishers Simon & Schuster are suing both rappers saying that they were paid advances for books that they never delivered on. According to the company, Foxy was paid $75,000 back in 2005 to deliver her autobiography ‘Broken Silence’ by February 2006. Lil Kim was paid $40,000 back in 2003 for a novel which was to be turned in by June 2004. After a good amount of time, the company wants their money back. In the girls’ defense, they were imprisoned for some time. But then again, the dates of their imprisonment was still after the dates for their book releases.

Eminem’s Mom is Dying

eminem.jpg

Debbie Nelson, Eminem’s mother, is writing a book about her relationship with her son. Personally, I think it’s a few years late for it but she has her reasons. Sources close to the rapper’s mom have revealed that Debbie is writing a book about her famous son because she needs some cash to pay the medical bills.

An insider leaks out that Debbie is about to die of stage 4 breast cancer. “She needs the money to pay medical bills and he won’t talk to her so that’s her open letter to him.” The source also adds that “Em agreed to try to help her pay some medical bills and try to get her insurance but couldn’t because of the pre-existing medical condition.”

Kanye West To Pen Book Of ‘Philosophies & Anecdotes’

kanye_west-photo.jpg

Kanye West is set to add author to his resume, with a new book of “insightful philosophies and anecdotes.” The rapper has teamed up with J. Sakiya Sandifer to pen Thank You And You’re Welcome, which will hit book stores early in 2008. I can sum up Kanye’s philosophies so you won’t have to buy the book: 1. Make unoriginal music and claim to be groundbreaking 2. Act like a giant douche 3. Cash checks and wallow in money. Can you ever think that a man who has – I am a complete shit piece, written all over him tell the writer anything about ‘insightful philosophies’. I think it’s another idea that he has caught on from some else and thinks that while he has no work to do in the music field he might as well sell some book things under his name hoping people would be interested in what shit stuff he has to say. Folks it’s basically the idea of the author and his work with the author’s and Kanye’s name appearing alongside on the book, nothing else. So all of you people, please do not get tricked by his stupid idea.

Britney’s Booklet Gets Leaked

britney-spears-booklet.JPG

Much like the last Harry Potter book except no one really cares for this one, Britney Spears’ CD booklet for her upcoming album ‘Blackout’ has been leaked. Photos of the cover and each page of the booklet popped up on line earlier in the week.

The entire CD has also leaked and some are saying that the top three tracks are ‘Hot as Ice’, ‘Piece of Me’ and ‘Break the Ice’. Her album is scheduled to be released nationwide on Tuesday, October 30th.

Who’s willing to bet that the leak was another publicity stunt to create more hype for her comeback album? Newsflash folks, it’s not working.
