Carrie Underwood Gets Married

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are officially married! The country singer and her hockey player love got married this past Saturday at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia. 250 family members and friends came to celebrate the wedding. The couple gave a statement to People saying “We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!” They even signed the statement with “Mike & Carrie Fisher”. How sweet is that? Congratulations to the happy couple! I hope they have many happy years of marriage.

Carrie Underwood Wedding in Two Weeks

Breaking news! Carrie Underwood will reportedly tie the knot with pro hockey player Mike Fisher on July 10 – at least that’s according to Life& Style magazine. As for the honeymoon, Mike has reportedly booked an 11-day post-wedding vacation for him and his country singer fiancé. Carrie and Mike will visit Tahitian cities Papeete and Raiatea and then continue their exotic getaway in Bora Bora. Do the math and you’d figure out that the wedding is just two weeks away! I’m so excited for this! I want lots of pictures. I can just imagine how beautiful Carrie would look like in a wedding dress.

American Idol Finale Week

It’s almost over and everyone is gearing up for the big finale on American Idol tonight. There are several performers and a couple of Idol alums slated to appear. Kris Allen, Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera and Enrique Iglesias are all confirmed to perform. Taylor Hicks and Elliot Yamin will also perform a duet. The 2 finalists are said to be singing with Joe Cocker. Paula Abdul will also be making her Idol return in a video tribute to Simon Cowell along with more past Idol contestants. Janet Jackson, Chicago, the Bee Gees and Hall & Oats are also rumored to be taking part of the show.
The only thing we do not know for sure, who will win American Idol 2010?

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Help Nashville

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will lend a helping hand to help the victims of the devastating flood in Nashville. The two country singers have organized a special concert on June 22 to raise money to benefit the city. The show, entitled Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery, will include performances from Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes and more. Tim and Faith said “The damage that we’ve seen to people’s homes and the effect that the flooding has had on their lives is unimaginable. But we’ve seen the spirit of our community firsthand, as volunteers, church groups and our local business leaders rally to help. We all need to continue to support those in need in any way that we can, and for that reason we could not be more appreciative to all of the artists, the companies and the people behind the scenes who collectively will make June 22 a truly special night.”

The performers for this year’s Idol Gives Back have been announced! Alicia Keys, The Black Eyed Peas, Annie Lennox, Jeff Beck and American Idol’s own Carrie Underwood will be performing on the April 21 special. This year’s special will help raise awareness and funds to benefit charities, including Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children’s US Programs and the United Nations Foundation. Tune in to the show and find out how you can do your part to help in whatever way you can. Carrie Underwood and Queen Latifah Cover Comedy Song

Carrie Underwood and Queen Latifah attended the Pregame Show and National Anthem Press Conference at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center as part of media week for Super Bowl XLIV last week in Florida. At the conference, the 28-year old American Idol alum and the 39-year old rapper turned singer broke out and sang the comedy pop culture song ‘Pants on the Ground’. Carrie said “As a songwriter I know we all aspire to write something that is catchy and has a message. And I think the youth of America can learn a lot from Pants on the Ground. And they can pull their pants up … because it causes all kinds of back problems. I’ve seen the studies.”

Carrie Underwood on “Pants on the ground”

Since Carrie Underwood actually had the privilege of singing the national anthem at this year’s Super Bowl she also got to go to the press conference. There she was asked on where she stands regarding Larry Platt’s “Pants on the ground” and this is what Carrie Underwood replied on the matter: “That’s music with a message. And as a songwriter I know we all aspire to write something that is catchy and has a message. And I think the youth of America can learn a lot from “Pants on the ground”… and they can pull their pants up caus’ it causes a lot of back problems. I’ve seen the studies!” It’s a good thing that Carrie Underwood supports such endeavors… it’s important to teach American youth to keep their pants up… you never know what other horrible things might happen if they don’t.

American Idol Reunion at AMAs

This year’s American Music Awards might as well be touted as an American Idol reunion. Why? It just so happens that Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry’s band, Daughtry, are all scheduled to perform at the awards show on November 22nd. They would pretty much cover half of the performances on the show. And I can just guess that country singer Carrie will be racking up a couple of awards too. That’s quite an empire that Simon Cowell and the rest of them have built. Will you be tuning in to see that Idols on the show?

Carrie Underwood Christmas

First, Jennifer Hudson got herself a holiday show. Now, Carrie Underwood just jumped the bandwagon too. The sweetheart of a country singer and American Idol winner will be hosting a variety special for Fox this holiday season. The two-hour special event called ‘Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special’ will air on December 7th. What an original title. If I had to guess, the show will be filled by an endless parade of former Idol contestants and country singers singing a slew of holiday songs. I can just kill myself with the happiness bubbling inside me. So who’s going to watch this one?

Carrie Underwood Rakes in Big Money

Carrie Underwood has had picture perfect success recently. While the 26-year old American Idol alum has seen nothing but that since she started her professional career, she’s still giving us reminders that she’s on top. Carrie was revealed to have raked in $14 million last year. She was far and away the top earner for all Idol alums. Jennifer Hudson came in second with $5 million, Kelly Clarkson with $4.2 million, Jordin Sparks with $3.1 million and rounding out the top 5 was Kellie Pickler with $2.3 million. Hmm, I wonder why David Cook and David Archuleta aren’t on the list.

Carrie Underwood at CMAs

Carrie Underwood posed with her recently won award for Female Vocalist of the Year in the press room during the 2008 Annual CMA Awards which were held at the Sommet Center last week in Nashville, Tennessee. The 25-year old American Idol winner won her third consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year award. She also co-hosted the show with Brad Paisley. It looks like everything is going good for Carrie. I can’t say the same for Jessica Simpson though who wasn’t even invited to the event. Maybe Carrie’s rider called for it. Carrie wasn’t the only one who snag a repeat win though as Kenny Chesney won Entertainer of the Year for a fourth time at the show and Rascal Flatts took home the Best Vocal Group award for the sixth consecutive year. Congrats to all the winners!

New Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood has just released a new video for her new single ‘Just a Dream’. It’s the fourth single from her second studio album ‘Carnival Ride’. The video, which was directed by Roman White, follows a young woman who is about to get married only to find out that her husband-to-be soldier has been killed in combat. Upon realizing that the love of her life is dead, she wishes that it were just a dream and that her husband is still alive. I haven’t seen the video yet and I can tell that I might need a tissue for when I do get to watch it.

Carrie Underwood at CMT Awards

Carrie Underwood struck a glamorous pose in a purple one-strap mini as she attended the 2008 CMT Music Awards which was held at the Curb Events Center at Belmont University on Monday is Nashville, Tennessee. The only thing that would have been better than this is if she has a hunk of a man beside her. Carrie is way too hot to not have a man! Damn you Chace Crawford! Anyway, the American Idol alum not only attended the show but she also performed. Other performers at the ceremony were Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Toby Keith.

Carrie Underwood Does Rihanna

carrie-underwood-does-rihanna.jpg

Rihanna’s hit song ‘Umbrella’ has been covered by so many artists that it has to have taken the title of being the most covered song since Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’. Practically everyone has done their version of the Barbadian singer’s instant classic – whether they be in rock, pop, classical or even country! Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban are the latest to take part in the craze as they actually do a duet of the song during their concerts. You can’t blame anyone for the covers though. The song is good, it’s catchy and it’s versatile. Almost nothing can go wrong with that – unless of course Heidi Montag decides to make a duet with Rihanna too.

Carrie Underwood on Women’s Health

carrie-underwood.jpg

American Idol alum, one of the few that hasn’t been dropped by a record label, Carrie Underwood is in the January/February issue of Women’s Health magazine. In her cover article, she gets asked about everything from Tony Romo, being a vegetarian and wanting to be a news anchor. But what was most interesting for me was when she spoke of her weakness for 80s hair metal.

“I remember singing Motley Crue’s remake of ‘Smokin’ in the Boys’ Room’ in front of the mirror. That was the age of the real ‘rock star.’ I would like to have experienced that first-hand.” Who knew that the little country girl liked to head bang?

Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers Rock Eve

jonas-brothers.jpg

It’s almost the new year and that means that it’s almost time for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2008 which will air on Monday, December 31 on ABC. These years performers include Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers.

The 15-year old star of Hannah Montana was seen exiting her New York City Hotel on Sunday carrying a lovable pooch on the way to a concert. The Jonas Brothers were also seen exiting their hotel in NYC to get pumped for their performance.

Well, I’m getting pumped too! Happy New Year everyone! May 2008 be a good year for you.
