The mum of troubled Amy Winehouse says she is too ill to help control her junkie daughter.
Janis Winehouse, 52, suffers from multiple sclerosis and fears the stress of assisting the singer could make it worse. She said: “I just can’t do all that running around to wherever there’s been a problem.”
Janis’s ex husband, cabbie Mitch, has often tried to help Amy, 24, battle her addiction. She said: “He does a great job on behalf of both of us.”
Someone’s got to…

Amy Winehouse’s dad reckons he is to blame for her troubled life. Mitch believes his affair with another woman pushed his daughter over the edge after he embarked on an illicit relationship soon after the singer was born.
Amy and her older brother Alex grew up aware of the mistress and even had a special name for her - referring to her as ‘Daddy’s work wife’.
The lyrics Amy penned for track What It Is About Men hints towards domestic baggage, with the line: “All the s**t my mother went through.”
Taxi driver Mitch married Amy’s mum Janis in 1976 - with Amy arriving in 1983. But 18 months later, he fell for a colleague he was working with in a double-glazing firm. Their extramarital affair continued for almost a decade before Mitch eventually left his family to move in with his mistress - and then married her in 1996.
Mitch, who now lives with his second wife, said: “The children used to call Jane ‘Daddy’s work wife’. I did not leave home until Amy was ten, so the situation occurred for another eight or nine years before I left home. It was difficult.”
“I should have left earlier, I should have left sooner. There was not really a negative response from Amy (when I left), but she definitely became a lot more independent.
Perhaps deep down she felt her parents were splitting up, she could not rely on them to stay together and that it was about time she learned to look after herself. I thought Amy was over it pretty quickly - in fact it felt at the time Amy felt no effect at all. Maybe she could not articulate it in words, but she certainly did it with music.”
Talking of Amy’s drug and drink abuse, he opened up about her seizure last August and confirmed doctors warned her she could die if she continued taking drugs. He added: “She could die horribly. That is not going to happen - that cannot happen. It is easy for me to say it is my fault, and that had I been a better parent this would not have happened. But who knows whether it would or not?”

Rihanna’s hit song ‘Umbrella’ has been covered by so many artists that it has to have taken the title of being the most covered song since Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’. Practically everyone has done their version of the Barbadian singer’s instant classic – whether they be in rock, pop, classical or even country! Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban are the latest to take part in the craze as they actually do a duet of the song during their concerts. You can’t blame anyone for the covers though. The song is good, it’s catchy and it’s versatile. Almost nothing can go wrong with that – unless of course Heidi Montag decides to make a duet with Rihanna too.

While we are used to hearing steroids accusations against athletes, it is less common to hear celebrities linked to the scandals. That is about to change.
According to the Albany Times Union, an investigation is underway regarding steroids trafficking. The people involved? So far the list includes Mary J. Blige, Timbaland, 50 Cent, Wyclef Jean, and Tyler Perry.
No one’s rep would comment at this time.

American Idol alum, one of the few that hasn’t been dropped by a record label, Carrie Underwood is in the January/February issue of Women’s Health magazine. In her cover article, she gets asked about everything from Tony Romo, being a vegetarian and wanting to be a news anchor. But what was most interesting for me was when she spoke of her weakness for 80s hair metal.
“I remember singing Motley Crue’s remake of ‘Smokin’ in the Boys’ Room’ in front of the mirror. That was the age of the real ‘rock star.’ I would like to have experienced that first-hand.” Who knew that the little country girl liked to head bang?

Only yesterday did I write about how Lily Allen’s bitchiness ought to be cured due to a sudden gain in self confidence. Well I take it all back, because now the singer has gone one step further and has snubbed the very man who helped make her a popstar in the first place. Oh. My. God.
The word idiot comes to mind.
Mark Ronson was one of the producers behind Lily’s smash hit debut album Alright, Still. But he has since revealed Lily has been ignoring him, saying “Lily has been working on her new album, but I’m probably not going to be on it as she hasn’t been returning any of my calls.
It has been 18 months since Lily’s last release so it is about time we heard from her again. But snubbing her friends and the people who made her is not going to help. And she thinks she’s not a bitch…

December 30 will mark the anniversary of R&B singer Brandy being involved in a multiply car crash that killed Awatef Aboudihaj yet the LA City Attorney’s Office is yet to file any criminal charges against the singer. The clock is ticking.
Sources are saying that the City Attorney’s Office plans to make the decision at the very last moment. However, if charges aren’t filed, the case would quietly go away. It’s something that Bill Sayed, the lawyer for the victim’s husband, Marouane Hdidou. Sayed questions the delay and speaks of how Brandy continues to live her life without any negative effects unlike his client who’s been forced to spend his holidays and the rest of his life alone.

When you go off to use something, make sure someone else doesn’t own it, k?
The Red Hot Chili Peppers filed a lawsuit earlier in the week against Showtime Networks over a new show called ‘Californication’. And if your memory can go back to 1999, the band released a hit album and a hit single with the same name. The said album was even named as one of Rolling Stone’s Top 500 Albums of All Time.
The suit alleges that Showtime violated federal trademark law. In a statement made by lead singer Anthony Kiedis, “’Californication’ is the signature CD, video and song of the band’s career. For some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right.”

Chris Brown’s Kiss Kiss hit has claimed a third week at the top of the singles chart. The track held off competition from Alicia Keys’ No One, which jumped up a spot to number two on the new chart. I Like His Song Wall to Wall as well. What’s excited me is that I always love it when there are fresh new stars that top the charts rather than having the likes of Justin Timberlake, 50 Cent, Jay-Z and Kanye West dominate the charts. It argues well for the music industry to have new stars on the scene like Soulja Boy and Sean Kingston. Timbaland’s Apologize slides to three, while Soulja Boy’s Crank That (Soulja Boy) refuses to slip out of the top five - it holds steady at four. Three week’s at the top is like it has to be great music and people are buying the CDs a lot give the number the thrust to remain on top of the singles chart.

Although Somewhere in the Between is the third full-length release by Streetlight Manifesto, longtime fans are more likely to view it as the band’s sophomore effort. 2006’s Keasbey Nights was, for all intents and purposes, a refurbished replica of the Catch-22 album by the same name, complete with the same vocalist and few (if any) musical changes. This makes Somewhere in the Between the band’s first effort of all-original material in nearly five years, and Streetlight Manifesto is no longer the fresh-faced group that once rose from Catch-22’s ska/punk ashes. They’ve spent a half-decade on the road, touring with ska stalwarts like Reel Big Fish while weathering lineup changes and several robberies of their equipment-filled van. Losing treasured bandmates and expensive instruments would dampen anyone’s spirits, and Streetlight Manifesto does sound a bit less reckless here, but not at the expense of the group’s peppy ska/punk appeal. The rasp is still there, but so is a focused tone that we haven’t heard before, particularly during the subdued intro to “Down, Down, Down to Mephisto’s Café.” Despite his improved vocals, Kalnoky remains the most punked-out member of the band, whose other members play their horn lines and guitar chords with crisp, bright precision. It’s this balanced relationship — clear orchestration and jaunty tempos paired with rasped melodies about the macabre (”Would You Be Impressed”), war (”Watch It Crash”), and sin (”Forty Days”) — that ultimately governs the album, and even if Somewhere in the Between can’t match the raucous nature of the band’s debut, it’s nevertheless a catchy follow-up.

British pop star Natasha Bedingfield probably hasn’t seen a lot of mechanical bulls as she was growing up in London but that little detail did not stop the beauty from getting on and taming the robotic ride. Sure, the ride may not have been too rambunctious since it was solar-powered, but hey, mechanical bull nonetheless!
The whole thing was part of the green delights at IdealBite.com’s Garden of Hedonism Party which even saw ‘Legally Blonde’ star Jennifer Coolidge sipping on organic wine as she was cheering for Natasha.
So no, the British singer is not and will not be part of the same cowboy reality series that Bobby Brown is on.

In a way, it’s like Garth Brooks never retired. He may have stopped touring and releasing new music, but he kept repackaging and reissuing his older albums, striking up an exclusive deal with Wal-Mart highlighted by a second box set called The Limited Series in 2006.
Where previous Garth repackagings could seem a little unnecessary — it’s not quite clear just how many of his fans needed that second Limited Series anyway — The Ultimate Hits actually fills in a needed gap within his catalog, as Brooks hasn’t had a hit compilation since his first, the 1994 The Hits. That disc was a “limited edition” at least in theory — there were so many copies pressed it wasn’t exactly rare — and out of print since the mid-’90s, so it wasn’t available in most retail stores, plus it didn’t cover all the hits he had between its release and his retirement.
The Ultimate Hits does exactly that, containing all 18 tracks from The Hits (albeit not in the same sequencing), adding 12 hits that he had in the last half of the ’90s, along with four new songs highlighted by a cover of Huey Lewis & the News’ “Workin’ for a Livin’.” The new songs are a nice touch, but the real purpose of this set is to offer casual fans a way to get all of Brooks’ best-known hits in one package, and in that regard The Ultimate Hits not only succeeds, it’s long overdue.

If there’s still doubt about it, this should erase them all. The Backstreet Boys are most definitely back!
Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean made their first live TV debut performance as the newly reformed group of four on the Wednesday edition of Regis & Kelly Halloween special.
The foursome performed their new single ‘Inconsolable’ off their latest album ‘Unbreakable’ which has already hit the stores this week.
I still think it’s odd to not see a boy band with five people in it. There’s the former Backstreet Boys, the former 5ive, the former NSYNC. But hey, whatever.

Kanye West is set to add author to his resume, with a new book of “insightful philosophies and anecdotes.” The rapper has teamed up with J. Sakiya Sandifer to pen Thank You And You’re Welcome, which will hit book stores early in 2008. I can sum up Kanye’s philosophies so you won’t have to buy the book: 1. Make unoriginal music and claim to be groundbreaking 2. Act like a giant douche 3. Cash checks and wallow in money. Can you ever think that a man who has – I am a complete shit piece, written all over him tell the writer anything about ‘insightful philosophies’. I think it’s another idea that he has caught on from some else and thinks that while he has no work to do in the music field he might as well sell some book things under his name hoping people would be interested in what shit stuff he has to say. Folks it’s basically the idea of the author and his work with the author’s and Kanye’s name appearing alongside on the book, nothing else. So all of you people, please do not get tricked by his stupid idea.

Much like the last Harry Potter book except no one really cares for this one, Britney Spears’ CD booklet for her upcoming album ‘Blackout’ has been leaked. Photos of the cover and each page of the booklet popped up on line earlier in the week.
The entire CD has also leaked and some are saying that the top three tracks are ‘Hot as Ice’, ‘Piece of Me’ and ‘Break the Ice’. Her album is scheduled to be released nationwide on Tuesday, October 30th.
Who’s willing to bet that the leak was another publicity stunt to create more hype for her comeback album? Newsflash folks, it’s not working.

Try and try until you succeed. That’s a line that Kelly Clarkson seems to believe.
Despite her latest album ‘My December’ being a certified flop commercially, Kelly is still intent on going on tour in support of the record. She had to cancel an arena tour this past summer due to poor ticket sales. A tour went on though, just in smaller venues.
She also has no plans to record another album any time soon. Doesn’t she want to get her name and her music out of the dirt? A new and better album is the only way Kelly! Get your act together before you turn into Britney.

The family that rocks together stays together. In the case of the Tyler family, that most definitely holds true.
Liv Tyler took her 2 ½ old son Milo on stage with her to watch her 59-year old father Steven Tyler, the lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith, do his thing during a concert at the Molson Amphitheater on Monday in Toronto Canada. To make sure that Milo doesn’t hurt himself with all the noise, he wore protective noise-canceling headphones.
Milo is definitely growing up on rock because his dad, Royston Langdon, also happens to be a rock musician. Royston is the lead singer and bass player for the band Arckid.

Believe it or not, at least I am not the one who going to read much into this story at all. Would you believe it that a sensational performer like Jennifer Lopez would like to share the stage with a 7 year old split up group who wants to make some money by reuniting.
Well if the reports are true then here is the story who ever wants to read it, ‘J Lo is keen to perform with the Spice Girls who are planning to reunite for a world tour. Lopez is good friends with Victoria Beckham and wants to join girls group, which will perform in Los Angeles later this year.’ Another piece of attempt to try and keep the momentum going for the Spice Girls enroute to their world tour which is slated to begin at the end of this year. Most people have lost interest in the Spice Girls and with so many more significant reunions happening this year their reunion seems to have been overshadowed.

Hip-hop superstar 50 Cent marked the end of his five-day New York City tour by inviting pals Remy Ma and LL Cool J to join him onstage. The rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - was performing at Rum Jungle in his native Queens on Sunday night, when he invited Remy Ma to sing his track Lean Back. 50 Cent is currently co-producing LL Cool J’s new album. He just brought his friends on stage to show his fans that he has a couple friends that can show up for him. He is reeling under the loss to rival Kanye West after not being able to sell more copies of his album against that of Kanye’s. This has hurt him and while onstage he wanted to show his fans that he might have lost the battle to Kanye but he is not giving up just yet and will use all his sources to show Kanye that 50 Cent means business and will not give up without a fight.

It’s a mad, mad world out there—and details about Britney Spears’ family court proceedings won’t make it any saner, according to the struggling pop star’s attorney. Ok yeah K-fed is money hungry, we all know this. But at this point, which of a lesser two evils is better? On one hand you have a father who yes goes out, but also makes time to spend with his kids, who is trying to work, and actually doesn’t cut the children off from the rest of their family. Then you have Britney who seems to have some mental issues to get over, with her erratic mood swings, personally I think it’s Child actor syndrome gone mad. But you have a mom who doesn’t seem to want anyone around her who would help point her in a right direction in the goals of common sense in life. She has alienated 90% of the people in her inner circle who love and care about her and seems to put being in the media spot light before the needs of her children. It’s clear she needs the spotlight but right now those two little boys should be the spotlight and if Kevin needs more money to support them then he should have it and the kids full time. Like I said the lesser of two evils.
