American Idol Reunion at AMAs

This year’s American Music Awards might as well be touted as an American Idol reunion. Why? It just so happens that Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry’s band, Daughtry, are all scheduled to perform at the awards show on November 22nd. They would pretty much cover half of the performances on the show. And I can just guess that country singer Carrie will be racking up a couple of awards too. That’s quite an empire that Simon Cowell and the rest of them have built. Will you be tuning in to see that Idols on the show?

American Idol Rant

Former American Idol finalist Chris Slight wants the contestants from this past season of the reality TV talent show to know that they are worthless and they better get used to it. The never even has-been singer took to his blog to rant about his fellow alums and warn them that their minor success is about to burn out. Chris wrote: “You’re not going to be successful. You’re not going to be millionaires (with the exception of MAYBE Kris and Adam). No one will care about you. Those fans who’ve been asking for your autograph all tour long — 98 percent of them don’t give a flying poo about you once next season of ‘Idol’ starts. In other words, your days of being a star are over. But that’s all right — so are mine.” I’m not going to deny it because a lot of the Idol alums don’t have careers but he’s really coming off as bitter. Chris Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson didn’t win but they went on to have very successful music and/or film careers.
