Christina Aguilera Sings for the Arts
Christina Aguilera is well on her way to getting redemption for musical butchery as the 29-year old powerhouse singer is lending her voice to a fundraiser in support of the arts. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s latest project is the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Pavilion, described as “the largest purpose-built, naturally lit, open-plan museum space in the world.” Christina will perform at the grand opening. The gala is open to the public so if you feel like watching her rework some magic in a classy setting, be ready to shell out $5000. While it seems like a lot, as long as Christina doesn’t perform any of her new music, it should be worth it.
New Video from Christina Aguilera ‘You Lost Me’
Christina Aguilera recently premiered her new music video for her latest single ‘You Lost Me’. The 29-year old powerhouse singer recently caught up with ET during her video shoot and dished on her inspiration for the video. Christina said “What I wanted was a very raw and real feeling, kind of falling apart of your whole world. I have to credit Sia for coming to me with this idea and this concept in general!” The pop star also said that she’s channeled emotions from her past experiences to inspire her. She said “I draw upon pain of other situations from my life to put into storytelling….pain is almost a comfort zone for me.”

Christina Aguilera is preparing to release a new video to a song from the “Bionic” album. This time, Christina is working on the video for the song “You Lost Me”, and the first teaser can already be seen online. “ From the first notes, I knew it will be an emotional and transforming video” declared the director, Anthony Mandler. The video is a trip in Christina’s own world, where nothing is what it seems, where everything is fragile. The video will show Christina in a relationship with an infidel lover. All the action takes place in a house in flames.

MIA Talks Christina Aguilera
MIA has been on a warpath against some big celebrities lately but the rapper was surprisingly calm when she discussed collaborating with Christina Aguilera on her new album ‘Bionic’ and was equally disappointed as everyone when the powerhouse singer chose to mimic MIA’s style instead of show off her own pipes. MIA said “I really thought I was going to be able to go in there and get her vocals on to the next level and she didn’t want to do it. She was like ‘You might think that’s great because it’s not what you do, but to me I’m really bored of it. It’s interesting getting to work with people who can do things vocally that you can’t… but yeah I only heard the song for the first time when everyone else did.” When it comes to talking about flops, MIA foregoes being a nonconformist and just says what she feels which just happens to be how everyone else feels. You suck Christina!
Christina Aguilera is Officially a Flop
Christina Aguilera’s less than stellar new album ‘Bionic’ debuted at a very disappointing number 3 spot on the US sales chart. While some of you may not think that’s bad, 29-year old powerhouse singer got beat out by two soundtracks! The top spot going to ‘Glee’ and the number 2 spot going to ‘Eclipse’. If that’s not bad enough news for her, Christina only managed to sell 111,838 copies of her new album. That’s only a fraction of what ‘Back to Basics’ did in its first week, selling 346,000. It’s official, her new music is a flop. Sorry Christina. It’s a fact.
Good and Bad News for Christina Aguilera
I have some good news for Christina Aguilera! Despite the crappy music that she’s put out in her new album ‘Bionic’, the 29-year old powerhouse singer has managed to reach the top of the UK charts this week. However, the bad news is that it also happens to be the number one worst sales debut ever with only 24,000 copies sold. I’m not sure whether to say congratulations or I’m sorry. She can make up as many excuses as she wants for postponing her tour but no one can make excuses about those sales numbers. I think it would actually do her more good if she came out to say that she is a flop.
Christina Aguilera Cancels Tour
Christina Aguilera has cancelled her summer tour across North America. Sources are saying that poor ticket sales are to blame for the plug being pulled but her camp claims otherwise. They are saying that the tour is just postponed until 2011. In a statement from tour promoters Live Nation, the powerhouse singer announced that the tour has been moved due to prior commitments she had to make for promoting her new album ‘Bionic’ which leaked this week and her upcoming film debut ‘Burlesque’ which is slated for November. The statement read “The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible.”
American Idol Finale Week
It’s almost over and everyone is gearing up for the big finale on American Idol tonight. There are several performers and a couple of Idol alums slated to appear. Kris Allen, Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera and Enrique Iglesias are all confirmed to perform. Taylor Hicks and Elliot Yamin will also perform a duet. The 2 finalists are said to be singing with Joe Cocker. Paula Abdul will also be making her Idol return in a video tribute to Simon Cowell along with more past Idol contestants. Janet Jackson, Chicago, the Bee Gees and Hall & Oats are also rumored to be taking part of the show.
The only thing we do not know for sure, who will win American Idol 2010?
Christina Aguilera Addresses Lady Gaga Beef
Christina Aguilera has realized that the really deep hole she dug for herself can’t get much deeper so the singer decided to take to her website to issue a statement regarding her beef with Lady Gaga. Christina said “I would like to take a moment to clarify something that has been brought to my attention this morning. It is very easy for comments to be taken out of context and create unnecessary drama-especially between us women. So I would like to tell you all directly so my words cannot be misconstrued to sell someone else’s story…I have absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga or any other female artist in this business. I think she is great, and I appreciate any woman fearless enough to go against the norm. She has earned her success with hard work and a clear focus and I have nothing but respect for that. There is room for all of us on everyone’s iPods. This is not the first time I have been unfairly pitted against another female artist but it will be the last time I comment on the matter.”
Christina Aguilera Covers Latina Magazine
Christina Aguilera is featured on the cover of the June 2010 issue of Latina magazine. The 29-year old powerhouse singer recently sat down to chat about her new record ‘Bionic’ for interviews posted on her official website. In the first interview, Christina spoke about what the album means to her and what it was like to collaborate with artists including Sia, Ladytron, Goldfrapp and more. She said “I wanted to step into their world and then combine that with my sound and vision and it was magic! It was pure magic.” Unfortunately, I have yet to hear what magic she’s talking about with the music that I’ve heard from the album so far.
Christina Aguilera on MTV Movie Awards
Christina Aguilera will be rocking the house at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards which will be held on June 6th. Unfortunately, she’ll be doing so with her crappy single ‘Not Myself Tonight’. The powerhouse singer spoke to MTV about her upcoming performance saying “MTV has always been a supporter of my music and my career and I am so excited to perform once again on the Movie Awards. My performance comes just days before the release of my album Bionic.” Talk about a shameless plug. Other celebrities who will be appearing on the show include Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Miranda Cosgrove.

Akon Talks Christina Aguilera
Hip hop star Akon felt the need to drop his two cents on a debate floating around pitting Lady Gaga against Christina Aguilera. Akon told VIBE that there was no competition because the 29-year old powerhouse singer gets too much credit. He said “She always had her cool little look and way about how she went about things. But soon as Gaga came out everything switched up. Christina stepped out of her own shell to become something different. And the crazy thing is Christina is really talented. She has unlimited range when it comes to singing. Her voice is out of here. I just think she just needs to believe in herself more. I think sometimes she gets insecure because of all of the success Gaga has had not realizing that she was already successful before Gaga came out … I miss the old Christina Aguilera. I like the old one better than the new one. Honestly, Gaga and Christina could probably get together and do something that’s amazing. But that’s impossible if they are both trying to do the same exact thing musically.”
Christina Aguilera in Guatemala
Not only has Christina Aguilera lent her voice and image to a PSA for the World Hunger Relief campaign, but the pop singer has also just returned from a trip to Guatemala where she witnessed starvation and malnutrition first hand. She said “I wanted to see with my own eyes what hunger means. As a mom my heart just breaks when I see how young mothers… struggle to feed their children. I don’t think I can ever forget these images. The people of WFP do such a great job helping hungry children and mothers. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful project and incredible team.”

Christina Aguilera Keeps Coy on New Album
Christina Aguilera is still keeping quiet about the details of her upcoming album but the singer recently told APE radio station last week that “I can’t let too much out the bag too soon. I just can’t, ‘cause I really want you guys to be surprised and to experience firsthand what I’m talking about or what I’m not talking too much about. Too soon in the game, but wrapping everything up now. I think I’m most proud of this work than I’ve ever been, just because I worked with so many amazing and incredibly talented people. [Sia and I] did a lot of work on this record together, and she’s just a complete gem. She’s truly just such a talented force to be reckoned with. And I so enjoyed her company, and I think we really created some super crazy magic together. I got a chance to sort of write with Santigold, M.I.A., Lady Tron — artists that I really love.”
Christina Aguilera for the Grammys

Christina Aguilera is the latest performer added to “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! – Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night”. The new one hour special is the first time that the nominations will be announced for the annual GRAMMY Awards on primetime television. The live performances are said to be a ploy to get some interest back on the ceremony. More interest means higher ratings. In other Christina news, her greatest hits album ‘Keeps Gettin’ Better – A Decade of Hits’ debuted at #9 on the Billboard Album Charts. It’s her first greatest hits album and is sold exclusively at Target and Target.com.
Christina Aguilera VS Lady Gaga

For some time now, many people have been talking about how Christina Aguilera has been ripping off of Lady Gaga’s looks and music. If you go back to Christina’s 2008 VMAs look, it was pure Gaga with the remake of ‘Genie in a Bottle’ sounding a lot like something from Gaga’s ‘Just Dance’ debut album. In a new interview for the LA Times, Christina talks about her career and such but once things turn to Lady Gaga, it gets ugly. When asked about people on the net hinting about borrowing from Lady Gaga, she said “You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect.” I smell a war!
Christina Cancels Shows Due to Flu

Christina Aguilera is probably one of the only younger stars in Hollywood right now with any real talent. Unfortunately she has become ill with the flu and has had to cancel some shows. Doctors confirmed that she is suffering from a viral upper respiratory tract infection. She was put on bed rest for a few days which caused her two miss two shows in Australia. Christina put out a public statement showing her regret for the cancelled shows. Several other people on tour with her are also suffering from the flu while in Australia. Christina is right at the end of her world tour and about to wrap up. She may also be suffering from fatigue. Rumours had been circulating that the singer was pregnant when her and her husband were seen at a maternity clinic. However, she doesn’t appear pregnant in any way and has made no such announcement. Aguilera is an amazing talent and she will bounce back better than ever.
History Repeats Itself – Christina Aguilera

At her press conference in Shanghai, Christina Aguilera went from talking about her ‘Back to Basics’ tour to talk about her interest in acting. “I am looking forward to moving into another form of what I feel is another creative outlet for me and that would be acting. It is something that, when I attempt to do it, I want to do it right so it’s important for me that I do choose the right first role for myself.”
She’s reportedly been looking at several scripts already. Someone please remind her of history. Show her clips of Mariah’s Glitter and Britney’s Crossroads. That should put a stop to it.
Artists Want Money From Radios
Several music companies, recording artists and industry groups have formed a coalition to ask for compensation for performers when their music is played on the radio. This has been tried before but this time it is different. We now have artists Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Wyclef Jean and Don Henley among the many superstars asking for this. Mark Kadish, the coalition’s executive director said:
“The artists and the musicians and the community in general has come together to say now is really time to make sure that when music is played on the radio, that people who perform that music are paid fairly to do it.”
There are actually skim chances of success here. I bought several CDs after hearing a hit on radio and this is how many people did. Airing a song on radio can only be beneficial for performers so they should think about this as well before asking for something this ridiculous.
