Mariah Carey as apparently squeezed all the juice out of her most recent album ‘E=MC2’. The album only sold about a million copies as opposed to the multiple millions that her previous album ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ sold. Her latest effort has already released 3 of its singles but I can’t even name anything besides ‘Touch My Body’. The next single was supposed to be ‘Migrate’ but according to reports, the release of the song, which was supposed to be on September 30, has been cancelled. Luckily for everyone, it seems that there won’t be any further singles. It’s time for her to work on some new material.

A new video has surfaced featuring Akon and his girl-smacking concert in Guyana. The singer’s people claim that the footage tells a much different story that the shorter, edited version that’s been heating up the blogs recently. The longer version shows what happens directly after Akon nails two women who got too close to the singer. If you’ve seen the shorter version, you know that it cuts off right after the whacking. I’m not sure if it completely vindicates the guy but you can check out the new video and judge for yourself. I doubt hitting a woman can be forgiven easily though.

Rihanna and Chris Brown will be heading to New Zealand next month for a couple of performances at Auckland’s Vector Arena and Wellington’s TSB Arena. The tour then heads over to Australia. This marks the first performances for either singer in these countries and the first time they have held a joint concert. What, they can’t tour without their significant other now? Regarding the concerts, Rihanna says “I think it’s whack if you tell people what you’re going to do on set because then nobody has the interest in coming to see it. It’s all about not knowing what to expect. I don’t want to give away my show … Just expect Chris is gonna be there!”

John Mayer seems to have gotten over his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston pretty quickly. According to People, the 30-year old singer reportedly got friendly with a blonde cocktail waitress during one of his concerts. Is it such a shocker? It’s not like it’s something unexpected of him. Everyone knows he’s a player and a leach. He could probably hang on to anything that wears a skirt and walks if he’s drunk enough. John was even quoted saying “We’re all drunk. Only onstage can you openly drink on your last night. I’d like to see George Bush light up a giant joint.”

Kylie Minogue recently announced on her website that she’s adding even more concerts in South America. She says “After a fantastic 53 date tour throughout Europe, Kylie’s pleased to announce more dates for her South American KylieX2008 Tour this November!” She’s going to be in Colombia on November 1, performing at Bogota Parque Jaime Duque and in Venezuela on November 4, performing at Caracas Poliedro. There’s still no announcement made on whether she’s going to play in the US or Canada. It’s going to be a big travesty if she doesn’t. And how unfair is that? She’s playing practically everywhere already.
Posted in Concert, George Michael on the September 8, 2008

George Michael performed his so-called last ever concert at Earl’s Court in London last week. Now where have I heard that before? We all know that these last ever things don’t really last. Just look at Cher! And besides, who the heck holds their last ever concert on a Monday night?! A weekend show would have been more believable. I’m willing to start a bet that he’s going to end up with a residency in Las Vegas just like those other has-beens who’ve made farewell shows but never really stopped with their careers. What is it with people and not knowing when to quit while their ahead? Unless you’re Celine Dion, I’m not buying into it.

Madonna wants to reunite Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. The 49-year-old singer is reportedly trying to get the former lovers to join her on stage for her ‘Sticky and Sweet’ world tour.
A source said: “Madonna is always trying to raise the bar and Britney and Justin on the same stage would be perfect.”
Madonna is said to be hoping to convince Britney and Justin - who split in 2002 after four years together - to appear with her on the final US date of the tour in Miami, in November.
The source added: “They have both been asked but I think they are both a bit reluctant. Britney would find it all a bit emotional and Justin might not be interested. More likely is that they will both appear at different dates. But if anyone can make it happen it’s Madonna.”
Britney, 26, has already recorded a video segment to be screened on the tour. Filmed in a lift, it shows her in a white vest getting hot and sweaty as she kicks and punches the walls. Madonna has also asked Britney to appear live with her as a surprise guest at some dates on the tour.
Justin, 27, was heavily involved with the making of Madonna’s latest album ‘Hard Candy’, and Madonna has also asked him to duet with her during the tour.
Justin appears on her worldwide hit single ‘4 Minutes’ from the new album and has writing credits on five of its tracks.
Madonna’s ‘Sticky and Sweet’ world tour kicks off in Cardiff, Wales, on August 23, and takes in Europe, North America and Mexico.

Amy Winehouse may be in a fragile state but that’s not going to stop her from playing Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Concert on Friday as well as attending Glastonbury. The British media is reporting that Wino will go on stage with an ambulance crew on standby at the gigs. I hope this is not true. While it’s admirable to not let your supporters down, she should really focus on her health first. Concert organizers are even looking to outfit her backstage area like a private hospital suite complete with massage table and paramedics. If you ask me, she should have just stayed in the hospital where she can get proper care.

Reports are saying that Coldplay has been forced to postpone the start of their North American tour by 2 weeks due to some so-called production delays. The tour will now kick off in LA on July 14th. The band’s tour was supposed to wrap up in Chicago on August 4th but will instead come to an end that same day in Boston. Tickets for the thrown out dates will be valid for the new ones and refunds are also available at points of purchase. There’s an updated itinerary posted on Coldplay’s website. The band’s previously announced free shows in London on June 16, Barcelona on June 17 and New York on June 23 will go on as planned.
Posted in Concert, Kylie Minogue, World Tour on the May 8, 2008
Kylie Minogue kicked off her long-awaited tour last night with ex-boyfriend Olivier Martinez in the audience.
The French actor – who split from the singer in February 2007 – joined 10,000 fans at Paris’ Bercy Stadium, in France, at the opening night of ‘KylieX2008′.
An onlooker said: ‘Olivier looked on very proudly as Kylie wowed fans with the show, which was spectacular.’
Kylie – who recently denied claims she had rekindled her romance with Olivier, insisting they were just friends - opened the show above the stage in a full-length purple gown amid green wires in a gold hoop as she performed ‘Speakerphone’ from her latest album ‘X’. As well as singing a host of her classic hits including ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ and ‘Step Back In Time’, the Australian beauty thrilled the crowd with her own version of Barry Manilow’s ‘Copacabana’.
The tour has cost over $20 million to stage and includes 53 dates across Europe, concluding with a six-night residency at London’s O2 arena ending in August.
It is her first full tour since being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. Kylie – who on Monday was pronounced a Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters in France – recently revealed she was counting down the days until the tour started.
The ‘Wow’ singer said: “The countdown has begun!! Not long now before opening night for ‘KylieX2008′!!!! My cast, crew and I have been working hard to really make this show ’spectacular’ for you. Full production rehearsals are coming up and we are very excited to merge all the various elements of the show.”

Beyonce Knowles had a furious row with husband Jay-Z over one of her biggest hit singles.
Beyonce, who is believed to have married the hip-hop mogul earlier this month, reportedly lost her temper at a concert when Jay-Z told the DJ to stop playing ‘Crazy in Love’ - a track which also features the rapper.
Jay-Z allegedly said: “F**k that. Sorry Beyonce but f**k that, lets play something else.”
The concert, which was held at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, was organised in support of US Presidential candidate Barack Obama.
A source said: “Beyonce had been side stage for most of the night, dancing and singing along. Jay-Z meant it as a joke but she didn’t see it that way. After he came off stage, she confronted him, demanding to know what the hell his comments had been about. She was gesturing wildly and not looking happy.
“Later, peace was restored and they were smiling and looking happy again.”

KT Tunstall performed at the Hammersmith Apollo on Friday in London, England. KT just completed a month-long stride touring around Australasia and the Far East. But her work doesn’t stop there. The ‘Suddenly I See’ singer will now be heading to the rest of Europe, the US and later on Canada for the continuation of her tour. KT’s becoming pretty popular these days. She went on the record to say “One of the weirdest things ever just happened yesterday. I got an e-mail from my manager, the subject of which was the Dalai Lama, and the message said, ‘He wants to meet you!’â€
Posted in Concert, Music, Music Bands, Velvet Revolver on the March 27, 2008

This may be the beginning of the end for Velvet Revolver as the band’s front man Scott Weiland and drummer Matt Sorum don’t seem to be getting along well lately. At a show in Glasgow, UK last Thursday night, Weiland shocked the crowd and his band mates by announcing that they were “watching something special… the last tour by Velvet Revolver.” According to reports, the rest of the band was in disbelief. Sorum then unleashed some heated comments on his blog about not getting along with Weiland and Weiland not knowing how good he has it. Weiland then issued a statement to Blabbermouth mainly putting down Sorum’s accomplishments as compared to his.

It’s widely known that Avril Lavigne’s concert is doing very poorly in the ticket sales but did you know just how desperate people are to get rid of the tickets? For her show in Buffalo, New York, whatever number of fans the Canadian had left were able to buy 4 tickets for $98. That’s less than $25 per ticket. In West Palm Beach, Florida, you can watch Avril for a mere $9. That’s even less than the price of watching a movie. And in my opinion, you’re better off watching a movie even if it’s one of those cheesy 80s horror films that you’re more than likely to laugh at than get scared of.
Posted in Avril Lavigne, Concert, Rock, Rumor, Tickets Sale on the March 7, 2008

It’s pretty well known that Avril Lavigne has been having a hard time moving tickets for her tour. A few days before it kicked off, she was still having problems with sales that they’ve taken very costly measures just to get bodies in the concert venues. MuchOnDemand recently did a give away for Avril concert tickets recently and they gave away a whopping 8 tickets! 2 tickets is the standard giveaway for a radio station. If that doesn’t sound like trouble to you then you have some problems. But she has to fill those seats one way or another. She’s losing money either way, might as well have someone laugh at that fact.
Posted in Concert, Grammy Awards, Mark Ronson on the February 18, 2008

Music producer Mark Ronson has been warned by his manager to cut back on his huge entourage; because he is not making enough money to keep them on tour.
Despite being among this year’s Grammy winners with his own gong for Producer Of The Year the Valerie hitmaker is failing to make money from touring.
But Ronson is putting his lack of earnings down to the fact that he brings too many friends on tour with him, which is clawing away at his profits.
He says, “My manager is annoyed with me, because I always bring so many people on tour with me. The costs are so high that I never make money from touring, but I don’t really care about that. If we can break even, I’m fine. This isn’t my day job. Producing records is my day job.”
