Did you miss the chance to catch Taylor Swift when she swung into town for her sold out ‘Fearless’ tour this past summer? Well the country singing cutie is giving you another chance to catch her concert because she’s coming back for more. Starting February in Australia, the singer will be playing more than 5 shows down under and over 30 shows across Canada and the US. The tour will kick off on February 4th in Brisbane, Australia and will wrap up on June 2nd in Washington DC. Taylor spoke about the new tour saying “We had so much fun on the `Fearless’ tour the first time around that we decided that we had to keep going with it.”

Following the announcement of her co-star turned lover, Eddie Cibrian, country singer LeAnn Rimes recently took to her official website last Tuesday to announce that she and estranged husband Dean Sheremet have finally decided to divorce. The 27-year old blonde wrote “After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage. This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another. Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support – it is deeply appreciated.” I doubt “Deane” had anything to do with that decision.

Taylor Swift sings the classing song ‘Tonight’ in a ‘West Side Story’ inspired promo video for the 2009 MTV VMAs. The 19-year old country singer spoke of her version of the song saying “My version of ‘Tonight’ was pretty theatrical, because I listened to the song and I heard the song and I’m just like, ‘There’s no way to do this and not play it up’.

One person has died with 40 others that have been injured due to the collapse of a stage at a country music festival in Alberta, Canada last weekend. By the time that actor Kevin Costner’s group Modern West took the stage, a storm was in full force. The main stage at the Big Valley Jamboree fell victim of heavy winds and rain and collapsed while Nashville’s Billy Currington was in the middle of performing. A witness described the scene saying “It felt like bombs were going off around us in this concrete and steel building. Huge hits of power hitting the building, and then the lights were off.”

It seems like yesterday that the world didn’t even know who Taylor Swift is but it’s obvious now that the country singing sweetheart has made it big and is doing so quickly. Taylor Swift is projected to move huge number for her new CD which came out last week. Numbers from her first day sales have the singer on track to sell about 600,000 copies of her new album. She may also be on track to beat the sales of her ex Joe Jonas and the other two Jonas Brothers’ most recent album ‘A Little Bit Longer’ which debuted to 525,402 copies sold in its first week.

American Idol alum, one of the few that hasn’t been dropped by a record label, Carrie Underwood is in the January/February issue of Women’s Health magazine. In her cover article, she gets asked about everything from Tony Romo, being a vegetarian and wanting to be a news anchor. But what was most interesting for me was when she spoke of her weakness for 80s hair metal.
“I remember singing Motley Crue’s remake of ‘Smokin’ in the Boys’ Room’ in front of the mirror. That was the age of the real ‘rock star.’ I would like to have experienced that first-hand.” Who knew that the little country girl liked to head bang?
Posted in Album Release, Country Music, Dance, Dancing With the Stars, Julianne Hough, Music, Music People, Music Review, Photography, Records Deal, Singers, iTunes on the December 12, 2007

It seems as if Julianne Hough is determined to make sure people know her name. Not only has she twice won Dancing With the Stars….now she’s going to release a country song in early 2008 with Universal Music Group.
Julianne is only 19 and seems to have things going her way. She plans to begin recording next month on the group’s Mercury Records label. She’s already released one country single on iTunes back this past summer.
What is it with people who wanna do it all? I mean, sheesh, leave some room for the rest of us. Nah, really, if you got it, you got it, right? Good luck, Julianne.
