Mariah Carey had the proud honor to kick off the celebrity performance tributes at the Michael Jackson public memorial service which was held at the Staples Center this past Tuesday in Los Angeles. The 39-year old singer took to the stage with her rendition of the Jackson 5 hit ‘I’ll Be There’. She was choked up during her whole performance. Mariah was joined onstage by Trey Lorenz, who recorded a 1992 duet of the song, which became Mariah’s first worldwide number one. It just goes to show how adaptable Michael’s music really is. His contributions are simply timeless treasures to cherish.

Beyonce fans were shocked when George Michael appeared on stage with the star to sing a duet.
The former Wham! singer joined Beyonce in singing If I were A Boy at London’s O2 Arena.
The Daily Mirror reported that the Crazy in Love star wore a police uniform during the performance - just like the sort Michael wore in his outrageous video for Outside.
The paper reported that after the show she had blackened cod delivered to her dressing room, while Michael went to Nobu in London for supper.

Rihanna and Chris Brown not only have a lot of fun when they’re together, the couple also happens to work hard together too. The pair has recently put together a new track called ‘Bad Girl’ which has been leaked out on the internet. The song will be included in the soundtrackfor the film ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’. Producer Polow da Don told MTV about his meeting with the film producers saying “So that night I went to the studio and I was telling Chris about (the meeting). And he was like, ‘Let’s get on it.’ It was crazy, because Jerry Bruckheimer’s dream was to have a song from Rihanna (for the movie), and I delivered Rihanna and Chris Brown in 24 hours. So they were like, ‘Wow, that’s crazy.’â€
Posted in Duet, Justin Timberlake, Leona Lewis on the January 13, 2009

Pop stars Leona Lewis is all set to be the singing partner of Justin Timberlake as the two hope to come together to collaborate for a cover of Whitney Houston’s worldwide hit single ‘I Will Always Love You’ released in 1992 and penned originally by Dolly Parton.
A source close to the two singer and one who know all about the behind the scene arrangements to get the two to sing a duet says “Leona and Justin are huge fans of each other’s music and are raring to go.”
Justin himself has admitted in the past that he would really not go an opportunity to work with the British star ever since he met Leona at his concert ‘Justin and Friends’ last year.
He said: “I’m going to go pimp myself to Leona Lewis, because I think she’s an amazing singer.”
It seems there is a great bit of mutual respect the two singers have for one another but in an industry where no one budges one bit even for the best of friends such good words should have a deeper story.
Posted in Duet, Janet Jackson, Mel B, Song, Spice Girls on the June 5, 2008
Mel B is recording a duet with Janet Jackson for her new album. The Spice Girls star, whose last single ‘Today’ failed to break the Top 40 when it was released in 2005, believes the collaboration will secure her chart success this time round.
She said: “I am doing something with Janet Jackson which should be amazing. I am also going to hook up with Missy Elliott again.”
Mel teamed up with Missy Elliott for her debut solo track ‘I Want You Back’. The 1998 track was her only single to top the charts after she left the Spice Girls. The 33-year-old singer insists she isn’t worried about going it alone again and is convinced she has the best people in the music business working on her third solo LP.
Mel added: “I am not scared of having another try. I am working with the best producers ever. I am now 10 tracks in to my new record.”
The star’s previous albums were ‘Hot’, which was released in 2000 and 2005’s ‘LA State Of Mind’.

Rihanna’s hit song ‘Umbrella’ has been covered by so many artists that it has to have taken the title of being the most covered song since Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’. Practically everyone has done their version of the Barbadian singer’s instant classic – whether they be in rock, pop, classical or even country! Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban are the latest to take part in the craze as they actually do a duet of the song during their concerts. You can’t blame anyone for the covers though. The song is good, it’s catchy and it’s versatile. Almost nothing can go wrong with that – unless of course Heidi Montag decides to make a duet with Rihanna too.

Doing remakes of very popular songs was the trend of 2007 when many artists from different genres of music put their own twist on Rihanna’s massive hit single ‘Umbrella’. But it looks like it’s not going to be the big thing for music in 2008.
Robyn was the first to make a duet out of a new song when she reworked one of Snoop Dogg’s newest songs into a duet. Mind you, her take on it was hot. Now, Ciara has followed her lead and did a duet version of Janet Jackson’s ‘Feedback’. And much like Robyn and Snoop’s so-called duet, the R&B/hip hop singer’s so-called duet with Janet is the hotness!

The American Idol judges took advantage of some time away from Simon and decided to pair up for a single on Randy’s new album. Fans are enthusiatic about the song, which they debuted on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. They can’t wait for Simon to hear it.
Paula says, “He’s going to be sick. He’ll be sick all season.”
The two decided that the single “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow” was the perfect song for Paula’s comeback. They heard the song while they were at San Diego auditions. Paula remembers, “Within five second, Randy said, ‘This is you.’”
Best of luck to the two hopefuls….

Mary J. Blige and ‘Clash of the Choirs’ star Patti LaBelle won’t let PETA, the threat of red paint or the horrors of slaughtering animals get in the way of their seemingly real-looking fur outfits. I bet that PETA is having a field day writing some letters to these two when they saw this picture.
The diva duo was snapped at Mary’s record release party which was hosted by Target in Soho on Tuesday. Don’t they just look like the best pair of Siberian huskies you’ve seen this side of the fur protesters? I would hate to be them when I know that cans of red paint are steadily being produced still.

Life & Style magazine is reporting that the first couple of hip hop will perform together around 12:30 am on December 30 for the Las Vegas opening of Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club. A friend of the couple reveals that the 37-year old rapper “wants his club to be the ultimate in entertainment. He knows the buzz is going to be huge.”
