In order to look fresh on camera for her ‘Glee’ debut, Charice Pempengco underwent a 30-minute Thermage skin-tightening procedure and Botox. According to Filipino celebrity cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo, the singer wanted to make her naturally round face look narrow. Who the heck would do that to an 18-year old in good conscience? Charice said “All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure.” When asked about her gig on the FOX TV series, she said “It’s really a blessing. I’m very proud to be an Asian, very proud to be Filipino.” She wasn’t that proud or she would accept how she naturally looked.

Pop princess Britney Spears is to have an episode of hit TV show Glee dedicated to her.
The show’s creator Ryan Murphy told TV show Entertainment Tonight a Britney episode is in the pipeline for the musical comedy’s next series.
But it is still not known if Britney herself will actually appear in the tribute episode next autumn.
Lady Gaga and Madonna have both had an episode of Glee devoted to their hits but did not appear on the show.
Glee, which follows the struggles of a high school Glee club, has been a surprise ratings smash around the world.

The cast of the hit musical show Glee have shared their excitement after picking up 19 Emmy nominations.
“It’s always a surprise and it’s always exciting,” Jane Lynch said.
The actress is nominated twice, once for best supporting actress in a comedy for the Fox show and also once for her guest role on Two and a Half Men.
Matthew Morrison, who plays music teacher Will Schuester in the series, is in line for best lead actor in a comedy.
“You try to not put too much importance on something like this and I want to say it doesn’t matter to me, but I can’t seem to wipe this smile off my face right now!” Morrison admitted.
“I talked to [creator] Ryan Murphy and I’m so happy for Chris Colfer,” Morrison said.
“I texted Jane and I texted Lea Michele and I texted the hair and makeup department!” he told People.com
Chris Colfer, 20, has been nominated for his role as Kurt Hummel.
Reacting to the news, Colfer said: “I knew there was the possibility but I don’t think I could have expected this.”
The first time nominee said he had called his parents, teachers and he revealed: “Even ‘he lunch ladies from my high school with the news.”
The show’s creator Ryan Murphy shared his pride young cast, saying: “I love all of them. I feel like I’m a dad and my kids just got into Harvard.”
Addressing the question of whether the success had gone to their heads, Lynch joked: “I’m going to be kind of a nightmare from now on.
“I’ll come to set two or three hours late, have 17 or 18 more custom-made track suits. One in gold lamé – 14-karat gold. Maybe I can go that far!”

Glee star Cory Monteith says bosses on the show keep the cast in the dark about celebrity cameos.
Monteith, 28, plays the role of Finn Hudson in the US TV series and says he doesn’t know if Susan Boyle and Katie Holmes will be making appearances in future episodes of the shows.
He told BBC Newsbeat: “I have no idea. I think they keep us out of the loop so we don’t go, ‘Oops I shouldn’t have said that’. And then it’s on the internet.
“That’s why I quit drinking because I’d be terrified I’d get a little smashy smashy and start talking industry secrets on the interwebs.”

Jonathan Groff rocked the house during his first headlining concert ever at Joe’s Pub in New York City this past Sunday night. The 25-year old former ‘Glee’ actor and Broadway hunk rocked the house with a 12-song set, performing songs from his past life in the Great White Way and covers of classic music. A slew of celebrities attended Jon’s show including Victor Garber who attended the 7PM show, while ‘Star Trek’ star Zachary Quinto and ‘American Idiot’ cast member Theo Stockman (Lea Michele’s boyfriend) attended the 9:30PM showing. I wonder if Jon has any plans to make his own album.

Christina Aguilera’s less than stellar new album ‘Bionic’ debuted at a very disappointing number 3 spot on the US sales chart. While some of you may not think that’s bad, 29-year old powerhouse singer got beat out by two soundtracks! The top spot going to ‘Glee’ and the number 2 spot going to ‘Eclipse’. If that’s not bad enough news for her, Christina only managed to sell 111,838 copies of her new album. That’s only a fraction of what ‘Back to Basics’ did in its first week, selling 346,000. It’s official, her new music is a flop. Sorry Christina. It’s a fact.

While the hit Fox show ‘Glee’ goes on hiatus for the summer, Matthew Morrison aka Will Schuster is attempting to cash in on the success of the series by recording his first solo album. The singer/actor said “I’m writing all the music for it. It’s me and a big orchestra behind me.” Matthew goes on to describe the album as dance heavy and is a cross between Michael Buble and Justin Timberlake. I’m not sure if those two music styles actually go together and just because you sing well doesn’t mean your writing will be just as good. But I guess we’ll see.

I know a lot of people were on the edge of their seats watching the Lady Gaga themed episode of ‘Glee’ this week. And one of those people happened to be the princess of pop herself. The singer recently talked about how excited she was to see her music incorporated into the show. She said “I love Glee. I love the cast and the creativity of the writers. I went to a musical theatre school, and used to dream that someday the students would be singing my songs.” The cast’s take on the songs was absolutely beautiful and the costumes were pretty on the dot. I loved it!

There’s a rumor going around that Susan Boyle is going to appear on the hit Fox series ‘Glee’ in a season two Christmas episode. The show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy told EW of the singer’s role saying “I have two words for you: Lunch. Lady. I think Kurt would just die to give her a Christmas makeover. I don’t even know if she’s interested but it’s been pitched.” Ryan also revealed that there are plans for the cast to release a Christmas album as well. And as for how the Susan and ‘Glee’ connection came to be, the 49-year old Britain’s Got Talent runner up is on the same record label as the cast.

Matthew Morrison responded to the rumor regarding having a Britney Spears-themed episode of ‘Glee’. However, the actor/singer doesn’t necessarily think that it’s going to happen. He said “That’s a rumor her manager started. I hope our show doesn’t go along that route.” Why not? Britney may not be as big as Madonna or Lady Gaga but she’s still an icon of pop music. I actually think that it will be beneficial to the show especially since fans of the show are likely to have been the same generation that has been greatly exposed to her music. Matthew really needs to get over himself.

The cast of ‘Glee’ took the number one spot on the charts this week with the release of the soundtrack for ‘The Power of Madonna’ selling nearly 100,000 copies. This marks the comedy series’ first chart topper! The Queen of Pop must be so proud about that too. Lady Antebellum took the second spot after 13 weeks on the charts and sold about 83,000 for the week. Justin Bieber’s ‘My World 2.0’ rounded out the top 3 by selling 80,000 copies for the week. Congratulations for those at the head of the charts this week! I wonder how much shuffling will go on for next week.

People are still talking about Wednesday night’s amazing Madonna-inspired ‘Glee’ episode. In fact, the episode attracted over 13 million viewers making the hit show number one that night. Just 24 hours after the Madonna show aired, series creator Ryan Murphy is already considering a sequel! He has even confirmed that he is already in talk with the Queen of Pop’s people and that “Madonna and her people are into it and want it to happen.” If that show pushes through, it would feature 6 more of Madonna’s music and it would air next season. I can’t wait for that! I hope it does go through.

And she likes it… recently the singer had an episode for herself on the popular musical show and she’s been given the okay to use any of her songs so Madonna’s pretty thrilled with the episode. This is what she said about it: “I think Mr. Schuester is very cute, and I’m glad he’s doing such a good job empowering all the girls.” Who would’ve picked Madonna for a Glee fan? But hey, if they give her the chance to promote her music a bit on it, why not, after all, it’s not like they’ll want to bring Madonna around for the promotion campaign.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle will be making an appearance during the American Idol charity episode, Idol Gives Back. This year, money is being raised for the Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children’s US Programs, and the United Nations Foundation so it’s no big surprise that they are lending a hand. I’m excited about who else is going to appear on the special episode which airs on April 21. I’m kind of rooting for having the kids from ‘Glee’ over at the show. It is on FOX of course, so why the heck not?

With only two weeks until the spring premiere of ‘Glee’, more details are coming out on what to expect in the final nine episodes of the season. While I know a lot of people can’t wait to see what will happen with the Madonna episode, there is also some buzz that Lady Gaga music will be making it into the mix. The princess and the queen of pop all in one season! The show has chosen the singer’s hits ‘Bad Romance’ and ‘Poker Face’. Not only will her music be involved but Lady Gaga’s iconic costumes will be too! I can’t wait to see how everybody looks as Lady Gaga!

It seems that everyone on the planet is going to be a guest star on ‘Glee’ so why not have Justin Timberlake? The singer/actor is the latest to be included on the list of celebrity appearances on the hit FOX series. Creator Ryan Murphy said “[Justin] is the one the kids jump up and down about every day and beg me to meet with him. I’m a huge fan of his music. I think he’s so talented. And he’s a true triple threat: He can sing, dance, and act. So yeah, we’d love to have him on. We start shooting the second season in July and I think I will work some magic around that time for him if I can.” The cast wants Justin around too as Matthew Morrison aka Mr. Schuester and Amber Riles aka Mercedes have nothing but great things to say about him.

The ‘Glee’ cast recording of Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ has been certified gold after being downloaded over half a million times. And that’s just the legal downloads. With their tracks selling big time on iTunes, it was bound to happen sooner or later anyway. Actress Lea Michele talked about it saying “The great thing about our show is that some of the songs that we do sound very close to the original and others are completely re-done and ‘mashed up.’ It’s great that we’ve brought these old songs back and we’ve put a new twist to them, while still honoring the amazing songs that they are. Matthew Morrison added “I feel like we’re revitalizing the music industry. The younger generation hears songs they never heard before through our show. And I’ll be bold as to say that I think some of the records we’re doing are even better than the originals.”

Here’s some big news for fans of ‘Glee’. Madonna has given the Fox hit TV show the rights to her entire music catalog. I wonder if this means that there will be an episode strictly with the singer’s music in the works. In a word – yes! The all Queen of Pop episode of ‘Glee’ is said to air early next year. I can’t wait to find out which of Madonna’s songs they will be using. Moreover, I can’t wait to hear their renditions of them. Here’s to hoping that Cory Monteith’s dancing will have improved by then. What songs do you want to see on the show?
