With his new album ‘Battle Studies’ being released on November 17th, John Mayer has announced two upcoming shows around the holidays featuring the John Mayer Trio, including bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan. The singer and his friends will be playing at the Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego on December 29 and on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Both concerts will raise money for veterans’ charities including Military Outreach Ministry, Camp Pendleton and the Veterans Health Research Institute. John Mayer posted a challenge on his Twitter last week offering a $25,000 charitable donation if the people from TMZ uncovered his mug shot. The Smoking Gun got to it first though as they unearthed a rare, never-before-seen photo from when the singer was arrested for speeding and driving without a license in Georgia from back in 2001. TMZ later posted the mug shot as well and they chose to ask John to split the donation between two foundations for animals. John made good on his challenge and later posted pictures of the checks made out to the two charities.

Britain’s Got Talent finalist Shaheen Jafargholi will join Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder in an all-star memorial to Michael Jackson.
The 12-year-old boy from Wales, who wowed judges with his version of Jackson’s hit Who’s Lovin’ You, is on the preliminary list of performers announced by the Jackson Family.
Other celebrities appearing at the star-studded memorial at The Staples Centre in LA include Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, singer John Mayer, basketball player Kobe Bryant, actress Brooke Shields, R&B singer Usher, sports veteran Magic Johnson, Smokey Robinson, the Andrae Crouch Choir, and the Reverend Al Sharpton.
Motown founder Berry Gordy, who helped launch Jackson’s career, will also appear, while two of the late Martin Luther King JR’s children – Martin Luther King III and Bernice A King – will also pay tribute to the pop legend.

John Mayer seems to have gotten over his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston pretty quickly. According to People, the 30-year old singer reportedly got friendly with a blonde cocktail waitress during one of his concerts. Is it such a shocker? It’s not like it’s something unexpected of him. Everyone knows he’s a player and a leach. He could probably hang on to anything that wears a skirt and walks if he’s drunk enough. John was even quoted saying “We’re all drunk. Only onstage can you openly drink on your last night. I’d like to see George Bush light up a giant joint.”

John Mayer sure loves to blog about the most random of things. Just recently, the musician used his official website to address a little news bit from the New York Post. The paper wrote that “We Hear…..that John Mayer is so self-obsessed, he Googles himself every morning, and has been known to respond to online rumors just to clear the air.” It is a pretty well known fact. Heck, he even responds to posts regarding him being a big douche bag. Not to be outdone by the Post, John jokingly responded with “This is, quite simply, untrue.” If you think about it, it’s quite funny – in an ironic way.

Who knew that John Mayer has it in him to be a gangsta? He’s a closet Snoop Dogg fan!
Paparazzi caught up with the ever-eccentric crooner as he left a party at the Chateau Marmont on Monday. He was pimpin’ in the passenger seat of a black Mercedes as a Snoop rhyme was blasting from the speakers.
In a poor attempt to avoid answering any pap questions, John actually pulled a Paris Hilton by talking on a cell phone. But he actually one-ups the blonde socialite by having a phone at each ear! How would it even be possible to carry a conversation on two phones with people screaming questions at you?
