This year’s American Music Awards might as well be touted as an American Idol reunion. Why? It just so happens that Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry’s band, Daughtry, are all scheduled to perform at the awards show on November 22nd. They would pretty much cover half of the performances on the show. And I can just guess that country singer Carrie will be racking up a couple of awards too. That’s quite an empire that Simon Cowell and the rest of them have built. Will you be tuning in to see that Idols on the show?

Kelly Clarkson looked absolutely ravishing on the red carpet when she attended the 2009 VH1 Divas which was held at New York’s Brooklyn Academy of Music last Thursday. The 27-year old original American Idol champion talked about her diva status saying “I’m too true country to be called a diva. I need to be more demanding.” The singer performed her hit song ‘Already Gone’ and sang a duet with iconic rock star Melissa Etheridge on her 1988 song ‘Bring Me Some Water’. I bet performing with Melissa was a dream come true for Kelly. It would have been for me if I was in Kelly’s place.

Kelly Clarkson’s record label is said to be pissed about the original American Idol champ shooting her mouth off about the drama surrounding her latest single ‘Already Gone’. Kelly got fed up about her song getting compared with Beyonce’s ‘Halo’ as the two songs have the same backing track produced by Ryan Tedder. Kelly ranted that she asked her label to not release ‘Already Gone’ as a single but that they basically threw her under a bus. Now, it seems that her label is already fed up with her and threatened her that they would be done with the album – no more money for videos, no more singles and no more promotions. Yikes!

The legendary live concert event, VH1 Divas, is returning after a four-year hiatus and will feature some of today’s big voices including the likes of Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus. I get the first three singers but what the heck is Miley doing on that list? The show’s producer said “Adele, Kelly, Leona and Miley have all captured the world’s attention with their talent and have earned their designation as VH1 Divas this year. Don’t let some of their young ages fool you - these women are among the best entertainers in the world and will continue to thrill music fans for a long time to come.” The VH1 Divas concert will air at 9PM ET/PT on September 17 on VH1.

Kelly Clarkson recently performed a 16-song set at the PC Richard and Son theater in New York City last week. She performed at an event sponsored by Z100 radio station and iHeartRadio. The 27-year old original American Idol champ sang a beautiful rendition of Janet Jackson’s hit song ‘If’. The singer’s set also included a bluesy and soulful tribute to Patsy Cline’s ‘Walkin’ After Midnight’. Kelly’s concert was simply to die for! She always changes up her classic songs and throws in some new ones. The songs were only made better by the great acoustics in the theater. You miss a lot when you miss a Kelly concert.

The victory song that American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi co-wrote and that season winner Kris Allen performed, ‘No Boundaries’, has been dropped from the Idol tour. Usually, the victory ballads performed by and written for the reality show competition champions have achieved great success, such as Kelly Clarkson’s ‘A Moment Like This’. Those songs are also staples of the Idol tour performances. But I guess the song just proved to be as popular as Kara being a judge on the show. ‘No Boundaries’ was a dud in concert so it’s out. I wonder if Kara’s fate as a judge will follow the same path.

Kelly Clarkson went on a promotional tour in Australia late last week. In a radio interview with Australia’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, the original American Idol talked about her fluctuating weight and the fact that she’s looking pretty heavy these days. The singer said “For seven years it’s been happening. It’s like, ‘Okay cool, the fat joke.’ I love my body, I’m very much okay with it. I don’t think artists are ever the ones who have the problem with their weight, I think it’s the media who have a problem with it.” I agree with her. The youth should have more people like

Carrie Underwood has had picture perfect success recently. While the 26-year old American Idol alum has seen nothing but that since she started her professional career, she’s still giving us reminders that she’s on top. Carrie was revealed to have raked in $14 million last year. She was far and away the top earner for all Idol alums. Jennifer Hudson came in second with $5 million, Kelly Clarkson with $4.2 million, Jordin Sparks with $3.1 million and rounding out the top 5 was Kellie Pickler with $2.3 million. Hmm, I wonder why David Cook and David Archuleta aren’t on the list.

The rumored second single to come off of Kelly Clarkson’s upcoming new album is said to be ‘I Do Not Hook Up’. The single was actually written by Katy Perry around three years ago with Greg Wells, one of Mika’s producers, and Kara DioGuardi, the new judge on American Idol. Katy even recorded a demo for the song. Her version is of course on the techno dance pop genre. I can’t wait to hear just what Kelly’s version is like. I still can’t get over how there are very little or no leaks at all regarding Kelly’s upcoming album. I don’t even know what to expect anymore.

Kelly Clarkson’s comeback seems to be having a good start as the original American Idol’s new song ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ currently holds the #12 spot on the chart after being released for just a few hours. She’s doing so well that she’s even beat U2. The Irish band led by Bono is at the #25 spot for the moment with their new song ‘Get on Your Boots’. Music insiders also say that Kelly’s new single will hit the top 5 soon. Congratulations to her! I hope the rest of her album doesn’t disappoint either. As for U2, I hope they can come out with better material soon.

Forget about masquerades as Kelly Clarkson’s upcoming fourth studio album has been officially called ‘All I Ever Wanted’. The album is set to drop in the stores on March 17 while the first single off of it, ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ is set to hit radio airwaves next Monday, January 19th. The song was written by pop gurus Max Martin and Dr. Luke. It definitely looks like her sound is going to be more on pop now than the grunge that was ‘My December’. I hope this one does better than her last effort too. Good luck goes out to her!

Try and try until you succeed. That’s a line that Kelly Clarkson seems to believe.
Despite her latest album ‘My December’ being a certified flop commercially, Kelly is still intent on going on tour in support of the record. She had to cancel an arena tour this past summer due to poor ticket sales. A tour went on though, just in smaller venues.
She also has no plans to record another album any time soon. Doesn’t she want to get her name and her music out of the dirt? A new and better album is the only way Kelly! Get your act together before you turn into Britney.

As Kelly Clarkson fans know, the singer wrote or co-wrote every track on her new album My December — but they probably don’t know just how quickly. “I’ve written every song in 15 to 20 minutes. It has to come out of me like that, or it won’t at all,” Clarkson told Self for its August issue cover story. “It’s not even that hard a thought process for me.” She revealed that she has a microphone hooked up to her computer, which she keeps by her bed so she can record music when a song pops into her head. She has drafts of 150 new songs saved. Oh really Kelly, if that were anywhere near the truth the she have turned a music mogal at the age of 20. Write a song while going to bed and record it the next morning and release it in the evening, buy the time she is to bed the music is rocking the charts. I do not doubt her talents at all, but hey like come do not goof up so much that it is hard to digest.

Everyone knows about Kelly Clarkson’s fight with record executive Clive Davis. In the weeks before Kelly’s latest album ‘My December’ was released, Clive has made several biting remarks saying that it sucks in not so many words. Kelly has remarkably stayed silent – until now.
Kelly recently told the press about how she felt about what Clive has said. She comically says that she gets that he’s not supposed to like the album because he’s 80 years old. Ouch. She also made comments about the shady treatment she’s received from her label regarding her latest release, from being told lies to the fights to being told that the album would tank.
It still doesn’t explain why the album sounds like that though.

Kelly Clarkson took the stage on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ summer concert series in New York City’s Lincoln Center on Tuesday morning. She performed a four-song set including her flops of singles ‘Never Again’ and ‘Sober’ along with the more popular ‘Behind These Hazel Eyes’ and ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’.
Her album just dropped and not even her slightly belly-baring top would help get it out of the list of flops. I feel for her. I think if Sanjaya releases an album right now, he’d get more buys than her.
That’s a sad story when hair beats out your voice.
