Obama Not for Ludacris

It looks like Barack Obama is going to have to push away another one of his supporters. Ludacris has just released a new rap where he calls Hillary Clinton a “bitch” and says that John McCain “don’t belong in any chair unless he’s paralyzed” and even throws insults at Jesse Jackson and George W. Bush. An Obama campaign spokesman issued a statement condemning Luda saying “As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to. This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics.”

Jay-Z Lawsuit

In another crazy lawsuit, a guy wants $88 million out of Jay-Z for his rap – not for a lyric he copied or a sample he stole but for stealing the ultra-exclusive technique of rapping in a low whisper. What the heck? I wish I was kidding. Mitchell Rose, a boxer/lawyer/rapper, has filed suit alleging that he created the technique of whisper rapping. Rose says that Jay-Z adopted the technique without properly crediting him so now he wants to get paid. If his name is familiar to you, he’s the same Mitchell Rose who once wrote a book called ‘Mike Tyson Tried to Kill My Daddy’. Go figure.

Publicity Didn’t Help Mariah Carey

Publicity Didn’t Help Mariah

Despite the massive amount of media attention that she received after her surprise wedding to Nick Cannon last week, Mariah’s new single ‘Bye Bye’ has dropped from #22 to #41 on this week’s Soundscan singles chart in America. People may be interested in her wedding but it seems like no one gives a crap about her single. It sucks for her. But congratulations goes out to Madonna whose single ‘4 Minutes’ is at #3 this week with her second single ‘Give It 2 Me’ debuting at #21. I wonder if anything good will happen to Mariah’s career if she suddenly announces that she was pregnant.

Amy Winehouse goes from Black to Blacker

If you thought Back To Black was dark, wait until you hear Amy Winehouse´s third album. The troubled star has almost become a recluse since contracting an ugly skin condition and friends are terrified about her negative state of mind.
They say she has never been this low — and that she has been writing sinister song lyrics about death.
Again writing with Mark Ronson, Amy has played some of the new songs to pals. They were impressed but disturbed by the moodiness of her follow-up to the eight million-selling Back To Black.
Some of the lyrics are so bleak that it is even being described as “suicidal music”.
A source said her skin complaint was dragging her mood down further and added: “Her next album is darker than ever. Amy’s got low self-esteem anyway but her skin has made her want to hide away from the rest of the world. And we have started noticing more and more cuts on her arms. Her problems are pushing her over the edge and she’s turning into a depressed recluse. It’s not good for her to stay in so much. People try to get her to leave the house and tell her not to worry about what people say. But she’d rather sit around her dingy flat all day writing about death.”
Despite the morbid nature of the new material, it’s sure to be a hit with fans.
The source added: “She’s written quite a lot of the third album already. It is very, very dark but she produces some of her best music when she’s in pain — and the past few months have been hell for her. She might have all this fame and wealth but she’s never been so down as she is now.”

Amy’s father blames himself

Amy Winehouse’s dad mitch.jpg

Amy Winehouse’s dad reckons he is to blame for her troubled life. Mitch believes his affair with another woman pushed his daughter over the edge after he embarked on an illicit relationship soon after the singer was born.

Amy and her older brother Alex grew up aware of the mistress and even had a special name for her - referring to her as ‘Daddy’s work wife’.

The lyrics Amy penned for track What It Is About Men hints towards domestic baggage, with the line: “All the s**t my mother went through.”

Taxi driver Mitch married Amy’s mum Janis in 1976 - with Amy arriving in 1983. But 18 months later, he fell for a colleague he was working with in a double-glazing firm. Their extramarital affair continued for almost a decade before Mitch eventually left his family to move in with his mistress - and then married her in 1996.

Mitch, who now lives with his second wife, said: “The children used to call Jane ‘Daddy’s work wife’. I did not leave home until Amy was ten, so the situation occurred for another eight or nine years before I left home. It was difficult.”

“I should have left earlier, I should have left sooner. There was not really a negative response from Amy (when I left), but she definitely became a lot more independent.

Perhaps deep down she felt her parents were splitting up, she could not rely on them to stay together and that it was about time she learned to look after herself. I thought Amy was over it pretty quickly - in fact it felt at the time Amy felt no effect at all. Maybe she could not articulate it in words, but she certainly did it with music.”

Talking of Amy’s drug and drink abuse, he opened up about her seizure last August and confirmed doctors warned her she could die if she continued taking drugs. He added: “She could die horribly. That is not going to happen - that cannot happen. It is easy for me to say it is my fault, and that had I been a better parent this would not have happened. But who knows whether it would or not?”
