French fashion mogul Christian Audigier is buying the house in which the singer died.
Audigier, who was a friend of the star, said he was not able to get permission to turn the house into a museum but would instead open it on every anniversary of Jackson’s death, staging exhibitions and shows.
“I can have the house in one month now. I get the keys two weeks from today,” Audigier said.
Jackson was renting the house, which is located in Holmby Hills and worth more than $30m, at the time of his death.
Jackson had been “in great shape” in the weeks before his death, Audigier said. “He was very skinny but he was a dancer, too. He was very involved with the London concert. What happened was very sad. The guy was very happy to come back on stage,” he added.

Mariah Carey was willing enough to do her husband’s talent show but doesn’t do anything else. What’s up? So far, the singer has cancelled on the Today Show, VH1 Storytellers, the MTV Video Music Awards and receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The cancellation of the last one is just stupid. She doesn’t even have to sing to receive the honor. Mariah’s management continues to stay quiet about the cancelled events but some are saying that it may be due to the second postponement of her latest album ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’. Can she not handle the pressure after releasing a crappy single like ‘Obsessed’?

If you haven’t picked up Mariah Carey’s new album, don’t worry because you’re not alone. But if you’re still contemplating on whether or not to buy it on September 15th, there might be a little more incentive for you as the album is going to be reproduced with a brand new 34-page booklet attached. But before you go and save money thinking it will be filled with the singer’s loveliness, it’s actually going to be filled with ads. ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ will be the first CD released with this new brand integrated booklet and is also in conjunction with Elle magazine. As a consumer, it’s nonsense. As a business, it’s genius!

Mariah Carey seems to be heading down the path of irrelevancy as the days continue to pass. It has just been said that the singer is scheduled to perform a series of intimate concerts at the Pearl theater at the Palms Casino Resort in September and October. Tickets for her shows start at a cool $129 up to $254 each. That’s a lot to demand for something that is pretty well below mediocre. A short stint in Las Vegas may end up as a residency. And I think that it’s appropriately cheesy for Mariah. The only shining light in this is that she’s going to make bank – if she sells.

Mariah Carey had the proud honor to kick off the celebrity performance tributes at the Michael Jackson public memorial service which was held at the Staples Center this past Tuesday in Los Angeles. The 39-year old singer took to the stage with her rendition of the Jackson 5 hit ‘I’ll Be There’. She was choked up during her whole performance. Mariah was joined onstage by Trey Lorenz, who recorded a 1992 duet of the song, which became Mariah’s first worldwide number one. It just goes to show how adaptable Michael’s music really is. His contributions are simply timeless treasures to cherish.

Mariah Carey has a new single out called ‘Obsessed’. It is being reported that the song was written about Eminem. I don’t hate it but I don’t like it either. The lyrics are good but the music is pretty boring and nothing to get excited about. The song also has that urban feel. Mariah Carey needs to go back to making pop music and stop trying so hard with the hip hop R&B genre. If she really wants to try something new, maybe she could go for dance music. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry do have some of the hottest music on radio right now and look what their genre is. Mariah should take some notes.

Mariah Carey isn’t as selfish as many people would think. The possible mom to be seems to have a heart of gold. It turns out that the diva has a great-aunt who lives in Venezuela. Unfortunately though, her aunt has been having some money troubles paying the rent on her house which is a bit under $240 a month. Te 67-year old had missed payments and had fallen into a $1500 debt on the rent. When she got in contact with Mariah, the singer bought her aunt the two-bedroom house in San Miguel. It’s nice to see her helping her family out.

Just like the sales for her new album, Mariah’s boobs are in definite need of some support. The diva let it all hang out at the World Music Awards which were held in Monte Carlo last Sunday. Mariah was presented with the ‘Special Achievement Award’ for showing up. Gee, what was the great achievement in that? Her hubby Nick Cannon was there to support her as he’s been putting his lack of a career on hold to accompany his wife on the road. The World Music Awards were hosted by Jesse Metcalfe. For the sake of people with weak stomachs, I hope they never air it anywhere else.

Mariah Carey has recently revealed in an interview how she came up with the idea for her song “Hero”: “Or with ‘Hero,’ I was in the studio and someone was telling me about this film ‘Hero’ with Dustin Hoffman in it. I took a walk to the loo and when I came back I had this idea for a song, and that was what then became ‘Hero.’” Amazing! That must be why the music is so good. Also, the star made this statement on the subject: “”Sometimes I wake up and in the middle of the night and have an idea and have to get up and record it straight away before I forget it.” I don’t know about you, but I just can’t help myself from putting this out of context… I never thought that the “ideas” you can have in the middle of the night can be that profitable.

Mariah Carey as apparently squeezed all the juice out of her most recent album ‘E=MC2’. The album only sold about a million copies as opposed to the multiple millions that her previous album ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ sold. Her latest effort has already released 3 of its singles but I can’t even name anything besides ‘Touch My Body’. The next single was supposed to be ‘Migrate’ but according to reports, the release of the song, which was supposed to be on September 30, has been cancelled. Luckily for everyone, it seems that there won’t be any further singles. It’s time for her to work on some new material.

Despite the massive amount of media attention that she received after her surprise wedding to Nick Cannon last week, Mariah’s new single ‘Bye Bye’ has dropped from #22 to #41 on this week’s Soundscan singles chart in America. People may be interested in her wedding but it seems like no one gives a crap about her single. It sucks for her. But congratulations goes out to Madonna whose single ‘4 Minutes’ is at #3 this week with her second single ‘Give It 2 Me’ debuting at #21. I wonder if anything good will happen to Mariah’s career if she suddenly announces that she was pregnant.

The British have made up their mind and the numbers definitely show that they prefer their adopted child Madonna over Mariah Carey. The chart results have recently been announced and the Queen of Pop’s new album ‘Hard Candy’ has topped the UK charts by coming in at the #1 spot. Mariah’s ‘E=MC2’ only managed to debut at #3 on the album charts. Additionally, Madonna’s ‘4 Minutes (To Save the World)’ is at #1 for a 3rd week on the UK singles chart. She doesn’t stop there as ‘Hard Candy’ also takes the top spot in more than 25 countries as more numbers roll in. Congratulations!

On the elimination show of American Idol, it seemed like a theme was still part of the night. The final 7 performed Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s ‘One Sweet Day’. After Elliot Yamin’s performance, he talked about the recent death of his mother and how he misses her and then Mariah Carey performs a song called ‘Bye Bye’ talking about loved ones that have passed away. And speaking of goodbye, Kristy Lee Cook was the latest to be cast off. She was joined by Brooke White and Syesha Mercado in the bottom 3. It was a pretty interesting elimination night when David Archuleta was asked to choose from the groups of David Cook, Jason Castro and Carly Smithson vs. the bottom 3 group (then unknown) for who he thinks is safe. David chose to sit down in the middle.

Mariah Carey turned every bit the diva when she was on Radio One on Sunday. The curvaceous singer did her very best Madonna “I’m a Brit†impression but then got her panties in a bunch when the radio host inadvertently said she’s only sold 80 million records. ONLY!!! Mariah then countered the number and said that her record sales are actually closer to 160 million when the call was mysteriously dropped. Did she hang upon the radio interview? Talk about being a diva. It’s almost as egotistical as George Michael saying there’s going to be movies made on his life.

And pisses off execs at NBC in the process.
Sources say Mariah Carey, her manager Benny Medina, and reps at Def Jam are on the NBC bad list. Seems they promised that Mariah would do an appearance and performance on Today to promote her new album E=MC2. Instead, she’s going to be on ABCs Good Morning America, a rival show.
No word yet on how NBC will retaliate!

Here’s some proof that Mariah Carey is pretty much a household name. She doesn’t have a new album out yet she has a Top Ten single without even exerting any effort. She better thank the people who said that digital downloads count for something towards chart success. Her ‘All I Want for Christmas’ is #8 this week in the US according to Soundscan. It looks like people are really into the holiday spirit as Josh Groban’s Christmas album actually took the top spot by selling over 500,000 records this past week and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. Who knew Santa can be a big capitalist ploy?

Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’ continues to reign over the UK singles’ charts. The list was announced on Sunday and it marks the seventh week that Leona has been on top. The X-Factor winner’s debut CD ‘Spirit’ is also at the top spot of the albums’ chart and it’s been there for the last four weeks.
But ‘Bleeding Love’ is facing some stiff competition this holiday season. The rest of the singles chart, in order, is made up of T2 featuring Jodie Aysha with ‘Heartbroken’, Girls Aloud with ‘Call the Shots’, Timbaland with ‘Apologize’, Take That with ‘Rule the World’, Alicia Keys with ‘No One’, Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse with ‘Valerie’, Mariah Carey with ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’, Shayne Ward with ‘Breathless’ and Soulja Boy with ‘Crank That (Soulja Boy)’.

To be able to sell more records, you have to be in some kind of competition where your fans would have to support you all the way and buy multiple copies of your album just so you win. It sort of worked for 50 Cent and Kanye West. Could it work for two divas as well?
Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige are said to be setting up their own record release date showdown. But according to SOHH.com, it’s not true. The diva duo won’t be releasing their albums on the same exact date.
Mariah would be releasing her new album first on November 20th while Mary J will drop her new album on November 27th.
