According to the Mirror, Stephen Gately died from complications of drinking in excess. The Boyzone singer was discovered dead by his partner Andy Cowles in his Majorca apartment kneeling against the sofa with his face buried in the pillow. It is being said that he died in his sleep when he choked on his own vomit after drinking at a club until 6AM. Stephen will be greatly missed. His band mate, Ronan Keating talked about his friend saying “I’m devastated. I can’t believe it’s real. We’ve lost a best friend and a brother. Stephen was loved by every one of us. He was one of the most caring, compassionate and gentle people I’ve known.”

It seems that Aerosmith’s recording and touring break aren’t just because of lead singer Steven Tyler’s injuries from a recent stage accident. His ego can also be blamed. According to the band’s guitarist Joe Perry, Steven has not spoken to the rest of the band since the accident in August. If he does have to communicate, he does it through his new management team. Steven and Joe haven’t even written a song together for the past 10 years! For a band that’s been together for over 40 years, that’s just cold. Joe is staying optimistic that the band will be back on its feet though saying “I think we need more time to get everybody healthy and the whole thing, and see if Steven wants to be part of the band again.”

Earlier this year, the guys of the band Coldplay found themselves in a sticky situation when guitarist Joe Satriani accused singer Chris Martin and the rest of the band of plagiarizing his song and creating ‘Viva La Vida’. Just this past week, the victory was sweet and perhaps costly for the UK band as a judge announced that the lawsuit has been dismissed upon stipulation which suggests that they settle the matter out of court. I can only imagine what a pretty penny it cost to have that guy keep quiet about everything. I bet that Joe is probably getting a huge cut off of the song’s profits.

The sudden departure of Noel Gallagher from Oasis last weekend has left fans wondering just what happened between the two brothers in the band. Noel and Liam Gallagher have always been known for their volatile relationship, but a recent comment from the latter regarding Noel’s daughter, Anais, was reportedly the last straw. Liam allegedly suggested that Noel wasn’t the real father of the 9-year old kid. An insider close to the situation said “It was a dumb thing to say. They had a big fight when he made the gag. Noel went for him. He was in a blind fury. And he still hasn’t calmed down.” Noel considered the comment as unforgivable, which led to his abrupt departure from the band last Friday.

According to one member of the Pussycat Dolls, their gig as a band is already up. Ashley Roberts broke down in front of fans recently as she tearfully fled from her London hotel. The singer was quoted as telling the people outside the hotel “This is the last time we’ll be in the UK as a band. We’ve broken up. We’re sorry.” There have been rumors going around for a while now that the group will be seeing their end soon due to their fighting. However, the group’s spokesperson adamantly refuted the breakup and was quoted saying “The girls are still together.”

Nothing in life is free, unless you’re famous. But even freebies can put you in trouble as Metallica’s bass player is finding out. The band’s bassist, Robert Trujillo, is in the middle of a serious legal battle. He had an existing promotional deal with Fernandes Guitars in North Hollywood. For being able to use his likeness in advertising, the company was giving Robert a pile of custom basses. However, Metallica has its own promo deal with ESP Guitars and now that Robert is part of the band, their lawyers have slapped Fernandes with a cease and desist letter demanding that they no longer use Robert or Metallica’s name or likeness.

According to the British media, BBC has offered girl group Girls Aloud their very own 8 part chat show which is said to be called ‘An Audience with Girls Aloud’. The deal they made is reportedly worth $1 million. A source revealed that “The girls are yet to sign, but they have all agreed to it. They would each be paid £20,000 ($40,000) per show. The band is going strong and they all want to commit to it 100 per cent.†BBC has been making singers into talk show hosts recently. Let’s just hope that the girls don’t turn out like Lily Allen. But then again, they’re much more likable than Lily anyway.

Supermodel/pop star cartoon character Jem might have been reincarnated in Agyness Deyn. A British music magazine, NME, is reporting that the model loved collaborating with the band Five O’Clock Heroes so much that she has formed her own band called Gene Jacket. Agyness said “We’ve got three or four songs, we wrote a really cool song at Coachella actually, which was exciting. It’s called ‘Hotel’. Well we originally wrote and recorded it in Japan, then added bits at the festival. It sounds like The Vaselines, maybe like Animal Collective. Just sounds, experimenting with stuff.†Her solo stuff sounded quite good so I’m expecting to hear some good stuff from her band too.

The Jonas Brothers took the stage of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on Tuesday to perform their hit song ‘When You Look Me in the Eyes’ and a cover of the 80s hit ‘Take on Me’. 20-year old Kevin, 18-year old Joe and 15-year old Nick took the time to post a bulletin on MySpace before the show. They said that they were dedicating their performance to a good friend who passed away unexpectedly on Monday night. The band of brothers left the dedication saying “We are dedicating our performance of ‘When You Look Me in the Eyes’ in honor of Stephanie. We will see you in ETERNITY!â€

This may be the beginning of the end for Velvet Revolver as the band’s front man Scott Weiland and drummer Matt Sorum don’t seem to be getting along well lately. At a show in Glasgow, UK last Thursday night, Weiland shocked the crowd and his band mates by announcing that they were “watching something special… the last tour by Velvet Revolver.” According to reports, the rest of the band was in disbelief. Sorum then unleashed some heated comments on his blog about not getting along with Weiland and Weiland not knowing how good he has it. Weiland then issued a statement to Blabbermouth mainly putting down Sorum’s accomplishments as compared to his.

The Jonas Brothers rocked the audience when they performed live on ‘The Early Show’ at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square, New York on Friday. If you weren’t able to catch that, catch them when they perform on the results show of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on Tuesday. And if you’re still not able to catch that, there is the current tour that they’re on and there’s also another tour lined up for this summer. Lots of Jonas to go around!

Chevy introduced its lineup of gas-friendly and gas-free vehicles as well as new green technology at the event.
Those Jonas boys just love being nice. Nick said “Being eco-friendly is important to us. We worked with our record label to come up with the first-ever CD-VU+ format, a 100-percent recyclable package.” I never even knew such a thing existed in the music industry.

Good news for all the teenyboppers of the world. The Jonas Brothers are releasing a new album this year. Their latest effort is set to be released this summer, specifically on July 8th. Their record is once again being produced by John Fields who supervised the sound boards for the brothers’ platinum self-titled debut album.
If you’re wondering just how they’ve been recording their album when they’re on a big tour with Miley ‘Hannah Montana’ Cyrus, the boys have actually been recording on their tour bus. I predict that they will totally eclipse Miley once their new album is out.

But ‘Bleeding Love’ is facing some stiff competition this holiday season. The rest of the singles chart, in order, is made up of T2 featuring Jodie Aysha with ‘Heartbroken’, Girls Aloud with ‘Call the Shots’, Timbaland with ‘Apologize’, Take That with ‘Rule the World’, Alicia Keys with ‘No One’, Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse with ‘Valerie’, Mariah Carey with ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’, Shayne Ward with ‘Breathless’ and Soulja Boy with ‘Crank That (Soulja Boy)’.

Nicole Scherzinger is about to come out with her solo album. Actually, it was supposed to come out long ago but it just wasn’t cutting it so they had to push back the release.
Either way, the other girls in the Pussycat Dolls must hate her right now. It’s not so much about her going solo but more because of what she said in an interview about working on a new PCD album. She sounded less than enthusiastic when she said “For me, I’m excited to do my stuff, because sometimes less is more. Right now I’m going to focus strictly on ‘Her Name Is Nicole’, but when the time is right, we have some PCD fans out there so we’ll maybe do another Pussycat Dolls album.”Kill!
