Dr Conrad Murray is set to launch a lawsuit against AEG for the medical services he provided for Michael Jackson, according to reports.
Miranda Sevcik, a publicist for Dr Murray’s lawyer claims that the music and entertainment group owes Murray US$300,000.
She says that AEG has been “dragging its feet”, even though Murray has requested that he get paid for two months of work for the late singer.
Sevcik claims that Murray gave up his medical practice to sign a binding deal with AEG - who have yet to pay up.
Sevcik told TMZ that Murray is not going to file a creditor’s claim against Jackson’s estate.
“Dr Murray needs the money and he’s entitled to the money based on the contract he signed with AEG,” she said.
AEG could not immediately be reached for comment.

Several sources are claiming that Steven Tyler has quit his job as the lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith. The musician has encountered a slew of injuries this year, including a broken shoulder in August and guitarist Joe Perry says that they have not been in contact for a full month after the accident. Joe informed reporters that Steven has “quit as far as I can tell”, further explaining “I don’t know any more than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don’t know.” Joe also says that Aerosmith still has plans to continue even without their mouth and will look for a new singer.

The female guitarist, who was chosen by Michael Jackson to play in his This Is It band, has spoken about the moment she heard he had died.

Orianthi Panagaris - a 24-year-old, blonde rocker from Adelaide - had been working with the music legend less than 24-hours before his sudden death.
On the day that he died - 25 June - she said that she had been getting ready for another evening of rehearsals.
She said: “I was actually getting ready for rehearsals.
“I was on Skype with my parents and… they said he had passed and I just started crying.
“I was like: ‘Is this serious?’ And my heart just sank. And it was like… How can he have passed when he was actually fine?’ There were no hints.”
She added: “It was very difficult. It was a life-changing experience to work with someone like Michael Jackson.”
Panagaris features heavily in Jacko’s box-office smash documentary This Is It, taken from hours of rehearsals for the star’s O2 shows. She also played at the late star’s memorial concert this summer.
She said: “He was very personable, very friendly and such a perfectionist. He wanted to make sure that everything was right with his band… and put on the ultimate show.”
She added: “I wish he was still with us. It was going to be the biggest show on earth.”

Madonna’s adopted daughter Mercy James, 4, has lost her native language in four months since leaving Malawi.
The tiny girl accompanied her megastar mother back to her country to open a girls school that was funded by Madonna. The singer was seen at the school in television footage wearing a dark print sari-style wrap over black garments and a ponytail.
The singer took all four of her children with her for the groundbreaking ceremony and the family went on a visit to the Mchinji orphanage.
Her other child adopted from Malawi, David Banda, 3, was said to know some of his Chichewa tongue, according to Lucy Chipeta of the orphanage where he lived until 2007.
Chipeta said: “David had forgotten us. He remembers a few words. Mercy is a real white girl. She couldn’t speak any.”
She added: “I am happy to see David look so happy. Madonna’s a very good mother. Her children are well-behaved. I think she’s more Malawian than American.”

Michael Jackson’s movie has exploded on to the box office to take the number one domestic spot with a staggering $7.4 million on its first day and $12.7 million overseas - a world total of $20.1 million.
The film set a record for the highest domestic takings for a movie opening on a Wednesday in October, nudging out Paranormal Activity, which grossed $1.5 million at the weekend from the top domestic spot.
This Is It, directed by Kenny Ortega, will be shown in cinemas on limited release around the world for just two weeks.
It features dancers handpicked by Jackson and 100 hours of rehearsal footage in the run-up to a UK tour he was to underake before his sudden death on June 25.
Distributor Sony could not have picked a better time to release the movie given the upcoming Halloween weekend and its spooky Thriller-like themes.

Mel B’s husband Stephen Belafonte reportedly threw a strop in London when he was asked if he was related to the American singer Harry Belafonte.
Stephen, 34, and wife Mel, also 34, were out at Berry Light District in Soho London when someone approached him and asked if he was related to the 82-year-old musician.
According to London newspaper Evening Standard, he said: “We’re not related. You just think all mixed-race people look the same. It’s just ignorance to think that.”
Stephen married Mel in a ceremony in 2007 in Las Vegas and then later renewed their vows in Egypt.

Here’s some big news for fans of ‘Glee’. Madonna has given the Fox hit TV show the rights to her entire music catalog. I wonder if this means that there will be an episode strictly with the singer’s music in the works. In a word – yes! The all Queen of Pop episode of ‘Glee’ is said to air early next year. I can’t wait to find out which of Madonna’s songs they will be using. Moreover, I can’t wait to hear their renditions of them. Here’s to hoping that Cory Monteith’s dancing will have improved by then. What songs do you want to see on the show?

Simon Cowell has said he was “stunned” that someone assaulted Leona Lewis at a recent book signing.
The 50-year-old X Factor judge said that he was shocked when Leona, 24, was punched by a man at a signing for her new book.
He said to British newspaper the Daily Star: “I was stunned anyone would want to attack her. We need to make sure she is protected.”
Simon also gave his views on the sudden death of Boyzone star Stephen Gately, who was recently found dead in his Majorca apartment.
He said: “I was shocked about Stephen. He was a charming, polite young man not affected by fame. It’s made me realise not to take life too seriously.
“You never know what’s round the corner.”

It seems that Aerosmith’s recording and touring break aren’t just because of lead singer Steven Tyler’s injuries from a recent stage accident. His ego can also be blamed. According to the band’s guitarist Joe Perry, Steven has not spoken to the rest of the band since the accident in August. If he does have to communicate, he does it through his new management team. Steven and Joe haven’t even written a song together for the past 10 years! For a band that’s been together for over 40 years, that’s just cold. Joe is staying optimistic that the band will be back on its feet though saying “I think we need more time to get everybody healthy and the whole thing, and see if Steven wants to be part of the band again.”

As previously reported, indie record labels Independieate and Domino Recording Company both filed a lawsuit against Guns N Roses claiming that the band copied two songs for their album ‘Chinese Democracy’. Both labels own the licensing rights to German musician Ulrich Schnauss’ music and claim that the band used the songs on the track ‘Riad N the Bedouins’ and are asking for $1 million in damages. GNR’s manager says that the band vigorously contests those claims saying “The band believed when the record came out and still believes that there are no unauthorized samples on the track. The snippets of ‘ambient noise’ in question were provided by a member of the album’s production team who has assured us that these few seconds of sound were obtained legitimately. Artists these days can’t read the minds of those they collaborate with and therefore are unfortunately vulnerable to claims like this one. While the band resents the implication that they would ever use another artist’s work improperly and are assessing possible counterclaims, they are confident this situation will be satisfactorily resolved.”

Head over to Tokio Hotel’s Myspace for an exclusive listen of their album Humanoid. The first single, “Automatic” is a metallic anthem with layered, buzzing guitars, stomping percussion, and a falsetto chorus made to be belted out by a stadium full of people while “World Behind My Wall” redefines the power ballad with depth, introspection, musical confidence and an irresistible sing-along chorus. The band tracked songs in Hamburg, Miami, and L.A. “Bill drove us all crazy, constantly coming in with things, even though the old songs weren’t finished yet,” says Tom, who’s fond of frequently ribbing his brother. “Apart from that, we just didn’t limit ourselves, and we used new instruments.”
The album does not hit stores until tomorrow, but the band is streaming all 12 tracks from the standard version until midnight. Like what you hear? Preorder the sci-fi themed release on iTunes now.

Introducing Orianthi, the guitar phenomenon who is featured prominently in the upcoming Michael Jackson concert documentary, This Is It. Already a renowned musician, Orianthi has been playing guitar since the age of eleven and was discovered by legend Carlos Santana. After playing with artists like Carrie Underwood, ZZ Top, and Prince, she received a MySpace message from Michael Jackson’s musical director asking her to audition for his comeback tour. Following a test run with the King of Pop himself, she was selected as his lead guitarist for his O2 arena dates in London - a crowning acheivement for the 24 year old from Adelaide, Australia.
Now Orianthi is preparing to release her solo debut album, Believe, on October 27th. In addition to her talent at guitar, Orianthi has a gorgeous voice and even sang at Michael Jackson’s Staples Center memorial service. Even before starting rehearsals for his tour though, she was hard at work writing and recording the album with her band. Believe is full of anthemic rock tracks with a sound reminiscent of Paramore or Evanescence, but entirely Orianthi thanks to her signature shreds and thunderous hooks. Her first single, “According to You” is a catchy tale of an ungrateful boyfriend, featuring a killer guitar solo.
To hear the story in her own words, watch Orianthi in this segment from Australia’s Today show. Visit Orianthi.com for updates on this rising star, and be sure to check her out in This Is It out on October 28th.

To celebrate the release of their eighth studio album, Crash Love, AFI took to the stage at the world famous Roxy on Sunset thanks to local Los Angeles radio station KROQ. In front of an intimate crowd of hundred’s, rather than thousands that typically fill AFI shows, the band played a thrashing 14 song set filled with classics of the past, and a handful of Crash Love gems that are soon to be just that. Highlights of the night were too many to capsulize, but front man Davey Havok’s front flip into the waiting crowd on “Kill Caustic” and the stunning rendition of The Cure’s classic “Just Like Heaven” marked just a few of the moments that lit up the night. Reminiscent of 1995, AFI welcomed Nick 13 (Tiger Army) and Geoff Kresge (ex AFI/Tiger Army) to the stage to sing “Nyquil,” a track from the band’s first album, Answer That and Stay Fashionable. Electric performances of AFI’s radio singles “Miss Murder” and Crash Love’s “Medicate” put a cap on a night that will not soon be forgotten by the fan’s lucky enough to be present that night.
Fans of AFI who could not be at the show now have the chance to watch a handful of videos from the epic evening on KROQ.com. To find out when and where you can see AFI live, visit AFireInside.net/events. Crash Love is in-stores now and available everywhere good music is sold.

Singer Keri Hilson has urged music lovers to forgive rapper Kanye West after all the drama he caused at this year’s Video Music Awards.
Kanye ruined country singer Taylor Swift’s, 19, acceptance speech at the MTV awards by taking the microphone off her and saying she didn’t deserve to win, but Keri wants everyone to forgive him.
Hilson, 26, who is hosting the upcoming MOBO Awards, told British newspaper the Daily Star: “Kanye’s a very confident man but not arrogant. He’s just very open and honest.
“People aren’t used to seeing such an unguarded artist. I admire the hell out of how gutsy he is.”
Keri now wants people to forgive him as we should appreciate his honesty.
She added: “The world isn’t used to hearing what an artist really feels about himself or to other people’s music.”

Earlier this year, the guys of the band Coldplay found themselves in a sticky situation when guitarist Joe Satriani accused singer Chris Martin and the rest of the band of plagiarizing his song and creating ‘Viva La Vida’. Just this past week, the victory was sweet and perhaps costly for the UK band as a judge announced that the lawsuit has been dismissed upon stipulation which suggests that they settle the matter out of court. I can only imagine what a pretty penny it cost to have that guy keep quiet about everything. I bet that Joe is probably getting a huge cut off of the song’s profits.

Rolling Stone Ron Wood has split with his girlfriend of a year after a raging row that ended in police being called to the scene.
Wood stormed from his £35million home after a loud brawl erupted with his 20-year-old Russian girlfriend, Ekaterina Ivanova.
The argument was believed to stem from Wood’s plans to have dinner with his estranged wife, Jo, a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing. The pair has a daughter, Leah, who has a baby named Maggie Dylan.
Ivanova was heard threatening to kill herself. A neighbour said Ivanova could be heard shouting: “I’m going to kill myself. You are going to find me dead.”
Wood was said to have replied: “F— off home, you slut.”
“The noise was just terrible. They were screaming abuse at each other and it’s no surprise the cops were called, especially considering what Ekaterina was saying,” said the neighbour.

Activision better get to stepping because no one is happy with the representation of late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain on the newly released ‘Guitar Hero 5’. After the rocker’s widow Courtney Love threatened to sue the game’s publisher over the disrespectful avatar, Nirvana band members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl released a joint statement last week saying “While we were aware of Kurt’s image being used with two Nirvana songs, we didn’t know players have the ability to unlock the character. This feature allows the character to be used with any kind of song the player wants. We urge Activision to do the right thing in ‘re-locking’ Kurt’s character so that this won’t continue in the
