Newton Faulkner, goes into summer 2008 with the release of his latest single ‘Gone in the Morning’ on July 7th through Ugly Truth Records.
A massive live favorite ‘Gone in the Morning’ is the perfect summer anthem-in-waiting, ideal for beach, picnic or garden with its infectious chorus, supersharp vocals and rolling bassline.
‘Gone in the Morning’ is the latest track to be taken from Newton’s spectacularly successful Number One & Double Platinum debut album, ‘Hand Built By Robots’, which has so far sold 700,000 copies in the UK alone.
23 year old Newton has also started spreading the word globally with his first North American and European live dates - a highlight being an especially exciting performance that took place in a hot air balloon high over the Swiss Alps. The Jonas Brothers took the stage of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on Tuesday to perform their hit song ‘When You Look Me in the Eyes’ and a cover of the 80s hit ‘Take on Me’. 20-year old Kevin, 18-year old Joe and 15-year old Nick took the time to post a bulletin on MySpace before the show. They said that they were dedicating their performance to a good friend who passed away unexpectedly on Monday night. The band of brothers left the dedication saying “We are dedicating our performance of ‘When You Look Me in the Eyes’ in honor of Stephanie. We will see you in ETERNITY!â€
American Idol Rip Off

The rocker of this season’s American Idol, David Cook, was on fire with his rendition of the Beatles classic ‘Eleanor Rigby’ on Tuesday night but a Seattle band is claiming that he ripped off the arrangement from them. The band Doxology recorded their version of the song over a year ago and put it up on iTunes and the band’s MySpace. Their manager claims that the song is what they’re best known for and have played it at nearly 200 shows. They say that they have no intention of suing but they are trying to get in touch with the show hoping to at least get a bit of props.
