Nelly: Actor

Rapper Nelly recently made an appearance on the hit CBS drama ‘CSI: NY’. His character has a multi-episode arc where he plays a club owner who serves as a confidential informant to Detective Mac Taylor, played by actor Gary Sinise, and his team. The show’s executive producer Pam Veasey said of Nelly’s performance that “He’s a great actor. He really stepped up.” That’s more than you can say for other musicians turned actors. Nelly has real talent. I wonder if he’ll be doing any more acting. Currently, the rapper is on tour in support of his fifth studio album ‘Brass Knuckles’.

MTV and their Choose or Lose campaign have partnered up with CNN to support veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. On October 24th, ‘A Night for Vets: An MTV Concert for the BRAVE’ will air at 8PM on MTV. The show’s name is a reference to the petition MTV and several veterans’ organizations created called the Bill of Rights for American Veterans (BRAVE). Some of the celebrities that will take part include 50 Cent, Ludacris and Saving Abel, Kanye West, Kid Rock, Fall Out Boy, Angels and Airwaves, Nelly, Juanes and Taylor Swift. The president of MTV said “It doesn’t matter where you stand on the war, we can all agree that young veterans serving our country must receive the benefits they’ve earned for their sacrifices. We aim to elevate these issues and ensure they’re a top priority for our government officials.”

Rapper Nelly has turned into a model as he is the new spokesperson for Sean John underwear. Sean ‘Diddy’ combs said in the press release “I have known Nelly for many years and I really admire his work. To me, Nelly is the quintessential definition of the Sean John man. He has the attitude, the swagger, and most of all the physique that our customers can both aspire and relate to. And let’s be honest, all of the ladies out there are going to be thanking us for this campaign. The images are so strong; they speak for themselves. We are truly excited to welcome Nelly into the Sean John family.” Nelly then adds “I have been a big fan of Diddy and the Sean John clothing line for years. So, when they asked me to work with them, it was a real honor. I hope my fans will enjoy this campaign as much as I did shooting it.”

Fergie performed with Nelly at the MTV Video Music Japan on Saturday. Do you remember all those pregnancy rumors that came out after she announced that she was engaged? Well, there’s still no sign of a baby bump but there’s been substantial increase in her waist measurement. The singer is looking a bit soft in the middle if you ask me. There’s nothing wrong with that though. But considering that she shows off her tummy as part of her living, you would think she would at least make an effort and keep toned. Now her stomach matches her butter face.
