Taylor Swift Talks Taylor Lautner

In the December issue of InStyle magazine, Taylor Swift discusses her love of the single life and her fondness of ‘Twilight’ star Taylor Lautner. The country singer said “He and I have gotten really close. It would be confusing on the set with two Taylors in the same scene. They were like, ‘Taylor, on your mark – no, not you, the other one!’ So halfway through the shoot, I said, ‘How about you guys call me Swifty and call him Taylor?’” The actor seems to be fond of her too as he said “Taylor is hilarious. It was definitely not hard to play her love interest.”

Taylor Swift Makes CMA History

At 19 years old, Taylor Swift rocked the Country Music Association Awards this past Wednesday by winning all 4 awards for which she was nominated and making her the youngest person and first female solo act to win the Country Music Association’s entertainer of the year award. The golden girl of a singer said “I’ll never forget this moment because in this moment everything that I have ever wanted has just happened to me. Every single person in that category let me open up for them this year. Thank you all so much. I love you.” Taylor brought her band on stage to help her celebrate and her father was shown crying in the audience. Congratulations!

Taylor Swift on SNL

Taylor Swift is going to be on Saturday Night Live on November 7th. I’m sure that the show will be taking full advantage of the infamous Kanye West situation during the country singer’s opening monologue, perhaps even during the entire show when she hosts and performs. The teenager has even been thinking about skit ideas, saying “There are definitely some hilarious things that have happened to me over the past couple of months that I think will be pretty substantial skits.” Taylor also hopes to be able to team up with Andy Samberg on a digital short music video. She said “I’ve gone back and re-watched everything over the past couple of months and digital shorts would be so much fun to do, because they’ve done so well. Andy Samberg is hilarious.”

Taylor Swift Goes on Tour Again

Did you miss the chance to catch Taylor Swift when she swung into town for her sold out ‘Fearless’ tour this past summer? Well the country singing cutie is giving you another chance to catch her concert because she’s coming back for more. Starting February in Australia, the singer will be playing more than 5 shows down under and over 30 shows across Canada and the US. The tour will kick off on February 4th in Brisbane, Australia and will wrap up on June 2nd in Washington DC. Taylor spoke about the new tour saying “We had so much fun on the `Fearless’ tour the first time around that we decided that we had to keep going with it.”

MTV VMAs Pumped Up Music Sales

It’s been a long time since I found myself able to say this but MTV is actually driving music sales up! While the public’s reaction to Kanye West’s behavior during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech seems to be the most talked about stunt at this year’s VMAs, the music itself is also getting some recognition. All of the performers at the show are seeing a huge increase in their music sales including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Jay-Z, Pink and Taylor, whose iTunes sales went up by 80%. British band Muse also performed for the first time on American TV and the sale of their album skyrocketed as a result of the VMAs.

Kanye West Apologizes

Kanye West definitely stole the show at the 2009 MTV VMAs when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech when she won the award for Best Female Video. Just hours after the incident, the rapper took to his official blog to issue an apology. He said “I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID… I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!… I’M NOT CRAZY YALL, I’M JUST REAL. SORRY FOR THAT!!! I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR TAYLOR AND I’M SINCERELY SORRY!!! MUCH RESPECT!!!!!”

Classy Beyonce makes sure Taylor Swift gets her moment of VMAs glory

SPL64942_013

Big-hearted Beyonce made sure Taylor Swift got her moment of glory at the MTV Video Music Awards by inviting her back on stage after tactless Kanye West wrecked her acceptance speech.

Classy Beyonce called Taylor to join her as she collected the Best Music Video Award and gave the country starlet chance to finish the speech Kanye rudely interrupted.

Stars in the audience including Katy Perry and Lady GaGa stood to applaud teenager Taylor and the generous gesture.

Emotional Taylor gave Beyonce a big hug before going on to finish her thank-yous for her Best Female Video Award.

Ironically, Kanye had stormed the stage because he thought that award should have gone to Beyonce for Single Ladies, which ended up taking the Best Video prize.

Beyonce told the audience: “I remember being 17 years old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments in my life.

“So I would like Taylor to come out and have her moment.”

Taylor, who had earlier been left stunned when Kanye grabbed the microphone from her, smiled: “Maybe we can try again.

    Taylor Swift Does Westside Story

Taylor Swift sings the classing song ‘Tonight’ in a ‘West Side Story’ inspired promo video for the 2009 MTV VMAs. The 19-year old country singer spoke of her version of the song saying “My version of ‘Tonight’ was pretty theatrical, because I listened to the song and I heard the song and I’m just like, ‘There’s no way to do this and not play it up’.

Taylor Swift Gets Teen Choice Surprise

Taylor Swift was recently given a big surprise by her friends at her Omaha concert this past Sunday. The country singer’s close friends, Kellie Pickler and Abigail, took to the stage with a big sign that told Taylor that she had won two Teen Choice Awards. Taylor’s honors included Choice Female Artist and Choice Female Album for ‘Fearless’. She totally deserved those awards. I just wished she was there at the ceremony to perform rather than have to sit and watch Miley Cyrus do her lousy pole dance. I wonder if Taylor’s going to learn how to surf now that she owns two surf boards.

Joe Jonas Rags on Taylor Swift

For someone who doesn’t want to have his private affairs out in the open, Joe Jonas just can’t leave well enough alone. At the Jonas Brothers concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma last week, the singer made some impromptu changes to the song ‘Much Better’. Instead of singing the lyrics “now I’m done with super stars,” Joe sang “now I’m done with country stars’. It’s an obvious reference to his ex-girlfriend, country singing cutie Taylor Swift. Nick’s look of utter surprise to the lyrics change made the whole situation funnier. Real mature Joe. I wonder what your current girlfriend Camilla Belle thinks of you rehashing the past.

    Taylor Swift Causes Traffic Jam

Cops sealed off traffic in all directions, blasted sirens to clear a path and forced hundreds of frustrated drivers into gridlock all so Taylor Swift could get to the airport on time. Students at Bishop Ireton High School in Virginia were thrilled that the country singing cutie showed up to their school but the people stuck in the wake of her traffic-stopping motorcade were might pissed when they found out who was behind the delay. Taylor went straight to Dulles Airport where she boarded a private jet. And get this – Taylor was in such a mad rush so she can make it to Britney Spears’ Chicago show. Britney recently got the same police escort treatment when she had a concert in LA.

    Taylor Swift Still Rules

For the seventh nonconsecutive week, Taylor Swift’s album has been at the number one spot on the Billboard 200. The country singing sweetheart’s album has now become the longest running number one album by a solo female artist since Alanis Morissette and her 1995 record ‘Jagged Little Pill’. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Taylor’s ‘Fearless’ sold 63,000 copies during the last week and has sold 2.3 million so far. Beyonce just can’t seem to pass Taylor. She’s currently the runner up with ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’ selling 49,000 copies. That was a good week for Beyonce but it just wasn’t good enough to beat Taylor.

    Taylor Swift Makeover

Taylor Swift has the number 1 album in America once again. For the sixth consecutive week, the country singing sweetheart has taken control of the top spot on the Billboard 200. Her album is now the first to spend six weeks at the top since the 2005 release of rapper 50 Cent ‘The Massacre’. Taylor seems to be enjoying her time at the top. The talented singer is guest starring on ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’. She’s playing Haley Jones, a dark teen whose family runs some little motel in Vegas. That explains the dark hair and alternative look. It looks good on her.

Country Singer Taylor Swift has the #1 stop again

Country singer Taylor Swift has reclaimed the #1 billing and with that the top spot on the Billboard’s U.S. pop album chart for the third time in non-consecutive weeks. That is remarkable in some ways because after taking the top spot her album did see a dip and has climbed back to that position not once but twice.

This is a clear indication for her growing popularity and the nineteen year-old took the spot on Wednesday with her release Fearless, which sold 330,000 copies on the week ending December 21.

Taylor’s narrowly beat R&B star Keyshia Cole, her debut album A Different Me sold 322,000 copies, taking in the number two spot in its opening week. Singer/actor Jamie Foxx who was also making his debut with the album Intuition grabbed the 3rd spot, with sales of 265,000 copies.

But what is really heartening to see it that Britney Spears successful comeback seems to be continuing for now with Circus selling 196,000 copies which put Britney at the forth position. In fifth place is Beyonce with her release I Am…Sasha Fierce, which sold 195,000.

    Taylor Swift Tops the Charts

Taylor Swift has taken the album chart by storm but the country singing sweetheart is also ripping it up on the singles charts. With her song ‘White Horse’, Taylor Swift was able to score her 6th top 20 debut. That count is just for this year! According to reports, that’s a calendar year record for any artist in the 50-year history of the chart. Taylor Swift broke the record of the Jonas Brothers with 5. Taylor is also tied for second place with Mariah Carey and the Beatles for the most top 20 debuts in a career. One more new entry in the singles chart will put her in a 3-way tie for first place with Janet Jackson and Madonna.
