Coldplay Gets Delayed

Reports are saying that Coldplay has been forced to postpone the start of their North American tour by 2 weeks due to some so-called production delays. The tour will now kick off in LA on July 14th. The band’s tour was supposed to wrap up in Chicago on August 4th but will instead come to an end that same day in Boston. Tickets for the thrown out dates will be valid for the new ones and refunds are also available at points of purchase. There’s an updated itinerary posted on Coldplay’s website. The band’s previously announced free shows in London on June 16, Barcelona on June 17 and New York on June 23 will go on as planned.

It’s widely known that Avril Lavigne’s concert is doing very poorly in the ticket sales but did you know just how desperate people are to get rid of the tickets? For her show in Buffalo, New York, whatever number of fans the Canadian had left were able to buy 4 tickets for $98. That’s less than $25 per ticket. In West Palm Beach, Florida, you can watch Avril for a mere $9. That’s even less than the price of watching a movie. And in my opinion, you’re better off watching a movie even if it’s one of those cheesy 80s horror films that you’re more than likely to laugh at than get scared of.

It’s pretty well known that Avril Lavigne has been having a hard time moving tickets for her tour. A few days before it kicked off, she was still having problems with sales that they’ve taken very costly measures just to get bodies in the concert venues. MuchOnDemand recently did a give away for Avril concert tickets recently and they gave away a whopping 8 tickets! 2 tickets is the standard giveaway for a radio station. If that doesn’t sound like trouble to you then you have some problems. But she has to fill those seats one way or another. She’s losing money either way, might as well have someone laugh at that fact.
Stingy Spice

Well it seems that the genius behind the Spice Girls; multi millionaire Simon Fuller, is a penny pinching scrooge; despite his millions. He has told the girls that there will be absolutely NO freebies, not for friends or anyone else; meaning the girls’ A-list chums such as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will have to pay if they want to support them in their forthcoming comeback tour.
However, I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t really sympathise. Tom and Katie are loaded; and if you have money then you should pay just like everyone else. That’s why Simon is a huge success and has more money than all five spices put together. And I doubt the girls will complain about the extra cash from ticket sales.
Sorry guys no free ticket giveaways. Though you can win Mel B’s eyelashes through a weird competition on the girls’ website…
Free Avril

News broke out that Avril Lavigne’s Spring 2008 tour is not selling well. In light of that, Avril is settling for a free concert. While it’s not really that bad to hear, when you find out that it’s for the opening of Best Buy in Canada, yeah it is bad.
The Canadian sell out’s concert will be at the Swangard Stadium on December 2 at 1 PM for the free concert. The first 350 people at any Best Buy store in the Lower Mainland on Wednesday and Thursday before noon will get a pair of tickets for the show. There are also free VIP passes and autograph passes being given away.
Carrie Underwood and Keith to Tour

She’s snagged a couple of Country Music awards and a ‘Gossip Girl’ hottie in the form of Chace Crawford. It seems that Carrie Underwood is on a roll and now, she’s taking Keith Urban with her.
She has reportedly signed on for a 24-city tour with Keith Urban that’s set to kick off next year. The ‘Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Carnival Ride Tour’ is sure to make headlines as Keith and Carrie are two of the hottest things in country music right now. Tickets for their joint tour will go on sale come December 1.
I can already see country music fans lining up.
Beyonce and Jay-Z Pair Up

For the umpteenth time since they first paired up for the 2003 hit ‘Crazy in Love’ real-life musicians and lovers Jay-Z and Beyonce are teaming up. And it’s also shaping up to be the hottest ticket for the New Year’s Eve weekend.
Life & Style magazine is reporting that the first couple of hip hop will perform together around 12:30 am on December 30 for the Las Vegas opening of Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club. A friend of the couple reveals that the 37-year old rapper “wants his club to be the ultimate in entertainment. He knows the buzz is going to be huge.”
The Spice Girls Team Up With Some Angels

All you Spice Girls fanatics get ready because their much anticipated Greatest Hits album is almost here. The CD, which features 13 of their best selling hits along with 3 remix dance versions of old songs, just went on presale and will go on until midnight of Thursday October 18 only on the Victoria’s Secret website. I just wait for it, it should be awesome and I personally think that this Greatest Hits album has a chance to create a record of sorts when it goes on sale for the most number of copies order in an hour for a Greatest Hits album. Well on the other hand even if the album doesn’t create any records during the first day of sales I think the band has already created enough hoop hoola for their upcoming world tour that all these marketing gimmicks and heavy promotions are going to land them huge tickets sales and millions of dollars in revenues.
Jackson Ordered to Pay Attorneys’ Legal Bills

Michael Jackson may not live like the rest of us, but he still has to pay his bills like an average Joe. A judge has ordered the Thriller artist to fork over $175,000 in attorneys’ fees for the Torrance, California, law firm that sued him last year to recoup the cash for services rendered on his behalf. I think someday this guy is going to be bankrupt and shall be lost in the jungles of some rain forest searching for some bananas on the trees while mingling with orangutans who will be shooing him away from their branches. Michael Jackson should have paid them all the bills because he was the one who hired them in the first place and if they gave him the services he asked for then it’s a simple open and shit, no sorry open and shut case. Actually he is paying back for the heavy priced tickets that his fans paid to he him in his hay days and now the money is all being spent to pay someone else’s bills, money is no one’s property the way it comes it goes the same way.

Try and try until you succeed. That’s a line that Kelly Clarkson seems to believe.
Despite her latest album ‘My December’ being a certified flop commercially, Kelly is still intent on going on tour in support of the record. She had to cancel an arena tour this past summer due to poor ticket sales. A tour went on though, just in smaller venues.
She also has no plans to record another album any time soon. Doesn’t she want to get her name and her music out of the dirt? A new and better album is the only way Kelly! Get your act together before you turn into Britney.
Ludacris Concert Canceled

Rapper Ludicrous has been forced to cancel a forthcoming gig in Boston, Massachusetts, because of poor ticket sales. The Stand Up singer - real name Christopher Bridges - was due to play at the Eastern States Exposition on September 30 but the concert has now been pulled due to lack of demand. That is sad to read. I would hope that fans are not doing this out of hate or the media. The man has some good music going on that needs to be heard by all. If he cusses or uses the “N” word take it in stride if it does not pertain to you as a Hip Hop fan. What is this world coming to? I hope you have your say. Love ya! If you were a fan in the past don’t turn your back on Hip Hop or Luda. Where is the LOVE for music? I bet if Britney would show how many would show their faces? Recently even Kelly Clarkson also cancelled her tour because of poor ticket sales and has now announced new dates. Infact people do not want to listen to these singers and the singer cannot swallow this fact.

British pop star Robbie Williams dreams of being hailed a “national treasure” and is aiming to become the U.K.’s “number one male”. The Angels hitmaker recently posted a bizarre video of himself online, in which he appears disheveled and confused, sparking fears for his mental health. But the 33-year-old singer refutes claims he is unwell and told teammates in his American soccer side LA Vale he would like enduring fame in Britain. National Treasure he and many of this era’s pop and more so the rappers are nothing but crap and a cruse to man kind. He might make good hit music but some of his peers are only worth being named national treasure. How he even imagine being called something so worthy. He better book a long ticket to the mental care intensive care unit rather than thinking on anything else. He posts such ridiculous pictures of himself on the blogs and websites that he could easily be branded a ‘Mad Max’ brand ambassador. Most of the music that is today played on the radio is total crap thanks to people like Robbie.
Lopez to go on tour with husband

Singer Jennifer Lopez has announced she is to embark on her first concert tour, alongside husband Marc Anthony.
The pair will launch their joint tour on 29 September in Atlantic City - the first in a series of dates in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.The couple, who married in 2004, will perform together and separately in both English and Spanish.
Lopez and Anthony will soon be seen in the US in El Cantante, a film biopic of Puerto Rican singer Hector Lavoe.
The pair previously performed a duet together at the Grammy Awards in 2005.
Anthony said he was looking forward to introducing his wife to life on the road.
“Jennifer has never toured,” he said. “I’ve toured all my life. This is where I can step in and say, ‘Oh my god, this could be fun.’”
A proportion of ticket sales will be directed towards a charitable initiative aimed at reducing childhood obesity in schools with high Latino enrolment.
Streisand ticket prices spark outcry in Italy

Barbra Streisand may still be remembered for her Oscar-winning role in the 1968 film “Funny Girl”, but Italy’s big consumer groups have found nothing funny about the prices of tickets to her concert in Rome next month.
The Codacons and Adusbef groups have asked Rome’s city government and Italy’s Olympic Committee to deny permission for the singer to use the Flaminio Stadium on June 16 because they say the tickets to her concert are wildly exorbitant.
In a toughly worded statement, the consumer groups said the prices of the tickets, which range from $295 to $1,210 were “absurd and shameful”.
It said that since the stadium is public property it “cannot be used for contracts that are immoral and which heap shame on a civilized country”.
By comparison, the best seats at Milan’s La Scala opera house run to about $269.
The 65-year-old singer and actress will be accompanied by a 58-piece orchestra as she starts a European tour.
The stadium, which is owned by the city and managed by the Italian Olympic Committee, has a capacity of about 25,000 spectators.
Organizers of the Streisand concert were not immediately available for comment.
Barbra Streisand may be really a big singer who deserves attention but those prices are not real. Not so much people are ready to give so huge amount of money to see their favorite singer. The organizers should think that the great part of Streisand’s audience would be of people who can’t afford such ticket price.
Lilly Allen Vs Cheryl Cole

These two ladies really have an open conflict, reminding me of some rapper beefs in the past. Of course it is not to such extent but it reaches heights previously unthought-of by the two. Lilly Allen wrote that:
“After reading Cheryl Tweedy (nee Cole)’s comments branding me a ‘chick with a d***’ I was feeling pretty low…Cheryl if you’re reading this, I may not be as pretty as you but at least I write and SING my own songs without the aid of Autotune.”
Cheryl Cole on the other hand said in the Mirror:
“Over the last few months she has called Nicola (Roberts) ugly, which I bit my tongue over. She called Sarah (Harding) vile and my husband horrendous, but seems to have conveniently forgotten all of that. I can’t stand people who give it but aren’t prepared to take it back. If that’s the case she should keep her mouth shut instead of feeling sorry for herself. I could go on but I left school a long time ago and have no time for this.” She also said: “I’m currently on a big arena tour with the girls singing live each night. Lily I could find you a spare ticket if you’d like to come and experience what a live arena tour is like… as that’s the closest you’ll get to it.”
Even if a lot of men have suggested that the two ladies should settle this in a wrestling match (preferably mud or oil wrestling would be the top choices they would have) the conflict still rages on and it is interesting to see what will be next.
Britney Spears to Sing in South Beach

It looks like Britney’s mini-tour of trying to get some popularity back is reaching Florida. Her mini tour (which is not such a secret and is not as spontaneous as we thought in the beginning) will continue with two shows, the first one in Orlando on Saturday and the second one in Miami on Sunday. What is strange is that the Orlando “concert” is sold out and the Miami one (taking place at Mansion Nightclub) still has tickets available for $40. Britney Spears still has a lot of fans and it looks like no matter what she did fame and success is coming back. The former Pop Queen will be back on top, I am sure of that, but maybe this is not really quite the way to do it. Starting a mini tour with a 15 minutes “concert” on each show together with clubs charging $40 for a ticket does not really look like a good career “rehab” choice to me.
Britney Shows But Fans Still Disappointed

Britney Spears is still in the news. Yes, I know I’ve written about her non-stop, but when you have good stuff you just don’t pass it up. At the House of Blues in San Diego Brit did indeed show up at the M + M concert, but only for about 15 minutes. Fans bought tickets in droves for the concert in the hopes that Brit would show, and she did. However, she was lip-syncing her songs, and was definitely a little more than pudgy around the middle. Fans were outrages that she would have the gall to appear and yet not sing her own songs.
Have you ever tried to sing and dance at the same time? I have, and in my days of musical theater I learned that it’s no easy feat. Britney hasn’t been on stage since 1994. Personally, with all that’s going on, I am shocked she decided to sing at all. I think fans should cut her some slack. It’s not like she was throwing shoes at them or anything.
