Britney Spears revealed on the Late Show how the country would be different if she was President.
The Circus star looked red-hot - showing off her newly toned body in a bikini - appearing with David Letterman to read out the legendary Top Ten list entitled: “Ways the country would be different if Britney Spears were President.”
The pop princess’ pledges included “free pie for everybody” and a “nightclub on the moon”.
She joked that the number one difference if she was President would be that “the media might finally pay attention to me”.

American Idol alum Kimberley Locke has been off of the radar for a while but someone clearly hasn’t forgotten about her as she has recently been offered a job. The singer has reportedly been offered to be the host of a reality TV show called ‘Making the Curve’ which will follow talented, plus-sized women as they compete and strive to be a part of a hit pop musical group. The show is currently not under any network but I doubt that it’s going to last long. Considering that the show’s premise can attract viewers and that the host will gladly accept minimal pay, it should be a good deal for any fall schedule.

Simon Cowell has revealed there will be a new format to The X Factor this year.
The 49-year-old is a judge on the British talent show and revealed contestants at the audition stage will now have an audience to appear in front of as well as the judging panel.
He said: “I decided that we were going to change the way we do the auditions. We made a decision that we are now going to do the auditions in front of a live audience.”
Cowell also said there isn’t tension and conflict between the show’s female judges Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole.
He said: “Girls are girls. They always want to be the centre of attention. I don’t think anyone has ended up best friends but they don’t hate each other. I think they like each other now.”

The eighth season of American Idol has kicked off on Tuesday night and it was a pretty boring audition episode. The new judge, Kara DioGuardi, added a pretty nice twist to the panel of judges though. The highlight of the night came when Ryan Seacrest tried to high five one of the blind contestants. Smooth. Maybe he was so dumbfounded by the bikini girl who kissed him. That or he’s just not thinking. Ryan also recently addressed Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie “snubbing him” at the Golden Globes. He said on his show “I don’t think Angelina thinks I’m that important. I don’t think I’m top of mind for Brad and Angelina. I honestly don’t believe they’d know who I was if I walked over there.”

American Idol has been on a decline for a good while now so in an effort to reverse its ratings decline, the show is making a few minor adjustments this season. The changes will officially be announced within the week but they have already been leaked via a fansite which somehow got a hold of the production memo. There will be fewer audition rounds and more Hollywood episodes. There will be 36 semifinalists instead of 24. The second chance wild card round will also be brought back. As previously said, Idol Gives Back will also be cut this year but will return next year and will be an every other year event from then on.

R&B singer Leona Lewis apparently developed such a great fondness of the show that granted her a debut that she desperately wants to be a part of it once more… but this time, in the judging box. She states that “’Maybe I could go back on it as a judge. Not yet, but in a few years. But I think I’d be a bit lenient – I’d be crying every few seconds!” Let’s just suppose that the extra years will give her the necessary experience to do such a job… but there is this absurd notion that judges usually have to be objective… not waste a gallon or two of diluted sodium chloride every time they have to do their job. But the way “talent” shows go these days, it probably wouldn’t be that big of an issue.

Here’s another attempt at trying to revive a dead career with the help of reality TV. But it’s more likely to pay the legal bills. The latest to get his own program is beleaguered rapper DMX. The show ‘DMX: This Life of Mine’ will follow the rapper around and even document his many legal problems. Here’s to hoping they’ll be filming and he gets arrested. He’s been arrested six times just this year alone and there’s still months to go before it ends. Apparently, the show will feature DMX as he tries to get his life together after all of the mess ups he’s had this year.

American Idol season three champion Fantasia Barrino performed her new single ‘Bore Me’ during Wednesday’s elimination show of American Idol. The former champ shocked viewers with her bright red hair and a black bejeweled jumpsuit. It’s one of those things that you replay in your head (or your TiVo) just to check if it really happened. The best reaction may have come from Simon Cowell who was at the judges table looking aghast with his mouth hanging open. I guess he never expected his sweet little Fantasia of seasons past to turn out like that. Oh how the times have changed.

It is being reported that American Idol contestant David Archuleta’s dad Jeff has officially been banned from the show. Sources say that Jeff has been a complete pain interfering with the entire production. From badgering producers, the band, vocal coaches and even the other contestants, someone has finally had enough. The final straw came when Jeff wanted to change the lyrics to David’s song ‘Stand by Me’ by adding Sean Kingston’s lyrics from ‘Beautiful Girls’. Producers were reportedly beyond pissed when David sang it on the show. Changing the lyrics caused problems with the song’s publisher and cost the show a lot of money. Jeff was ordered to sit with AI lawyers last week who told him he was “banned from being in the rooms where David was learning or rehearsing his songs.†He can sit in the audience during the live shows but he’s banned backstage.

The American Idol top 4 took to the stage this week singing songs by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. David Archuleta got the thumbs up from all three judges on his two songs ‘Stand By Me’ and ‘Love Me Tender’. The judges were split on Syesha Mercado’s songs ‘Proud Mary’ and ‘A Change is Gonna Come’. David Cook struck out with ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’ but came back strong with ‘Baba O’Reilly’. Jason Castro, however, just couldn’t catch a break by being too predictable with ‘I Shot the Sheriff’ and forgot the lyrics to ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’. At this point, that’s a big mistake for the dreadlocked Idol.

He has a reality show, showed up to the CMT Music Awards looking like a Western vampire and now, Snoop Dogg is set to make an appearance on the ABC daytime soap ‘One Life to Live’ with two episodes featuring him scheduled to air next month. They apparently worked the rapper into a bachelorette party storyline where he’ll perform the tracks ‘Sensual Seduction’ and ‘Life of da Party’. It is also being reported that Snoop reworked the show’s theme and will replace the original theme on the two episodes in which he features. Snoop also reveals that he’s actually a fan of the show saying “I’ve been a fan of ‘One Life to Live’ since I was a baby. My momma always had it on the tube in the crib growing up. The opportunity to change up the theme song and give it some of my flavor will make the show the life of the party.â€

In a first, American Idol producers chose to do a Beatles theme for the second time in one season – and back to back too! While there’s a lot in the legendary band’s catalog to choose from, it seems that most of the contestants didn’t know which was what. A lot of them sucked on that show! As for who paid the price – Amanda Overmyer was cast off the show. Kristy Lee Cook, who in my opinion should have left last week, was also in the bottom three. The third member was Carly Smithson. Shocking! Among the girls, she’s the golden girl – at least when it comes to her vocal chaps.

The rocker of this season’s American Idol, David Cook, was on fire with his rendition of the Beatles classic ‘Eleanor Rigby’ on Tuesday night but a Seattle band is claiming that he ripped off the arrangement from them. The band Doxology recorded their version of the song over a year ago and put it up on iTunes and the band’s MySpace. Their manager claims that the song is what they’re best known for and have played it at nearly 200 shows. They say that they have no intention of suing but they are trying to get in touch with the show hoping to at least get a bit of props.

It is being reported that, as of now, the recording industry has absolutely no interest in the female contestants in American Idol as their focus is exclusively on two male contestants. Some well-connected record industry sources say that the major publishers which include Sony and Warner have their sights set on David Archuleta and David Hernandez. The big wigs have already told their songwriters to write songs specifically for the two Davids whether they win or not. Idol sources say that this is the earliest that publishers have ever committed to the contestants.

And pisses off execs at NBC in the process.
Sources say Mariah Carey, her manager Benny Medina, and reps at Def Jam are on the NBC bad list. Seems they promised that Mariah would do an appearance and performance on Today to promote her new album E=MC2. Instead, she’s going to be on ABCs Good Morning America, a rival show.
No word yet on how NBC will retaliate!

Lily Allen was caught by photographers just as she bursts into tears during a phone conversation after leaving a recording studio in London on Wednesday. I wonder if the call was with ex-boyfriend Ed Simons who just recently dumped her. And I wonder if she got dumped because of the miscarriage she suffered. Anyway, a candy fix and a trip to a bathroom fixtures store seemed to cheer Lily up so I’m not going to ask anymore. But for those wondering about how she’s doing, a friend of Lily’s has revealed that “She is feeling fine. She is throwing herself into her work on her new album and TV show.”

American Idol alum Fantasia Barrino is becoming widely known for blowing off her performances but apparently, she blows off her fans too. The signer gave her final ‘Color Purple’ performance on Sunday and after the show ended at a still early 6PM, fans waited by the stage door to get her autograph until 8:45PM only to be told that Fantasia had already left.
Lucky for them, another Idol was there to sign some autographs in the shape of LaKisha Jones who also stars in the production. LaKisha happily gave autographs to the fans not even caring that she was actually signing pictures of Fantasia.

Rihanna changed from her shining green dress on the red carpet to a very supportive strapless black dress complete with poofy polka skirt when she took the stage to perform at the 2007 World Music Award in Monte Carlo, Monaco on Sunday.
I’m sure that after her performance, the Barbados-born beauty took some time to thank the heavens that she did not have any wardrobe malfunctions. Although, I think that the likes of Prince Albert of Monaco was hoping for that as the principality was snapped taking a good look at what Rihanna had to offer.
On a different note, congratulations goes to Rihanna for picking up the award for World’s Best Selling Pop Female Artist.

If there’s still doubt about it, this should erase them all. The Backstreet Boys are most definitely back!
Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean made their first live TV debut performance as the newly reformed group of four on the Wednesday edition of Regis & Kelly Halloween special.
The foursome performed their new single ‘Inconsolable’ off their latest album ‘Unbreakable’ which has already hit the stores this week.
I still think it’s odd to not see a boy band with five people in it. There’s the former Backstreet Boys, the former 5ive, the former NSYNC. But hey, whatever.
