Kelly Clarkson looked absolutely ravishing on the red carpet when she attended the 2009 VH1 Divas which was held at New York’s Brooklyn Academy of Music last Thursday. The 27-year old original American Idol champion talked about her diva status saying “I’m too true country to be called a diva. I need to be more demanding.” The singer performed her hit song ‘Already Gone’ and sang a duet with iconic rock star Melissa Etheridge on her 1988 song ‘Bring Me Some Water’. I bet performing with Melissa was a dream come true for Kelly. It would have been for me if I was in Kelly’s place.

The legendary live concert event, VH1 Divas, is returning after a four-year hiatus and will feature some of today’s big voices including the likes of Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus. I get the first three singers but what the heck is Miley doing on that list? The show’s producer said “Adele, Kelly, Leona and Miley have all captured the world’s attention with their talent and have earned their designation as VH1 Divas this year. Don’t let some of their young ages fool you - these women are among the best entertainers in the world and will continue to thrill music fans for a long time to come.” The VH1 Divas concert will air at 9PM ET/PT on September 17 on VH1.
