Eminem has recently been added to the list of performers for this year’s American Music Awards. There’s no word yet on what horrific song the rapper will perform though. I almost completely forgot that he even released an album this year, much less that it was decent enough to warrant him performing at such a big stage like the AMAs. With Eminem being added to the list of performers, that means there will be 10 performances on the show, including the likes of Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Adam Lambert and Carrie Underwood. Which performance are you most excited for? I can tell you that Eminem wouldn’t even make my list.

Over a week since the much talked about tea bagging incident, Eminem is speaking out about the stunt at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards involving himself and Sacha Baron Cohen’s character Bruno. In an interview with Rap Radar, the rapper confirmed that it was all staged, saying “Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards. I’m a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag. I’m thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going “nuts” so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it.”

It’s always darkest before the dawn, or so they say. Either way, it seems that Eminem has really hit it off with being healthy as the rapper has not only quit booze, but also rotten eating. A source said the following about Eminem’s new dieting habits: “Marshall looks amazing now. He’s never really taken pride in his appearance but after getting clean, he’s quit alcohol altogether. For him, this goes hand in hand with eating sensibly. He used to live off fried chicken, fries, burgers and his real favorite, drumsticks. Now he’s eating only grilled meats and fish, fruit and vegetables, but no refined carbs. His riders are unrecognizable from those of four years ago.” This change is too strange for school… but, if it rocks Eminem’s boat, then why not. Who knows, he might actually be setting a good example for all of his followers.

Jimmy Kimmel has invited Eminem back to the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ for not one, not two, but three performances in the coming weeks! It seems that the comedic host has a lot of love for the rapper. Why? Eminem will be performing on the show on May 15th, 18th and 22nd to promote his comeback album ‘Relapse’ which has already leaked on the internet in its entirety. And yes, it’s as crappy as everyone thought it would be. Maybe Jimmy hasn’t even heard it yet. That’s the only reason I can think of for wanting to subject his audience to three times the torture.

In the latest issue of Vibe, Eminem reveals that he was once addicted to pills. After his first trip to rehab, the rapper suffered an overdose when an acquaintance handed him some methodone. On top on his Vicodin, Ambien and Valium intake, he realized he had a problem after he had knee surgery. And with no prescription for pain killers on account of his addiction, he found himself ransacking his house for any leftover pills. That led to his second trip to rehab. Eminem said “It never once hit me that drug addiction runs in my family. Now that I understand that I’m an addict, I definitely have compassion for my mother. I get it.” Now that he’s back with a new album, he adds “Rap was my drug. It used to get me high and then it stopped getting me high. Then I had to resort to other things to make me feel that … now rap’s getting me high again.”

Eminem’s mother, from whom the rapper is bitterly estranged, has made it her dying wish to be able to have a reconciliation with her son and her 13-year old granddaughter. Debbie Nelson is said to “no longer have the will to live” as she lies dying. She’s very sick and according to the rapper’s grandmother “needs heart bypass surgery and she should weigh about 120 pounds, but she’s some 50 pounds below that.” That doesn’t sound goo. I wonder if Eminem has it in himself to let bygones be bygones and bury the hatchet and finally reconcile with his mother.

The famous hip-hopper recently revealed the reason for partially giving up his musical career… and wouldn’t you know it, it was because of his drug addiction that didn’t quite dissolve with rehab. Eminem related: “I wasn’t ready mentally. I wasn’t ready to give up the drugs. I didn’t really think I had a problem. Basically, I went in, and I came out. I relapsed, and I spent the next three years struggling with it. Also, at that time, I felt like I wanted to pull back, because my drug problem had got so bad. I felt like, ‘Maybe if I take a break, maybe this will help.’ I started to get into the producer role more. I can still be out there with my music, but I don’t have to be in the spotlight the whole time.” Yep, nothing is wrong, there is no problem… until the OD kicks in and then there’s really nothing more to worry about. Well, it looks like Eminem did it, he braved the distance run and can now go on to do even more amazing things with his life. Lucky dog!

When a celebrity takes the cover of a magazine, you can be sure that there will be some airbrushing that went on before their mug gets featured and sold as the cover. It’s either this magazine ran out of money or they have some vendetta against Eminem because he looks more like a cross-eyed action figure than he does human. Maybe Mariah Carey’s air brush artist wasn’t available when they did the shoot for this cover. Eminem ended up looking more like a comedian than the Punisher. Maybe he should put this in his next song, make fun of himself for once.

Eminem has just dropped his new single and, unfortunately, it’s nothing to drop anything for. ‘We Made You’ is not a great song but it’s not bad either. It’s just thoroughly average. The rapper name-drops everyone from Jessica Simpson to Lindsay Lohan to Samantha Ronson to Ellen DeGeneres to Portia de Rossi to Jessica Alba to Jennifer Anniston to John Mayer to Amy Winehouse to Blake Fielder-Civil and even Superman, Elvis and Sarah Palin. Instead of wasting so much time and energy on making fun of celebrities, he should have just focused on writing better raps. I definitely prefer his deeper and more meaningful songs like ‘Mosh’, ‘Mockingbird’ and ‘Like Toy Soldiers’ over the stupid and comical songs like this one.

For fans of Eminem who were looking forward to the release of his album this year would receive a setback knowing that now it would release before the turn of this year.
The rapper is a rage for fans all across the world and his new record was being hotly-anticipated. The album was at first scheduled to hit the stores in November but then tentatively the date was set for December.
Now there has been further delay as Eminem is being quite “obsessive-compulsive” about it. But surely his fans avid fans won’t be complaining one bit because each one of them feels the wait is worth all that it requires of them.
He said: “I always do side projects and produce for artists on my label. I’m concentrating on my own stuff right now - just banging out tracks. The more I keep producing, the better it seems I get.”
I am sure he is right now working off his ass to put together one more super album and he himself has confessed that this work is for him so there’s an added sort pressure that when working for himself he produces something magical.

Eminem says that he has no desire for fame even though he’s making a new album called ‘Relapse’. The rapper says he doesn’t really want a comeback but that he just wants to remind people of how he raps. He says that he feels content with what he has accomplished thus far but he also admits that he like the attention, just not too much of it. The recently crowned greatest rapper alive says he’s excited to get back out there after collaborating with Dr. Dre for the past 5 months on brand new material. He admits to being spoiled in the studio because he lets Dre do all the production as he concentrates solely on his raps.

According to Vibe and its readers, Eminem is the Greatest Rapper Alive. Though the once very outspoken rapper has been keeping to himself lately, Eminem still beat out all of today’s hot acts. Over 920,000 votes were cast and rappers were eliminated tournament style until it was down to Eminem and Jay-Z. Em came out the winner with 69% of the votes. Em said in a statement “It’s obviously an honor to have won the fans’ support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive. I don’t think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best, though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since Vibe’s offering the distinction, hell yeah, I’ll accept!”

Don’t call it a comeback just yet. Reports are saying that Eminem is about to begin working on his first new album since 2004. A protégé of Slim Shady’s, Bishop Lamont, says that Em is working on the project and that he’s apparently “got a lot to get off his chest”. He says that Em was “emotionally devastated” after his rapper friend Proof was killed in 2006. Lamont says “He went through what he had to go through, and now he’s been able to take all the pain and stress and put it out in his music.” There’s no news yet on when the album will be released. After all this time that he’s been gone, I can definitely wait a couple more decades.
