Taylor Swift is going to be on Saturday Night Live on November 7th. I’m sure that the show will be taking full advantage of the infamous Kanye West situation during the country singer’s opening monologue, perhaps even during the entire show when she hosts and performs. The teenager has even been thinking about skit ideas, saying “There are definitely some hilarious things that have happened to me over the past couple of months that I think will be pretty substantial skits.” Taylor also hopes to be able to team up with Andy Samberg on a digital short music video. She said “I’ve gone back and re-watched everything over the past couple of months and digital shorts would be so much fun to do, because they’ve done so well. Andy Samberg is hilarious.”

Lady Gaga was at the Billboard Women in Music event in New York City last Friday to receive the Rising Star Award when she decided to talk about the cancellation of her joint tour with Kanye West. The singer said “It was a mutual decision. Kanye’s going to take some time off. But the good news is that I’m going on tour in a few weeks.” The rapper should just admit it that he’s still reeling from the backlash he got from that VMA incident involving Taylor Swift. He definitely needs some serious time off from being in the spotlight.

The Kanye West and Lady Gaga ‘Fame Kills’ tour has been cancelled as concert promoters Live Nation confirmed recently. No official reason has been given for the cancellation. Refunds are available at the point of purchase. Tickets purchased online and via phone will be refunded automatically. Well that’s a bummer. It would have been an epic joint tour. I wonder if the bad press that the rapper has been getting has anything to do with it. If I was Lady Gaga, I know I wouldn’t want to get associated with that kind of guy. Could this be the end of Kanye’s career?

Singer Keri Hilson has urged music lovers to forgive rapper Kanye West after all the drama he caused at this year’s Video Music Awards.
Kanye ruined country singer Taylor Swift’s, 19, acceptance speech at the MTV awards by taking the microphone off her and saying she didn’t deserve to win, but Keri wants everyone to forgive him.
Hilson, 26, who is hosting the upcoming MOBO Awards, told British newspaper the Daily Star: “Kanye’s a very confident man but not arrogant. He’s just very open and honest.
“People aren’t used to seeing such an unguarded artist. I admire the hell out of how gutsy he is.”
Keri now wants people to forgive him as we should appreciate his honesty.
She added: “The world isn’t used to hearing what an artist really feels about himself or to other people’s music.”

It’s been a long time since I found myself able to say this but MTV is actually driving music sales up! While the public’s reaction to Kanye West’s behavior during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech seems to be the most talked about stunt at this year’s VMAs, the music itself is also getting some recognition. All of the performers at the show are seeing a huge increase in their music sales including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Jay-Z, Pink and Taylor, whose iTunes sales went up by 80%. British band Muse also performed for the first time on American TV and the sale of their album skyrocketed as a result of the VMAs.

Kanye West definitely stole the show at the 2009 MTV VMAs when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech when she won the award for Best Female Video. Just hours after the incident, the rapper took to his official blog to issue an apology. He said “I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID… I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!… I’M NOT CRAZY YALL, I’M JUST REAL. SORRY FOR THAT!!! I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR TAYLOR AND I’M SINCERELY SORRY!!! MUCH RESPECT!!!!!”

Big-hearted Beyonce made sure Taylor Swift got her moment of glory at the MTV Video Music Awards by inviting her back on stage after tactless Kanye West wrecked her acceptance speech.
Classy Beyonce called Taylor to join her as she collected the Best Music Video Award and gave the country starlet chance to finish the speech Kanye rudely interrupted.
Stars in the audience including Katy Perry and Lady GaGa stood to applaud teenager Taylor and the generous gesture.
Emotional Taylor gave Beyonce a big hug before going on to finish her thank-yous for her Best Female Video Award.
Ironically, Kanye had stormed the stage because he thought that award should have gone to Beyonce for Single Ladies, which ended up taking the Best Video prize.
Beyonce told the audience: “I remember being 17 years old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments in my life.
“So I would like Taylor to come out and have her moment.”
Taylor, who had earlier been left stunned when Kanye grabbed the microphone from her, smiled: “Maybe we can try again.

Kanye West’s model girlfriend Amber Rose has opened up about her relationship with the rapper.
Rose, who is back together with West after briefly breaking up with him in February, says she never intended to fall in love with him.
She said: “I was always a huge fan of his, but he had a fiancee, so I wasn’t like, ‘Ah, I’m going to get with Kanye.’ My intentions when I met Kanye were to just do his Robocop video, keep it very professional. But we really started to like each other.”
She continued: “It just so happened that he started liking me and I started liking him. It’s not a publicity stunt - it’s just human beings, man. I love Kanye as a person, he’s a great person and he’s super-talented. I love him for a lot of different reasons.”
Rose added that she’s never worried that her racy past will come back to haunt her because West already knows everything about her.
She said: “Kanye knew my life, so when it was, ‘Oh, Kanye, do you know she was a stripper, that she used to date girls?’ and he was like, ‘Tell me something I don’t know!’”

Kanye West recently absorbed himself in a freestyle rap in New York City as he went off against TMZ for the confrontation at LAX where he smashed the news site’s camera light to the ground and his bodyguard broke a still camera last year. The rapper has been charged with criminal battery, vandalism and grand theft. During the show, he sang “Who doesn’t think it’s illegal, TMZ? And I have to pay $100,000 to the photographer that said I broke his arm, but I was just breaking your f**king camera, I wasn’t tryin’ do you no harm.” Not only was the rant a bad move given that there are charges pending but TMZ also claims that he’s wrong because they have yet to receive any money.

American rapper Soulja Boy Tell’em has revealed his goals are to work with Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne.
The 18-year-old, who had a smash-hit single with Crank That (Soulja Boy), is currently working on his third album The DeAndre Way.
He said: "I want the best of the best on this album." He added to MTV News: "I don’t want no bullsh–. I want, from start to finish, classic [number one] records. I’m not playing."
He plans to reach out to artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne to work on the new album and he said: "Mark my words: This album will be a classic."
He added: "They said I was a one-hit wonder, then I came with Kiss Me Through The Phone, my second No.1 single. Then I released Turn My Swag On, my third No.1 single."
He added: "This album will go platinum. It will be the best album I’ve put out so far."

Kanye West’s lawyer went to court yesterday and won a delay for the rapper’s arraignment for smashing a photographer’s gear. Kanye is charged with vandalism, battery and grand theft which stems from a tussle with two photographers at LAX last year. His manager, Don Crowley, is also charged with two counts of vandalism, two counts of battery and two counts of grand theft. Bond on both defendants was exonerated because neither have criminal records and both promised to appear for their arraignments. If convicted, Kanye could get up to 2 ½ years in jail on all counts while his manager could get 5 years.

Kanye West is still being the annoying kid knocking on the art world’s door hoping that someone will finally let him in. The self-proclaimed artist took a break from his egocentric endeavors to lend a hand to contemporary artist Vanessa Beecroft’s latest installation, ‘VB64’. Kanye slipped on his producing hat to contribute to the video component of ‘VB64’ that screens alongside the live installation. Kanye was asked by reporters what he thought of Vanessa’s art and installation saying “It’s just dramatic, compelling and emotional. I love the way she takes real women and turns them into models… That’s about as artsy-fartsy as I can go.”

Kanye West has pretty much done everything in the world so why not let him have a go at being an author? The musician is planning on compiling a new book documenting his successful Glow in the Dark Tour with behind-the-scenes photos, concept art, commentary and a best of CD from the tour’s set list. Charles Miers of publishing house Rizzoli New York said “Kanye West has turned his talents as pop artist to books. With a CD that includes Star Wars-like symphonics from the show as well as (an) interview with Spike Jonze, it is not only a memento of one of the most successful musical performances of the year, it is an experience all (of) its own.” Let’s hope he doesn’t write in all caps.

Kanye West is on the February 2009 cover of Vibe. Apparently, the 31-year old Grammy winner wants less fans. He said “I made a decision. I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans. I want the freedom of having less fans. It’s like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility. It’s like Björk. If she wanted to pose naked, you’d be like, ‘Oh, that’s Björk.’ But if I wanted to pose naked, people would draw all type of things into it. I definitely feel like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I’ll pose naked. I break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture.”

TI takes front and center on the other side of the double-sided cover for Rap Up magazine. The 28-year old rapper talks about the biggest year of his career, his impending jail sentence, the effect it will have on his family and how the King always gets his way. Just like the other cover star of the magazine, Christina Milian, TI had some fighting words too for Kanye West. When asked what it would take for him to be conceited like Kanye West, he said “Selling a billion. At about a billion, I think I’d be pretty hard to deal with.” He also talks about winning awards saying “No disrespect to Kanye, but that kinda stuff just don’t mean nothing to me. Whether or not I win an award, I mean that’s nice, but at the end of the day I understand that I’m a man. What being a man means to me is not defined by an award or an amount of records sold.” Oh well, I’ve had enough with Kanye anyway. Bring on TI!
Posted in Album Release, Kanye West on the December 9, 2008
Kanye West has always been outspokenly arrogant but what he says of his new album ‘808s & Heartbreak’ is coming from a different side of the rapper. He says that the album is great art and that he doesn’t really care about sales. That’s easy for him to say because he’s used to having best selling records and awards. Moving away from his usual style, Kanye sings on most of the tracks on the new album. He says “You know people sometimes don’t understand great art when they first hear it, but I am very confident in it. Whether it sells as much as the last one, or way more, I feel like I am just successful in doing something I felt really good about.”
Posted in Album Release, Kanye West, Myspace on the November 24, 2008

Previously too major artists like Paul McCartney, Beyonce & band Guns N Roses have release some kind of music stream on websites just prior to the official release of their album. And now Kanye West too has gone the same way.
West’s new “808s & Heartbreak” will be available in the market this coming Monday but fans shall be able to listen to the full CD on MySpace. It’s an ‘in thing’ method of promoting one’s album just a couple of day before the CD’s actual release.
But for Kanye I would rather suggest that he releases music CD ‘in space’ or better inside a black hole so that the black hole can just suck it in and release it into some other galaxy and we people living on earth are spared another thrash album.
More so I would call it a flop because in today’s economic downturn he should either distribute the CD free of cost with a national daily and if not then please do not add to global warming by releasing unneeded plastic waste.

Due to the recent incident in which the rapper was involved, he is now stating that he is being chased by photographers in much the same way the late Princess Diana was. He wrote on his blog: “Regardless of how much light I put out, there are people working just as hard to only deliver darkness.” The way I know it, when you put light out (or put out light, the way Mr. West says it) you create darkness yourself. The rapper’s statement continues as follows: ”If you listen to my music, how could I deliver so many positive, uplifting messages and be the monster I am sometimes painted to be.” Stalin used to promise great things for the Soviet Union when he was in charge, there’s no problem of coexistence between sending out a good message and being a monster.
