Madonna’s adopted daughter Mercy James, 4, has lost her native language in four months since leaving Malawi.
The tiny girl accompanied her megastar mother back to her country to open a girls school that was funded by Madonna. The singer was seen at the school in television footage wearing a dark print sari-style wrap over black garments and a ponytail.
The singer took all four of her children with her for the groundbreaking ceremony and the family went on a visit to the Mchinji orphanage.
Her other child adopted from Malawi, David Banda, 3, was said to know some of his Chichewa tongue, according to Lucy Chipeta of the orphanage where he lived until 2007.
Chipeta said: “David had forgotten us. He remembers a few words. Mercy is a real white girl. She couldn’t speak any.”
She added: “I am happy to see David look so happy. Madonna’s a very good mother. Her children are well-behaved. I think she’s more Malawian than American.”

Madonna was spotted this Monday in Malawi at the ground breaking ceremony for her Raising Malawi Academy for Girls. The Queen of Pop was there in support of her new center and even helped plant a tree at the location. She just keeps doing some good. Although I’m getting tired of all the similarities between her and Oprah. The singer arrived in South Africa this past weekend with her kids Lourdes, Rocco, David and Mercy. Her fifth kid, Jesus Luz, was noticeably absent though. I wonder if she’s going to head into some orphanages and adopt another kid out of the country.

Here’s some big news for fans of ‘Glee’. Madonna has given the Fox hit TV show the rights to her entire music catalog. I wonder if this means that there will be an episode strictly with the singer’s music in the works. In a word – yes! The all Queen of Pop episode of ‘Glee’ is said to air early next year. I can’t wait to find out which of Madonna’s songs they will be using. Moreover, I can’t wait to hear their renditions of them. Here’s to hoping that Cory Monteith’s dancing will have improved by then. What songs do you want to see on the show?

Karen George, a neighbor of Madonna’s, has slapped the Queen of Pop with a lawsuit claiming that the singer has transformed her Central Park West apartment into a rehearsal space and that the entire building has to put up with her blaring music, stomping and shaking walls daily. According to the legal documents, “unreasonably high-decibel, amplified music” seeps through the walls, ceilings and radiators for three hours a day. The co-op board has reportedly threatened Madonna with the consequence of eviction with the entire building fuming over the daily dance parties. I love Madonna but only at a reasonable volume and time.

Madonna is looking for a New York home for her boyfriend Jesus Luz, and is willing to spend up to £1.7 million to find accommodation because it is too soon for him to move in with her family.
The new digs will be just walking distance from Madonna’s own Manhattan spread on the Upper East side. The 51-year-old megastar was also lately said to be on the hunt for a new place of her own in the city that launched her so many years ago.
Real estate agents have already begun the hunt with a ceiling placed on the price. A source said: “Em is buying Jesus an apartment in New York. She has her real estate agent searching for the perfect pad for him in the new neighbourhood where she has just moved. She’s told them to spend no more than £1.7 million and the pad has to be within walking distance of her townhouse. She is financing everything but Jesus will own it once it’s found and bought.”
Luz, 22, who has accompanied the singer on her challenging Europe tour, is also claimed to be on her payroll. He has also reaped the benefit of modelling contracts through Marc Jacobs and her friends, Italian design giants Dolce & Gabbana.

Singer Madonna is not marrying boyfriend Jesus Luz.
The 51-year-old, whose new album Celebration has topped the UK album charts, has been reported to be heading up the aisle with lover Luz, according to various reports in the media.
But the rumour has proven to be unfounded after a spokesperson for Madonna said that the story is simply not true.
The rep joked: “I’ll let you know where they’re registering.”

The scene in downtown Tokyo looked amazing as hundreds of dancers set up a flash mob to mark the release of Madonna’s new record.
The surprise event was organised by Madonna dancer Takahiro Ueno, one of the lead performers on the Queen of Pop’s recent Sticky and Sweet tour.
Takahiro revealed he had been preparing the event to mark the launch of Celebration for months.
Takahiro said: “For practice we had just one day because we used more than 150 dancers, but I have been preparing it for two months.”
The party got started in the streets of Shinjuku, Tokyo shortly after 2pm when large speakers began blaring a medley of Madonna hits.
A crowd gathered to see what the commotion was before five breakdancers appeared on the high street showing off their moves.
They were followed by a group of five girls in red ballet tutus and leotards.
More than 100 other dancers then appeared out of the crowds and joined in with the tightly choreographed routine.
They cleared as Takahiro took centre stage dressed in a black hat, shades and a waistcoat.
The snake-hipped performer moonwalked around the street and performed several summersaults for the crowd.
A group of transvestites joined in the rave in the last moments before the entire group left the scene and scattered - leaving bystanders wondering what had just happened.
Asked after the show what it had been like to perform with Madonna, Takahiro said: “It was just amazing, she is very beautiful

French fashion mogul Christian Audigier is buying the house in which the singer died.
Audigier, who was a friend of the star, said he was not able to get permission to turn the house into a museum but would instead open it on every anniversary of Jackson’s death, staging exhibitions and shows.
“I can have the house in one month now. I get the keys two weeks from today,” Audigier said.
Jackson was renting the house, which is located in Holmby Hills and worth more than $30m, at the time of his death.
Jackson had been “in great shape” in the weeks before his death, Audigier said. “He was very skinny but he was a dancer, too. He was very involved with the London concert. What happened was very sad. The guy was very happy to come back on stage,” he added.

There’s a picture going around the internet of Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, looking identical to the Queen of Pop circa her ‘Like a Virgin’ days in an outfit resembling the now iconic wedding dress that the singer wore from the MTV VMAs. It is being said that the still was taken from what is believed to be a second version of Madonna’s ‘Celebration’ video. Lourdes was also featured on the original version where she dances and even does a back flip at one point. It looks like she’s getting herself ready to follow the footsteps of her mom into the world of celebrity.

Fans booed Madonna at her concert in Romania after she spoke out against the discrimination against Gypsies in Eastern Europe. The singer’s rep explains the comments made during the concert saying “Madonna has been touring with a phenomenal troupe of Roma musicians who made her aware of the discrimination toward them in several countries so she felt compelled to make a brief statement.” According to a recent report by the EU Fundamental Rights Agency, almost half of the 12 million Gypsies in Europe have faced discrimination in the last year alone, in situations regarding housing, health care and even education. Kudos to the Queen of Pop for speaking out.

Officials from the Orthodox Church in Bulgaria have released a statement expressing their “disapproval and disagreement” with Madonna’s upcoming show in Sofia, Bulgaria this Saturday. The Queen of Pop could be over 100 years old and she will still be controversial somewhere in the world. The church is hoping to convince their members to refrain from attending the singer’s show, claiming that Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet tour showcases a “disrespectful and intolerant attitude” to Christians. However, Madonna will still be performing at Sofia’s Vasil Levski Stadium this coming Saturday wheter the Orthodox Church likes it or not.

Some of the greatest musicians have released statements via their reps regarding the death of pop music icon Michael Jackson. Everyone from Madonna to Donny Osmond to Justin Timberlake to Beyonce have something to say about the death of the singer. Madonna seems to have been greatly affected saying “I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless.” Justin moved me with his words by saying “I can’t find the words right now to express how deeply sadden [sic] I am by Michael’s passing. We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only Pop music, but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.”

Madonna has recently sent her two other children, David and Rocco, to her former husband’s home in England so that she can bond with her new daughter. A source said the following about the long-awaited arrival of Mercy James into Madonna’s home: “Madonna had hoped to have all the children together for the next few days but David couldn’t contain his excitement and was running round the house like a runaway horse. He kept shouting, ‘I want to see my sister,’ and endlessly hugging and tugging at her. In the end it was best to pack him off with Rocco to Guy’s place in Wiltshire. Guy has been keen to meet Mercy too. The next few days are all about cocooning Mercy from the world and getting her used to being around her new family.” That’s all fine and dandy, but hopefully the cocoon will be broken in only a few days time as Madonna intends it and it will not be prolonged indefinitely… we wouldn’t want the poor child to live inside that kind of environment for the whole of her childhood.

Madonna was given permission to perform a concert on Palace Square this August in Russia. The Queen of Pop will be touring on her ‘Sticky & Sweet’ tour which starts back up on July 4 in London. A promoter said that “Hermitage Director Mikhail Piotrovsky signed the documentation allowing the concert by Madonna on Dvortsovaya Ploshchad (Palace Square). All requirements for holding concerts on Dvortsovaya Ploshchad have been met.” However, the Director has also asked that Madonna guarantee that her concert would not have any swearing or blasphemy and even expressed doubts that the Palace Square is the best spot for the concert. Local authorities are outraged at the idea and have dubbed the event a “natural disaster”.

Sources have revealed some juicy tidbits about the bonus material on Madonna’s upcoming greatest hits collection, her last album for Warner Bros. Insiders say that the superstar DJ/producer Paul Oakenfold has been in the studio in New York City producing the bonus tracks for the Queen of Pop’s forthcoming greatest hits album. The DJ himself says that the music is “Cutting edge sounds combined with classic Madonna.” I can’t wait to hear it! Madonna is already in a league of her own but bring in Paul and you’ve got something explosive. I bet that they’re both going to give us some great dance tunes.

A photographer who allegedly spooked Madonna’s horse, causing her to fall, has said "nay" to the claims.
The pop star was taken to hospital on Saturday after a riding accident in eastern Long Island, New York.
At the time the star’s publicist claimed Madonna fell after a snapper jumped out of a bush and spooked her horse.
But Thomas Hinton, 34, a freelance photographer who covers the area, said he took photos from a public road before and after the accident – but he wasn’t there when she fell.
Hinton said that as far as he knew he was the only photographer in the area.
"If a photographer startled a horse, I’m thinking we would have seen the pictures by now," he said. "That would be such an egregious thing to do, to trespass and startle a horse. The police would have been looking for a photographer."
The queen of pop suffered minor injuries and bruises during the accident and was released from the hospital the same day.
The fall was Madonna’s second horse riding accident in recent years. In 2005 she cracked three ribs and broke her collarbone.

Madonna went with daughter Lourdes Marie Ciccone Leon to Malawi anticipating that they would already be able to bring home her new adopted child but to no avail. Madonna was able to legally adopt Malawi boy David before despite her lack of residency but this time a Malawi court turned down Madonna’s request to adopt another child from Malawi primarily for such reasons. The baby’s 16-year old mother has died after she gave birth and there was no mention of the father. However, the mother’s brother gave his consent to the adoption.
A judge and a lawyer who were not involved in adoption proceedings but who saw the result said the prospective adoptive parents should have lived in Malawi for at least 18 months prior to adoption and this is the reason why Madonna’s request has been turned down. Madonna can however appeal the court’s ruling to the Supreme Court of Malawi considering the waiver of the residency ruling during Madonna’s first adoption. Different judges rules over the two adoption proceedings and it was not known why the present judge arrived at the decision.
